Matthew Stafford will go #1 to the Lions and deserves it as much as anybody else, so just live with it and sit back and enjoy the rest of the draft.

You are exactly right. Gallery has pro-bowl guard potential. He can't play tackle in the NFL because of his short arms and lack of strength. He is a great guard in the zone blocking scheme. And his penalties HAVE dropped greatly since he made the move to guard. He's not what you would have expected with a #2 overall pick, but he's not quite a bust either.

Uh,..did you know that McFadden had turf toe in both feet and a shoulder injury last year? That had a lot to do with him spending time on the bench. However, I will give you that they did not utilize both him and Bush properly.

Russell greatly improved at the end of the season, even though he had one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL and probably the two worst tackles most of the season. They should have started Mario Henderson way earlier. Russell played much better with Henderson protecting his blind side.

I'll agree with you there that Tecmo Bowl wasn't a great game. What I did like was the addition of how somebody was feeling prior to playing a game i.e. great , ok, & crappy. They had somewhat of it in Madden 2006 which to me may have been the best madden ever if they had properly translated it to the next gen system. Madden just needs to implement more diversity in franchise mode with personalities and injuries. It seems that they are so concerned with widespread enjoyability of their product that they ignore their "true sim" fan base.

I remember how excited I was with Madden '92 because it had green Packers & purple Vikings. I seem to remember some Amiga game a friend of mine had that kept season stats, but don't remember what it was. Tecmo just seemed silly to me. A few players couldn't get tackled if they tried. Scores were always ridiculous because no one could tackle. I just couldn't get into it.

Well, I'd definitely like to see a more realistic representation of injuries in football games. I'm liking Head Coach '09, but the same problem exists there. I'm 3 seasons in with no major injuries. I've had players playing with less than optimal health (70-80%), but nothing that would really keep these guys out of the games. I am disappointed in that, but still enjoying HC anyway.

Ah, many memories of late night gaming sessions with Tecmo Bowl. Can't believe how excited I was then when they added the season function that kept season stats. That was groundbreaking back then. Gameplay was basic, but I think that was part of the appeal then.

ok.. that was a bit of a dickish reply. No, that is not it. I love sports simulations because of the small-scale strategy on the playing field and the larger-scale strategy of building a dynasty. There are a lot of guys in this hobby that feel that way.

You mention "favorite players" and quite frankly, I don't have many "favorite players"... At least nowadays... mine all played long ago. So that really doesn't matter to me. It's not about Adrian Peterson getting a 10 yard gain.. it's about anyone on my team getting that 10 yards because it's 3rd & 8 and we need one more score.

For me, it's the strategy... NOT the names. (And shit... 4-5 years into a franchise mode, they're mostly fake anyway!)

Totally agree with this. I, too, was just agreeing with darkheath on this point. I think there's a lot of people out there that would love this feature.

I totally agree about the overall rating going away. I'd love it if you had the options to embed the ratings and only see the basics of a player: Size, speed, strength and maybe an intelligence factor that ties into experience.

The "randomizing factor" would be nice too. Allows for you to truly assess a players's ability by what he does on the field, not some number attached to him.
