Madden 09 Roster Update #16 Details

by pastapadre
Posted December 19th, 2008 at 4:04 pm

We have now reached the 16th roster update of the year for Madden 09 which became available earlier today. After much discussion around LaDainian Tomlinson continuing to be rated 99 he still remains that way, though he did drop in some specific ratings categories. I don’t think that is enough, the justification isn’t there for him remaining a 99 overall. Unless the ratings are based more on the past than the present. This is the guy who turned down the Madden cover because it didn’t pay enough money, so I’m not sure why he would be getting such favoritism.

Also of note is a small ratings bump for Matt Cassell. Others such Joe Flacco, DeAngelo Williams, Steve Slaton, and John Carlson didn’t see any improvement. Continue on for all the transactions, ratings up/down, injuries, and contract extensions.

rivers i agree with biggest probowl snub, sproles? seriously YOU HAVE LT! i might give him a moderate speed boost but thats nitpicking, jamal williams give me a stat or reason to justify it and i might agree but for now no, and vincent jackson, be happy his 6'5 ass is rated as high as he is ive seen him drop a few this year, not many but a few, compare his previous years stats to this years and see if there is a dramatic difference, probably not…

Again, sweet, sweet Steeler Nation. As for the Cowboys, I agree. Disgustingly overrated besides DeMarcus Ware. It was a lot of fun watching them murder the Cowboys. I was surprised. That game was huge bro.

Maybe if you took a break and not play 24/7 for a 6 months you wouldn't be so bored. Go outside and get a life then come back. You always come back anyway because my product is soooooooooooo gooood!

i gotta be specific when it first came out it was the best madden ever on next gen systems, only cus madden 08 on ps3 is just about unplayable, and 07 was even worse. I can put whip cream on a piece of shit and call it dessert, but if there was anything else on the menu i wouldnt have this foul taste in my mouth like i just paid $70 for a piece of shit…i miss ps2 madden, it was damn near perfect

You will get the update when you get the update. Why do you wait for the update all week then when it comes out you just criticize it? How about this, just edit your own ratings then you can have B-Dawk with 99 overrall and 99 across the board just like you like it Kris. Heck, you can make the whole Eagles team 99 all the way around. You know what's funny I'm an Eagles fan but lets be real Dallas has more talent than any other team in the and NFL that's why they have an 97 overrall rating. If there was an chemistry rating I would give them a 0 but until a chemistry rating is added Dallas will remain 97 today, tomorrow and every season as long as they maintain their talent. If you have a problem with this call Jerry Jones because he keeps my pockets fat.

Know you do not have a extensive enough grasp of what I'm telling you KRIS. Dallas has T.O., R. Williams, Witten, Barber, F. Jones & Romo. All of those players have made the pro bowl. Now the Eagles have McNabb & Westbrook and dat's it as far a pro bowl considerations. Dallas has more talent but thier team sucks big time because of weak personalities. Everybody but Witten has a prima dona complex and chokes in big games but they all have more talent combined than any other team in the NFL. Do you agree on this Krissy?

i very rarely post on a noobs comment, and bashing kris and the eagles might be entertaining but im going to refrain, your justification of dallas being a 97 overall is recockulous; by the way the eagles also have dawkins samuel cole and im puking up as i say it but stewart bradley. t.o. has more dropped passes in 3 years than every wideout at the probowl COMBINED, Roy E williams i think he has 300 yards on the year nuf said there, felix jones has been gone all year so im not sure why an injured player would factor in but i dont see a point to it, dallas has more talent on their team if your trying to build a meth lab, because if they were so talented they would have beat the eagles not get rocked in the funniest game of the year…if you have any facts or logic from this years games i eagerly await your respons

lets hear it for my eagles defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW. ill admit our offense is stale as hell but that d is hot. yet its soooo underrated in madden. the whole LB corps needs some luv as well as quintin mikell, sheldon brown and of course brian dawkins. and i must ask ea y in gods name they have ken hamlin as the hardest hitting free safety????? i think everyone knows that that title belongs to dawkins and it needs to return….6 foced fumbles in the regular season……and 1 in the playoffs so far. most in the league by any safety

Agreed 70% anyway dawkins needs a boost (98 i think) Im amazed you havent bitched about trent cole that guys about 5 weeks overdue for an upgrade, ill give moderate props to the lb corps AP did bust a big one though, sheldon brown dropped a pic so im not seeing an upgrade there, and as always im saying quintin mikell is over rated and needs a deduction he got beat 3 of his 7 tackles and i didnt see any tackles for a loss he was also slow on the blitz and unable to sack tavaris jackson, but the rest of the d really needs a boost inparticular cole and especially dawkins

