Madden 09 Final Roster Update Is Out

As posted last week roster update #18 for Madden 09 is the final one of the year. That means injured players come off the IR. But EA has also put a lot of effort into providing an extensive update that better represents the performances of the players this season. Hopefully this is a sign of how the updates will be produced next year as the vast majority of the community (88% according to the poll) wanted to see more of a slant towards current performance than was being offered.

Unfortunately there is no detailed list of the changes that were made this time around. Feel free to post anything you notice in the comments along with your thoughts on how good of an update it turned out to be. A few of the names checked on so far are Joe Flacco going up to an 84, Chad Johnson dropping to 92, Kurt Warner raised to 95, LaDainian Tomlinson down to a 95, and Michael Turner up to 95. Its also nice to see John Carlson get some credit after having such a great year and never receiving a boost as he goes from 79 to now being an 89.

If this update is based on the season n not the playoffs how does eli go down when the guy made the probowl? Yea of course he struggled without his big target(plax)…but he still single handedly took us to the playoffs!…n how does jacobs speed go down? I dnt get it…n plax goes down to a 90?? How does his legal issues make his ratings drop???makes no sense

i dont understand why they would completely destroy the patriots. almost every starter went down, and brandon merriweather didnt even go up after a great season. i also think that jerod mayo deserves a 91 overall

Does anyone else have the trouble of Randy Moss dropping 3-5 balls a game on that deep route?

When throwing the deep ball make sure he gets 20 yards down the field before releasing the ball. Also find out which side has the weakest defensive backfield and switch Moss to that side and let it rip. He should catch every ball if he created enough space. Also the only way for the defense to defend this is to play deep and commit pass defense if you noticed that just hit an under route with someone with good hands like a Welker or if they drop everyone back before the snap switch to a running play.

There is too much tape on Romo's sheer dominance as I have explained to Kris, Ken and Pasta. My offer to them was to show them how to break down film and I will give you the same chance to truly understand the game of football. So if you want to have a firm grasp of football all of the x's and o's and how to break down film just let me know.

Just because you do not have this skill whether it's from lack of being able to or wanting to, there is no reason to knock a true professional here. I have stacks of film dating all the way back to 1985 and in that time frame without a doubt the top 5 QB's in order are T. Brady, S. Young, T. Romo, Elway and J. Montana. You probably noticed that I left out Aikman well that is because the film doesn't lie. He was a very efficient QB but he didn't win games their defense and running game was their ticket to 3 SB's.
