Madden 10 Website Launches With New Info

The official website for Madden 10 went live earlier this evening. Most of what is currently being offered are teases to future dates. The first footage will come on April 23rd, the cover athlete will be revealed on Friday April 24th, a preview will be in Gamepro scheduled to hit shelves on May 5th, and EA has big plans for an interactive experience throughout the Draft on April 25th. The game will release on Friday August 14th which is a change from the traditional Tuesday releases.

On-field authenticity and emotion is taken to another level in Madden NFL 10. With more control over the outcome of the play than ever before, players can drag defenders towards the first down marker, fight for a fumble at the bottom of the pile, and avoid the rush by stepping up into the pocket.

The cover teasing begins with a listing of the first two “candidates” with two additional players to be discussed each Monday leading up the announcement. While Ed Reed and Adrian Peterson are two viable candidates my gut is that they wouldn’t mention the actual cover guy in the first round of hints. My full cover prediction article is still to come but feel free to leave your guesses in the comments.

I really don't understand why EA just doesn't put like three guys on the cover like they do with FIFA.

What EA should do is put the superbowl trophy on the cover with the steelers helmet below it… a cover athlete isnt going to sell more copies

Ohh and this madden is looking promising, I'm still not getting sucked into the hype machine but madden 10 is lookin good so far

I told you already they were gonna give you an updated rosters as DLC for the PS2. That will be the Madden 10 for the PS2. Also they are going to add the forward pass for the Atari 2600 edition.

Steelers on the cover to jinx the entire team right? LOL.

I'm actually excited about Madden this year. I'm usually ho-hum about it, and appreciate some of the upgrades and tweaks, but they are really bringing it this year.

At least you know it's not T.O. because he has his hand raised as if he won something and we all know T.O. aint won crap in the NFL. T.O. has only played in 1 playoff game were he was on the winning team. Think about that 14 seasons only 1 playoff win and he feels he is the difference maker from a decent team to a great team. What a joke for a player he could have been the richest player in the NFL instead he has no sponsorship deals not long term contracts and a house in New Jersey he bought for 5 million that he can't even give away. That houses has been sitting in NJ collecting dust for 5 years with no buyers tsk tsk.

On field refs…chaingangs…and now "fumble pile-ons"………….I have been calling for pile-ons and kicking meters ever since Madden went next gen!!! 9 times outta 10 a fumble is at the bottom of a scrum and refs have to remove players. Should add some excitement to the game!

I am very happy that they are finally planning to improve the gameplay, but "step up in the pocket to avoid the rush". LOL. That isn't a feature EA. That's something that should have been in your game for YEARS!!

I really HOPE……..I repeat, HOPE….that this will penalize players from running backwards 20 yds and throwing a dart on the money. It will make a more realistic and fun game IMO.

I could care less who the cover athlete is. Just give us a good game and I will be happy. All hype and a bad game would be a diservice to all the loyal Madden gamers like myself who buy the game every year and don't need all the needless hype to do so. Just give us a much improved game that proves it deserves all this attention.

I like the thought of being able to push the defenders to the first down line, but not the fighting for the fumbles… it already seems like a coin toss when you fumble the ball so I don't want another one if I recover a fumble.

Also, I really hope the cover won't be Adrian Peterson. The Vikes are already cursed enough with Childress as coach :P

I think there will be 10 cover people, nine players and one with Madden himself on the cover.
