Last week I was able to offer up a bunch of Madden 10 videos from E3. Now lead developer Ian Cummings has posted up a full quarter video of the game captured in HD featuring the Falcons @ Chiefs on All-Pro difficulty.
He has since posted up a full game’s worth of videos on the Inside EA Blog which you can check out here. Continue on to watch the video and leave your thoughts in the comments.

June 12, 2009 at 8:44 pm
First. Looks pretty awesome! If only the Texans weren't a ridiculous 75, they should be in the 80's.
June 12, 2009 at 8:46 pm
2 be the 1st 2 say… Its Looking Good Ian and Phil…Veeeery impressed this year !!!! You got my $60 already…lol

June 12, 2009 at 8:53 pm

June 12, 2009 at 10:39 pm
Yeah B
June 13, 2009 at 12:25 am
yeah look at the video. after they pick the play, the play clock goes to 20 seconds and the game clock goes down as well.
June 12, 2009 at 8:57 pm
pasta, does the gameplay looks like it fades away or it was my pc xP
June 12, 2009 at 8:59 pm
this is the game we have been waiting for …. (exept for the commentators …) the thing with the comentary is they sound like robots …… but not collinsworth ……. i think the fans are from the madden 07 (sounds) …. but overall i love this game … U GUYS HAVE MY 60$ BUCKS ON AUGEST 14TH…………. allot of the same commentary
June 12, 2009 at 9:05 pm
I think the game looks great! I know I'm just nitpicking here, but…NOT ONE SINGLE PENALTY? I see that this is still an issue. Also, I see that getting stopped on the 1-yard line is still a problem again. That happened all too often in Madden 09. I didn't catch much new TV style presentations. Pro-Tak looks great, awesome animations, and the graphics look tight…But…This is on All-Pro? No pressure from the D-Line, and plays seem to be wide-open for running backs. Then again, they are Turner and Johnson. Besides that, it has passed my expectations!
June 12, 2009 at 9:05 pm
Is it my download or does it stutter A LOT? Not just in cut scenes but also during tackles.
June 12, 2009 at 9:10 pm
I think it's my download. I backed the video up some to where it was stuttering and it seamed to clear it up.
June 12, 2009 at 9:12 pm
very good game this yr…i dont have a 360 or a ps3 so i hope that this game is just as good on ps2 as it is here on the 360…….the game was good last yr but this game is looking like one of the greatest games that i have ever seen!!!!!!!!! cant wait…
June 12, 2009 at 9:14 pm
It still shows the wrong team celebrate the fumble recovery. The Falcons got the fumble but the Chiefs acted like they did.
June 12, 2009 at 9:18 pm
Running game looks vastly improved from last year's, but I'm afraid to say that the pass defense is looking pretty bad (check that, very bad). No pressure on the QB and passing lanes big enough to drive a tractor trailer through could potentially kill an otherwise good game for me. Even when the CPU rushed 3 and dropped 8 into coverage, I counted 3 wide open receivers. That should not happen. This has been a concern of mine since seeing the first gameplay footage. All I can hope is that bumping the difficulty up to All-Madden and tuning the sliders will make it more challenging than what I've seen so far. Online franchise is still questionable, but I'm primarily an offline player so CPU AI is very important.
Presentation is much improved, the tackling and running animations seem much more organic, I like that the CPU can actually run the ball this year…there's some good stuff here. Only about two months left till judgement day.
June 12, 2009 at 9:19 pm
With the new ratings system all the teams are slightly lower, but I do agree that the Texans are overrated and I think they could make the playoffs this year.
June 12, 2009 at 9:21 pm
I agree with much of your concerns. I share the same sentiments with regards to terrible defense, especially from the D-Line and coverage. I hope that this doesn't ruin the game.
June 12, 2009 at 9:22 pm
when yall see the full game video by ian, yall will see how far out these guys at ea went. They finally have the playoffs logos ON THE FIELD!!! bump 2k5, this is the game that breaks 2k5's back.
June 13, 2009 at 1:42 am
Saw that vid and just was to easy on OFF tho there was no D and the teams where the Ravens and Titans and there was no D like cmon man that sucks. I think that that game tho was not on all-pro thats y. (I hope)

