Madden 09 Final Roster Update Is Out

As posted last week roster update #18 for Madden 09 is the final one of the year. That means injured players come off the IR. But EA has also put a lot of effort into providing an extensive update that better represents the performances of the players this season. Hopefully this is a sign of how the updates will be produced next year as the vast majority of the community (88% according to the poll) wanted to see more of a slant towards current performance than was being offered.

Unfortunately there is no detailed list of the changes that were made this time around. Feel free to post anything you notice in the comments along with your thoughts on how good of an update it turned out to be. A few of the names checked on so far are Joe Flacco going up to an 84, Chad Johnson dropping to 92, Kurt Warner raised to 95, LaDainian Tomlinson down to a 95, and Michael Turner up to 95. Its also nice to see John Carlson get some credit after having such a great year and never receiving a boost as he goes from 79 to now being an 89.

As a Raider fan I can say that EA is correct with dropping the ratings for the linebackers. They like the rest of the defense had a horrible year. I won't say over rated just yet but it sure does look that way. I'm guessing Kiffin is still the coach????

i find it pretty funny how willis mcgahee goes down from a 92 to an 84. at least put him 89 hes one of the best backs in the league. obviously if EA watched football theyd see that he barely played becuz of injuries but when he did he was a beast.

Why on earth is K. Rivers (olb CIN) a 90 and the best player on that defense. Seriously, when you base a players rating on 4 games I dont think that you can make him the highest rated player on that defense. Not only that but to rate him higher than J. Mayo 88 MLB is absurd. You simply cant do that. Artose Pinner had 3/3 100 yard games one year and no one would even consider giving him a rating higher than 75. Its too small a sample size. I think that K. Rivers deserved to be an 83 until proven otherwise. Besides the man was averaging 5.2 tackles per game. That is not elite 90 rated production. Most of the ratings I thought were pretty good, but this one is beyond way off and bordering on absurd.
