First News on Madden 2010

The first news relating to Madden 2010 was to be announced at halftime of the Super Bowl on the brand new EA Sports Community Blog. That announcement has come and centers around discussion of new technology in the game and specifically “Procedural Awareness”.

It is my pleasure to introduce Madden’s newest piece of technology, one that is also shared within many of the EA SPORTS games, called Procedural Awareness. What is it? We’ll you’ve likely heard of “head tracking” with IK. If you haven’t, it’s a way to turn the players head around to face a target dynamically, without the need for canned animations. Well, think of Procedural Awareness (PA for short) as the “next-gen” version of head tracking. Since it is so early in the year, unfortunately I can’t show you any videos of it running in the game, but I can show some “tech demos” of sorts

Meh…….. how about improving the franchise mode and the wide reciever play. Its so hard to catch the ball the reveiver dont jump for the ball

You expected details like that over half a year in advance of release? I'm sure they will be addressing areas such as those but you can't expect features or gameplay specific enhancements for Madden on the first of February.

I've been waiting for this since I started playing Madden… it may not get a big promotion but if it works like they claim it will be huge in gameplay. Finally you have to see the ball to know where it is… and hopefully everyone on the defense will finally not know the instant a pass is thrown exactly where it's going.

Everything EA says should be take with a block of salt, their really good at overhyping damn near everything. It’s good to see them continue their communication with the community and I like what Mr Cummings has to say, but I’ll beleive when I see it. Madden has a pretty steep climb to being the best sports game.

yes the info was not that great BUT at least the info is coming out Early so we can get input!!!!!

How does making it so that DBs and LBs can't react to balls that they can't actually see not affect the gameplay? It's been one of the biggest holes in Madden for a long time.
