NCAA Basketball 09 Roster Sharing Problem

As discovered by ncaaStrategies it appears that the EA Locker 3.0 in NCAA Basketball 09 has a flaw that prevents the ability to share rosters openly from being utilized. Named rosters are still able to be traded but as of now that is only possible directly from the user’s locker, which means you would have to be on their friends list to retrieve it.

What is happening is that the game is identifying some names as being inappropriate, which rejects the file entirely. Unfortunately numerous real player names are being flagged as inappropriate meaning it won’t be possible to get a full named roster via the “public” Locker option. Instead the files have to be uploaded as “private” which leads to the requirement that only people on a person’s friends list would be able to download it.

As CDJ mentions this was not an issue with NCAA Football 09 as there was a disclaimer when downloading rosters that there could be inappropriate names included. So the NCAA team has to lay off the restrictions and add the disclaimer otherwise the EA Locker 3.0 feature is basically useless and not delivering what had been advertised.

As to the progress of fully named rosters there are community members at Operation Sports currently working through them for both the 360 and PS3. However with having to be on a friends list to get them once they are done that is going to make things a whole lot more complicated.

You won't get bashed Kyle, those are facts. DNA actually doesn't get updated on a daily basis, it's NBA 365 which get's updated on a daily basis.

As for glitches/problems, it's a given with any game. No game comes out of the gate perfect, every game out there has many issues. Not an excuse, but it's expected, but still frustrating.

I'm just happy that companies can address issues via patches and what not. 10 years ago we just had to deal.

I think there are people who agree with your frustrations, no doubt, but I believe the majority of people also know that no game is perfect and comes with their gaming flaws right out the gate.

I usually don't play games until the first patch is released, or I'll wait a week before playing it for any game. Not recommending this as a solution, just something I do to avoid the initial quirks of any sports game.

Its not that bad, over at operationssports they have the rosters. and if you dont care about the socon or mvc I have one of their earlier versions. Although I would suggest getting it from them because they put a lot of hard work into these rosters and they are really good. (Thank GOd for the community

I don't think that was EA's intention. Probably an oversight since they cannot test this out with actual rosters since they cannot be in the game per NCAA guidelines. They really need to lift this restriction and put a disclaimer. Every issue with this game and days that pass will hurt them bad.

Pasta, any news on whether 2K is coming back with College Hoops next year? I just don't see 2K completely abandoning this project. If anything, this serves as free publicity and buzz. A return for 2K college hoops would be well received by the community if NCAA Basketball 09 under performs.

Madden 08: can't edit more than a few players accessories, or else the pointed shoulder pads will appear

NCAA Football 08: The whole circus that began with the rosters pasta uploaded that caused freezing, and made teams dissapear.

NBA Live 09: DNA feature was MIA for awhile as pasta reported, then updating was on a weekly basis, and not daily as advertised.

Even though CH2k8 was a good game, I think that NCAA BB 09 , is a quality game and has a lot of room to excell. Only thing that I see wrong with this year's version is that some of the things that made MM08 dynasty good are gone, like rule violations, although they did add some nice new additions.
