First MLB 2K9 Gameplay Videos

With the disaster that MLB Front Office Manager turned out to be we can now focus on a game that looks to have some potential. 2K Sports has finally lifted the restriction on media sites for posting videos of MLB 2K9. Some have already begun to provide them with more sure to arrive later today. Below are links to the first posted gameplay videos and I’ll be adding more as they show up.

While it isn’t yet enough to start making full evaluations on the game you can get a sense for the presentational elements especially. While I really like having the stamina and composure displayed I’m somewhat bothered by the giant pitch circle and subsequent flash of light. Feel free to post your thoughts on the videos in the comments.

This is horrible mlb 2k fails again the gloves on the players are awfull there to big and look like old school baseball gloves the shows gloves are way better also the player faces are terrible no facial expression just a a blank expression in the show they have expressons also that double play that cardinals turned was bad there signature stances are not impressive Pujols is stance is way off all the stances are basically from last year they don fix the stances at all in the show as i seen in the demo almost everyone in the lineup has there own stance the pitching in 2k sucks they have that analog stick there were bad reviews on analog pitching from the people and then they bring it back not good at all people are gonna be frustrated about that and once again go back to classic and every time someone catches the ball in the outfield they always gotta throw hard and do a pro hop in the show when you catch a routine ball or any ball they have an animation were they throw it in like any mlb player would..what i can say is that they improved on gameplay thats it and that practice mode they got that from the show……Da SHOW IS GONNA BE THE BEST BASEBALL GAME IN 09 AND POSSIBLY SPORTS GAME OF THE YEAR HANDS DOWN..THANK GOD I OWN A PS3

One video you saw. I've played the demo multiple times and have seen and had hits down the line, in the gaps, etc.

Seeing some balls hit up the middle in ONE video isn't quite enough for you to say it sucks.

ok first of all im getting both games no doubt but mlb 2k9 said there is suppose to be 300 SIGNATURE STYLES so far i have only seen one mlb 09 the show said there were going to be 150 but so far everyone has new stances. also can we please see some other teams besides cardinals and cubs

I have to agree. Although it is a little item, the sound of the bat is something the community has begged to change. Not to mention, the teaser trailers had a sweet sounding bat contact.

I can handle the organ playing, it adds a bit to the game. Again, I agree that this is recycled from past 2K versions and it gets a tad old.

I have been critical of the videos but can't wait to play the demo so I can get a real feel for how the game is going to play….And, yes, I will have The Show on day one….

I own both and actually prefer the 360 because XBL smokes Sony's garbage online offering….And we are offering our observations as well yet you want to call people out.

I agree with Mister Woods! I don't see anything wrong with 2K9 and it's definitely a step up from last year. You guys are really doing some serious nitpicking. The gameplay looked smoother and the presentation is much better and the commentary sounds great. Of course the game is not gonna be 100% perfect but show me a game that is. I mean you can pick apart ANY game if you sit down and really take the time to nitpick, even MLB The Show 08 wasn't perfect. I think MLB 2K9 is gonna be very good this year. You guys are burying it after 2 short gameplay videos.

It amazes me how games can get worse over the years ( NBA Live, Madden, MLB 2K, etc…) with all the advanced technology we have. MLB 2K7 was a great game. The only thing they needed to do was fix the framerate. Now just 2 years later this game has fallen off? WTF? I know this is off topic but Madden 07 had great PROGRESSIVE LIGHTING & now Madden doesn't have it. My point is IF IT AINT BROKE DON'T FIX IT!

why do people care which game is better? Especially with 360 owners, they cannot even buy the show. I have a 360 and I do not care which is better, and all I know is I can buy one game and thats 2k9. With that said I focus my attention to 2k9 and not the show. IM not saying the show is worse or 2k9 is better in honesty I do not care. All I care about is the game I can purchase. If you think one is better then the other thats fine but why are you trying to sway someone elses decision on which one is better? It makes no sense.

losers trying to nit pik very good videos, no framerate dips, no switch scene lag/delay. that was the only thing wrong with the game last year. my opinoin, and when im buying it with my money, its the only opinoin that matters, but reading these comments makes me feel like so many 'followers' are not gonna get the game. original thinkers vs lazy followers. and the followers got us in this reccession….be original, look at vids without the i hate 2k in grained by pasta on this website. 2k9 by far will be this years better game, you can tell already. watch when the game reviews roll around….2k9 isnt 2k8 or 2k7. set the new trend, dont be a late follower.

First of all, THE SHOW, as great as it looks, sounds, and feels – is a game that is marketed and geared toward the casual gamer. This is why youtube is littered with videos of THE SHOW 09 demo by people who can't play the game but say "this game looks so sweet!"

Also, I hate the XBOX 360 vs PS3 argument – but facts are facts: there aren't that many GREAT ps3 exclusives, THE SHOW, a baseball game, is arguably the best exclusive game that the entire SYSTEM has – so the pressure is on the series to push units, and like i've said on here before – most of these people on here could care less about THE SHOW 09, but more the whole "xbox sucks!" argument…

and it's also a FACT that the PS3 is lagging behind the entire world in sales, SONY posted a 95% loss in Q4 08, and their PS3's sales were down 32%…we are talking about a system that might not even make it through 2010…

both games look good though so either way, everybody wins.
