MLB 09 The Show Is Here

Having received my copy of MLB 09 The Show on Saturday afternoon I worked to make sure I could at least get up some videos and a handful of screenshots. Further coverage in the way of impressions, online play thoughts, a deeper look at some features and more videos and screens will come beginning Sunday night.

Continue on to see nine screenshots and four different videos in HD. If you have any screenshot or match-up requests feel free to leave them in the comments and I’ll pull some of those suggestions for the next round.

I'm not a 2k fanboy in any way, I actually hate the series and really wish I had a PS3 for the show but…

The arms on those players look SO goofy. They are so short and thick

Also, the signature styles look really off. Its not only that they look nothing like the players' stances and windups, but the windups just look aweful in general. They look like they are going to lob one in there and then it comes exploding out of their hand. It just looks ridiculous and really bad animations on The Show's part…as far as windups go…everything else looks solid.

Well that about sums it up…I still think the player models are goofy looking with their knubs for arms and watermelon sized heads…but these graphics are amazing, the gameplay looks solid – I've never played a franchise on this game, only RTTS – but I will have to switch that up this year…

Now time to SHIT all over 2k for what they are doing to the consumer again this year…here is a list of reported problems in the game:

- Franchise glitch
- Problems with first basemen coming off the bag on routine plays to first
- NO CREATE-A-PLAYER BATTING STANCE OPTION
- CPU doesn't take strikes (as pasta already showed)
- Quirky/Jerky animations
- Pickoffs too easy
- Clipping is excessive
- FANS ARE NOT EXCITED OVER GAME SITUATIONS AS ADVERTISED ON THE BACK OF THE BOX!!

do you complain this much when you go to real sporting event. Who gives a flying F#$% about advertising. What do you think pays for making this a fantastic game. I wish they would make the stadiums like a freaking NASCAR for all I care.

Advertisements make the stadiums realistic. They need more instead of just 1 or 2 plastering every stadium.

the only difference is in real life you don't see the same freaking ad for a show on a c-level cable channel plastered all over a scoreboard. and for the record, it wasn't a complaint just a mere observation, but thanks for your two cents anyway.
