2K Sports has released the first two screenshots from MLB 2K9. Both of them feature cover athlete Tim Lincecum. You can check them out in the gallery. Along with the feature details we are now able to start formulating a picture of how 2K9 is going to shape up. Feel free to leave your thoughts on the screens in the comments!

we've waited this long and this is what we get? 2 more Lincecum screens? Can't really tell anything from this. Guess we'll have to WAIT and see….

well, if they are real screen grabs…I would say its graphically very impressive. Granted its a lot to assume, but if it actually plays well and looks like this….it could be back to being relevant.

Its ok, but look at the backround its all blurred to sharpen the image. If this is how the pics look in real game play and the crowd is blurred then NO its not going to be good.

Actually, thats an effect called "depth", and it's actually more realistic (in terms of TV style presentation) than having everything in perfect focus.

Doesn't look great. Really looks just like last year and we know how that ended up graphically. 2K sure loves that background blur

at least it actually looks like there IS a crowd for once…this is a major upgrade from the previous 2k games in terms of atmosphere of the game, hopefully there is enough audio to make it feel like your actually in the stadium

Really? Seems like most reviewers and gamers agreed that The Show '08 looked better than 2k8. And before that, MVP was hand down the graphical leader.

Plus why is 2K holding back so much on thier information, it's not like its going to be the best baseball game ever to hit the videogame market. I mean thier marketing really stinks.

From what I can tell from the pics, the grass still looks Playstation 1 quality. I hope this pic isn't a bad sign of what is to come with the graphical look of the stadiums/fields.

grass look the same as the show09, compare the screenshots. I dont think 2ks problem was graphically last year.

With as much as they're holding back, the game must suck again. I'm really glad I have a PS3.

I use to be an MLB 2K fan, however, due to 'The Show' surpassing 2K's efforts (or lack their of) in nearly every category, — IMO — 2K is doing nothing more than wasting time and money on their product.

I actually think the screen shots look way better than last year. The lighting looks good compared to last year's game where it appeared games were played during an eclipse.

I hope that this game plays as good as it looks. I have no issues owning both The Show and MLB 2K9. For 360 owners (I own both) this game needs to be good. Can't wait to see some vids and hopefully news on a demo release….

Look at last years screenshot and it looks like a cartoon ( http://xbox360media.ign.com/xbox360/image/article...) and these two new screens looks more realistic.

Like others have said, the graphics look fine to me, it's all about gameplay and will it reproduce the game of baseball which 2k8 did not. Luckily I haven't heard the dreaded "meatball" word yet this year yet.

Thats a good question. Last year they promised it a month before release, and then it didn't come out until a few days after release which was a very bad sign. I think we'll probably see it a week before release but I doubt they give us a timetable again.

The only bad thing about this game is there's a Giant on the cover ( GO DODGERS! ), everything else looks nice! For those of you who keep complaining let's see you do any better! It's not easy making a video game and there probably keeping it a secret because they don't want anyone to see how great it is untill it comes out.
