Adding to a heavy couple days of baseball related content, the MLB 09 The Show cover art has now slipped out. Even though we’ve known that Dustin Pedroia was the cover athlete for a month and now have the actual covers for the game SCEA has yet to confirm it via press release. Expect that to arrive in the near future. This is much later than usual for officially announcing the cover athlete.

What do you think of Pedroia getting the cover? He won the AL MVP so it would be difficult to say he didn’t deserve it, I’m just a little fatigued of all the players coming out of the northeast over the last several years.

    That doesn't make the game\

Now if they added aomethings like eye black, glasses, longer dreads, and longer hair.
Also they have the right color for the Clevland Indians also the red bill for the home batting helmet.
Multi team control for the franchise.

This would be a different story

I can personally care less about the cover athlete. Does not influence me to get the game, nor does it take away from the quality of the game. This series is sports gaming gold.

Now that being said. I think Pedroia is more than deserving. His plays the game hard, respectful, and just plain right. And embodies the work ethic we should expect from all players. Not to mention his small size can relate to people more I think, as far as non-pro athletes that always would dream of playing baseball.

As a Sox fan, I love it! This is feeling like the year when MVP came out with Manny on it, and took the "favorite baseball game ever" award in my book. I'm ready for this. Thanks for this.

I hope so, that would be pretty neat. If we don't know for sure beforehand I'll write about it from the community event.

Who cares about the cover? It could be Paul Byrd and I wouldn't care. This will easily be the best baseball game on the market and ages ahead of 2k9.
