Alex Smith has been a bust but to his credit the 49ers ruined his career with 4 offensive coordinators in his 5 years with the team, sort of the same thing that Eli Manning didnt want to deal with when he came out and told the chargers that he would not play for them and everybody cried foul on his part. Singletary is a good coach and i think if your first round is a bust its what you do with the other picks from 2nd round to 7th round that matters and will steer the course of the franchize. Look at the model of New England Patriots, the best player on the team brady was found in later round. heart and soul of the team bruschi was found also in the later round.

You are soo right. Plus there will be no shortage of qb's in the draft next year. and im sure the lions will happen to find themselves in the same spot next year.

Doubtful Butler falls the Phins at 44, I would $hit my pants if he did. I think phins go Corner round 1, WR such as Britt or Nicks 44, and then a NT or LB at 56