COULD U JUST NOT COMMENT ON MY STATEMENTS? cause ur just makin me mad. trent cole already got an update hes a 94…i'll take that considering that thats kinda high.did u really expect them to completley shut down AD??? even tho outside of that big run they did;19 rushes for 43 yds id say thats pretty good. and screw the dropped pics sheldon is a shutdown. u must be one of those guys who looks at pics and decides if a corner is good. u shouldnt do that(look at d hall). they only had 164 yds throwing the ball and only 90 of them were to recievers!!!!!!!!!!!!!nuff said. quintem mikells job was to basically shut down the t.e. he did that extremely well. and how in godz name would u kno that he got beat 3 out of 7 times or whatever???? u dont have the coaches tape u dont kno what play was called, stop trying to come up with off the wall stats and just shit that kno sports "fan" would kno!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we will see what the giants offense without plax will do on the eagles d then ur hate can stop

na i like educating people who have a poor grasp of the game, first off interceptions are difference makers and if you cant jump an easy 10 yard curl your not a "shutdown corner" secondly the reason i know he got beat 3 out of the 7 times, i watched on sunday ticket like all the other games, and i was rooting for the eagles before but now im hoping the giants win, just so i can watch dominic "no more practice squad" hixon beat an over rated corner and safety; eli is gonna rape the eagles secondary…again

also quintin mikell is still a bum, i use stats, game situations, and progressions to defend the point, you might debate your point a little better if you use facts instead of saying someones wrong and they dont know football just because they disagree with your point, it was fine when you were doing it to buffalo fans, cus lets face it trent edwards is not payton and lynch is not LT, but ive watched football for 20+ years, i know my shit. You also might wanna order sunday ticket so YOU know what your talking about…i assumed you were a "true" sports fan and already had it, aparently i was mistaken :)

    i have i learned 2 things:
    how to spell polamalu
you can never win a debate on here using stats, facts, and logic because when people cant defend the quantifiable they revert back to the classic "man hes a beast you dont know anything about football" when ive seen 90% of all the games this year and last in their entirety…but i find it entertaining when someone can defend their ratings judgements (at least partially) so kudos to you for that

I really am proud of you Ken. You learned how to spell Polamalu. For you, I'm sure that's quite an accomplishment. As for stats, I pretty much proved my point. Tackles alone make Polamalu>Reed. As I have said since I posted the stats from NFL.com, Reed simply can't get the job done by himself. Polamalu can tackle just about anyone in this league by himself. I don't think you can say the same for Reed, can you?You can go ahead and talk about the defensive touchdowns again, but I'll just have to remind you again that Polamalu SHOULD be tied in the regular season. All Reed has on Polamalu is returning abilities…which again…is why he's a punt returner. You know what I find entertaining though, after so many posts, you still haven't named your team. Unless I skipped it?

Ok Kenny can I call you Kenny? Shut up don't answer! Dallas players resume in the regular season speaks for itself. All of those players were pro bowlers at some point and Witten is the best TE not named Gonzalas in the NFL. There is no team chemistry rating and a choking rating if there was they would have a big fat 0, I guarentee. The Eagles play on heart and team chemistry so I would give them a 98 but that's not how we do business. Jerry Jones keeps my wallet fat for a reason and unless you will come up with 5.5 million, to cover my ….uh expenses, I will side a bit with Jerry and keep the team chemistry option out.

Your mother and i talked about it and only she can call me kenny, fat ho took 3 attempts but i finally donkey punched that bitch, sooooo good, anyway lets look closer at the dallas players resumes shall we? Marion Barber ranked (he leads the league in fumbles by a reciever 4) 21st in rushing just behind baltimores Le'ron Mcclain, hes their fullback by the way, not their starting half back. TO ranked 28th in receptions with 69 13th in yards with just over a 1000, obviously not a top 10 wideout. One of the funnier stats though defense, spicifically points per game, they are TIED with cincinatti at 22.8, so another bottom half of the league area for them. Suffice it to say im not talking about chemistry or exastential ratings im just talking ratings based on stats the cowboys should be about an 87 overall…i would have also picked on roy williams but we all know that story so id get no points for originality…
