Erin Andrews Joins NCAA Football 10

The news for NCAA Football 10 has been somewhat lackluster but that feeling may change after the announcement today that Erin Andrews will be included in the game as a sideline reporter. She already appears as the third member of the announcing team in the NCAA Basketball series.

Erin Andrews is the newest addition to the NCAA Football 10 broadcast team, joining Kirk Herbstreit, Brad Nessler and Lee Corso in a game that envelopes the excitement and pageantry of college football at its best. Including Andrews as part of the NCAA Football 10 broadcast team complements the franchise commitment to offer the most authentic college football experience available on any gaming platform. Andrews has served as a sideline reporter for ESPN’s College Football Saturdays since 2004.

It is also mentioned that Andrews will be a part of an as-of-yet unannounced mode in the game. There is a good chance that is the Teambuilder mode that was noticed on the main menu screen. That could be a sign there is more to it than just being a new name for Create-a-School as previously speculated.

Sounds like adding Andrews' voice is a way to somewhat break up the monotony of hearing the exact same comments from Herbstreit, Nessler, and Corso for the umpteenth year.

Why not just have Andrews on the cover of NCAA this year? Then all that empty hype EA drums up over its cover athlete might actually be justified for a change.

I remember when I bought my Xbox 360 I was thinking we'd get all these great pre game and halftime cgi sequences, and presentation that would knock my socks off.

This whole "Next Gen" experiment is starting to look like a waste. I mean this is 2009 & this is the best EA can do with presentation? 2K5 had far better presentation & that was on a Last Gen system. We should have TV style presentation.

I was saying the same about Madden. A couple days ago someone posted a link to youtube showing 2K5/2K8 football and boy does it MURDER Madden/NCAA. I went up and picked up AP2K8 AGAIN for $6 and I am totally enjoying it except for repeatedly press the speed button and powering up moves…other than that, the game offers awesome presentation and animations abound. I want EA to succeed but at the current rate we'll all just have to wait to see what this year's iterations offer.

I am not that pumped about this new element. I have yet to see a sideline reporter used properly in any sports game. They usually have generic lines that add little to the immersion. Erin Andrews was utilized in the same manner in NCAA Basketball and there was very little value added.

If she is implemented in the right way adding meaningful game-specific, player-specific comments that match the action, or historical information, this feature could be a big bonus….

Although, she is a hotty who likes football…Gotta love that.

On a side note if that is an NCAA '10 screenshot they need to tone down the bulkiness of some of the players. Riley Cooper (#11) looks like he is on steroids. From what I've heard on Madden they have significantly tuned the players to look realistic and I was hoping for the same from NCAA but this doesn't look promising. He looks like a LB and I almost didn't even know who he was supposed to be.

Because I did, and what I learned was development teams that try to do too much too soon screw up the whole game. I'll take EA Sports leaving me wanting more every year than making me wish I had never wasted $60 on a piece of junk.

I ask you…is the game SOOO bad that you wish you'd never spent your money? If so, then don't buy it ever again and stop whining. If not, then be patient until they "get it right" instead of wanting what we had in '04 and screwing up the whole game.
