People are basing their opinions on last years 2k8 game, because that is all they have to go on, other than some pics and video of 2k9. Lot of venom from people who bought into the 2k8 hype and gave them the benefit of the doubt, only to be given the shaft. Especially when The Show 08 turned out to be sooo good.

Until we actually have a demo of 2k9 to play, this is the intelligent choice. 2k has a lot to prove this year to overcome their antics from 2k8. 360 only owners are extremely hopeful because that is their only option. The people that own a PS3 arent sweating this season at all because they know what they already have in a baseball game this year, having played the demo for 09.

Man you guys are just 2K haters. 2K9 looks way better than last year's version. Graphics are good but not great (what 2K game does have great graphics?), and the presentation is awesome, and the gameplay looks good from what i've seen so far.. I like the real time deal because i personally hate cutscenes. I'm not saying this game is better than The Show 09 but it looks to be a huge improvement from 2K8 and I think it's gonna be a solid game. I just don't know why you guys are ripping the game. At least rent it first and see if you like it before you tear it to shreds.

You want to know why the show wont be that much better? It won't be much better b/c they have gotten right the first 2 times. The game of baseball hasn't changed. Baseball is baseball and there is only so much you can do to the game. The show has done it right in 07 and in 08 so there isn't much to do to the game other than beef up the bells and whistles and improve the Road to the show mode. They did both these things.

2k took such a major step back last year that they have to do massive changes just to get on par with what they did on 07. I do however think it funny how all you 360 owners have an opinion on a game that you dont even own and cant play. Oh, BTW don't give me that excuse that you played at a friends house. You all use that excuse as well.

2k9 is trash, the gameplay looks tons worse.. the graphics are crappy as usual from 2k.. feel bad for the 360 people.. for the ps3 people, you have to be stupid to buy this crap over the show 09..

Obviously, your realistic representation of true to life baseball is different from the educated baseball fans. Go have a "meatball" sandwich.

The only fans pulling for The Show are ones that have played the game and are enlightened. Your "casual gamer" has probably never been on a baseball field. You obviously are coming from a point of ignorance. And to go on and on from that viewpoint is to further the quote, "better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt".

2k has made arcade baseball games. Sony has made baseball sims. That is the point until 2k steps up to the plate and proves otherwise. It's as simple as that.
