The Wildcat in Madden 10

With the cover news, first footage, event in NY later this week, and the draft day activities there is already a lot to look forward to for Madden 10. Still a new blog went up today with a handful of screenshots showing off the Wildcat with Ronnie Brown and the Dolphins. You can check out the blog posting and screens here and I’ve added the images to the gallery.

Having the Wildcat in will definitely provide some much needed excitement to the games. Last year it was held out because of concerns it would be exploited. However there is much more confidence in the Madden team this year to implement and balance it properly. I can’t wait to run it a few times a game with Seneca Wallace just as the Seahawks plan to do this season.

I dont see the problem with having the wildcat in the game, or with people using it, it shouldnt be THAT hard to stop, i mean its just another formation, if you really have problems stopping it then you shouldnt have an online account, the 3-4 works well against it though usually, as long as you dont have uber slow OLBs

UH!!!! People, have you forgotten what game you playing here. This is Madden, where rag doll offensive linemen and jet packing linebackers rule the day. The running game has ALWAYS been the sore spot of EVERY Madden game and there is nothing to point in the direction that it will change this year.

The addition of the Wild cat will serve nothing more as a gimmick to sell more games and undoubtedly will result in every Tom, Dick, and Harry using it online.

Until Madden Devs learn how to implement a decent running game the wildcat will be just as ineffective as any other running play in the game.

Of course if the Wildcat becomes too effective, which I doubt hightly, it will no doubt be at the expense of the defensive line which will likely forget how to block all of a sudden.

If O-Linemen still can't block it will be pointless. Don't run anything besides HB Draw if you don't want to get stuffed on All Madden…
