Another Monday brings a new Inside EA Blog for Madden 10. This time it is franchise mode that is being spotlighted. The post is done by Josh Looman who was the lead designer for NFL Head Coach 09 and moved over to Madden for this year. Detailed in the blog are areas such as offseason player signing logic, the draft, and player progression. You can check out the full posting here.
Since our ‘foundation’ is the logic behind every decision made in franchise mode, we knew we really wanted to address that foundation before anything else major was applied. I know some folks may be expecting the entire NFL Head Coach ’09 game to be dropped into Madden this year, but that’s not going to happen. We have a lot of work to do and it’s going to take us some time to start with the core of franchise mode and take it where we all want it to be.

You fucked up the coaches this year and the way progression works with them….had to mention that sorry for the nice word used in their =) (that was after editing…trust me…)
Also Players do NOT Decline with AGE!!!
Look at Brett on the Vikings…the guy is pretty damn old considering hes a QB…and still makes the Big plays (ya hes not the greatest…but he does damn good occasionally)
Think about it logically….
some players are great early and decline fast.
Some players suck and get great in time.
Some players suck and will always suck.
Some players are great and will always be great.
No one-way streets EA…..
Seems you guys need to stop adding special effects and reconsider your idiotic logic.

Make Turning OFF Retirement an option!!!
Very unrealistic I know…
But I HATE losing Ray Lewis and Urlacher due to retirement…and after 1 yr half the NFl is gone…IDIOTIC
Jerry Rice played until his hands turned to dust please extend the length the players play and give an option to turn retirement off.
If the counter to it would be to turn off incoming drafts that is fine (OPTIONS ARE ALWAYS ACCEPTABLE) (IF this then this…is fine aswell aka If No retirements then No Drafts)
No harm in adding a feature if theres an On/OFF option (fight for fumble)
Feel free to throw in Optional Features!!!
Also Cap penalty needs to be fixed…Late in a franchise if you screw up it should be like previous years (90million cap penalty….equals….switch cap to off permanently) it use to be on until you shut it off permanently. Now its either On or OFF no switching after starting.