June 14, 2009 at 6:03 pm
Really? And if you think about that 2k5 statement of yours…2k began development on that game in 2004. They better do something other than buying out the comp out…i mean it's going on 2010! Could you imagine an NFL2k10 game now, without the EA takeover. I mean you still reference back to 2k5. You just gave 2k the biggest compliment, and didn't even know it. lol.
June 12, 2009 at 9:23 pm
Pasta you should tell them to get Gus Johnson in there or the guys from MNF for the commentating seriously.
June 13, 2009 at 5:12 am
commentators def need to be better ..
there need to be 3 guys talking not two get the mnf guys for sure..pasta let it be known brother
fas carl or die
June 12, 2009 at 9:23 pm
Pasta talk to them about this seriously also.
June 15, 2009 at 5:51 am
mayb they r just celebrating they got the sack…period…i mean i celebrate a sack n force fumble weather we get it or not lol
June 12, 2009 at 9:27 pm
great gameplay..
did you all see how they tackled him right before the pylon.
Priceless i love it..
June 12, 2009 at 9:27 pm
Pasta, do you know if the Fight for the Fumble thing comes up on every fumble or just the ones where several players are around the ball at once.
I'm concerned that if it happened every time, the one's where a guy falls on it by himself and should have plenty of time to secure it could still end up giving the other team a good chance to recover it just by winning a button game. I could see where that would get annoying really fast.
June 12, 2009 at 9:29 pm
I just realized this but they have yet to add a play for reverses or trick plays on the kick return =(
June 12, 2009 at 9:31 pm
And does the clock stop on defense everytime when it says "defense pick a play" still i hate that?
June 12, 2009 at 9:35 pm
hey pasta the full game is at this web site its the titans vs. ravens
http://insideblog.easports.com/archive/2009/06/12...
June 12, 2009 at 9:42 pm
I'm assuming you meant to say underrated. Also I really believe the Texans have a legitimate chance not just to make the playoffs, but to win the AFC south. Call me crazy.
June 13, 2009 at 1:30 am
I don't like the Texans (Colts fan) but I think they got a chance to get to the playoffs this year too. As long as there QB Matt there can stay healthy he was not all that bad.
June 13, 2009 at 7:42 pm
crazy
June 12, 2009 at 9:43 pm
Hey Pasta, the commentary changes are minor if there are any. Do you know if this is the commentary for Madden 10 or are they just using the Madden 09 commentary as placeholder until they get the new stuff into the game? Just wondering, thanks.
June 12, 2009 at 9:43 pm
No defense again huh? *sigh*
I was really, really excited for this game. I thought this was going to be the year. But, the coverage is horrendous and the Defensive line gets NO pressure. God Damn it EA! WTF is wrong with you???? Don't you people even watch football?? Seriously…WTF?????
August 12, 2009 at 7:52 pm
oh i guarantee they have dfence i have the demo and if you play all madden youd bettr not b afraid of getting sacked
but overall good game
June 12, 2009 at 9:45 pm
the wildcat is gonna be overused to bad in this game…
June 12, 2009 at 10:00 pm
I'm glad to see the return of accelerated clock. They didn't have the AFL patch on the Chiefs uniforms. This is a permanent addition to their uniform and has been for the last 3 or 4 years. I know it's a minor detail, but they said we'd see everything.
June 12, 2009 at 10:51 pm
you should probably ask them to put it on there if you can pasta
June 12, 2009 at 10:07 pm
I agree two of the nfl's best defensive teams are in a shoot out {ravens vs titans} , c'mon ea make a complete game for once where is the defensive push!!!! thats why I remain skeptical about this game
June 13, 2009 at 1:45 am
I agree but I think that the game was on rookie. I hope
June 13, 2009 at 2:20 am
The game was on All Pro which is a notch below All Madden. I don't think the difficulty settings are going to make much of a difference. The only hope to make this game semi-resemble football is going to be tweaking the sliders and hopefully it makes a difference. Maybe turning up D awareness all the way will improve the CPU coverage, but I doubt it. As long as we have guys like Dustin below worried about AFL patches on uniforms, we're never going to get authenticity in the areas that matter….ah that would be gameplay.
June 12, 2009 at 10:11 pm
I caught that but it won't let me edit it for some reason.
Anyway, your not crazy because I really think that as good as Peyton is, the Colts are on the decline and the Texans would have beaten them last year if it wasn't for Sage Rosenfels trying to fly across the first down marker.

June 12, 2009 at 10:20 pm
Please don't remind of that game lol. The second game between the Texans and the Colts was also winnable if it wasn't for a late Sage interception when the Texans were only down by 6.
June 12, 2009 at 10:31 pm
hey pasta do you know if comp picks are in the game
June 12, 2009 at 10:52 pm
wow ill be sure to turn the half time and post game "shows" off
and my excuse for the 1st vid about no D was that it was the chiefs and falcons
but scoring 35 on the ravens D? really EA?
I was genuinely excited for madden before this, now after watching the vid my heart sank sorry you wont be getting 60 out of me this time
June 13, 2009 at 6:35 am
look its a game…..if a good person ppicks the ravens…then the defense should kick ass…its all about the user……if the user sucks….ravens defense gonna get killed by the lions….there not gonna make it where anyone can pick racens n there defense just gonna kick ass……trust me..there defense is good…user just sucks..
June 12, 2009 at 11:07 pm
There were a few things i'd noticed:
1) overall, defense…….lack of pressure towards the QB and filling the gaps during run plays
2) RBs seem a bit powerful even for the good ones like LJ and MT……..i hope EA tones down the spin move
3) interaction at the line of scrimmage……..it looks improved but i still feel like they are all clumped together.
Overall, i have to give Peter and Ian credit………this game looks improved.
June 12, 2009 at 11:16 pm
looks good
June 12, 2009 at 11:28 pm
Crowd sound is much improved.
June 13, 2009 at 1:01 am
im a little confused why some of you are overly concerned about the lack of d regarding the ravens titans game, specifically the amount of points the ravens gave up. the titans are controlled by a MADDEN LEAD DESIGNER and the difficulty is set on all pro. if it was some bum playing on all madden id be concerned. plus sliders are even left at default, they can be tweaked to make certain things harder or easier u know, relax guys – try playing a skilled player (not comp) on all madden or even all pro and im certain you wont put up 35 on a great defense.. i mean unless your a madden god
something else, im not sure how 10 min q with accelerated clock compares to the traditional 5 min quarters or even 4 min which i think it is online (not 100 percenty sure), but if there is a chance it makes the game slightly longer this could too play a part in the 35 points.
and finally the last td was scored with under 30 secs left in the game via int td.
June 13, 2009 at 1:22 am
You can clearly see that they up the game speed because turner is running like a dart.. i like the gamplay looks alot more fluid.. people with the helmets off look fine you guys complain about dumb stuff.. what about the obvious that should of been fixed.. such as the crowd has looked the same since ps3 and Xbox has launched and that is sad.. the cut scenes look nice but the stadium is packed in every game.. were are the 3d models? dont say it cant be done because MLB THE SHOW has been doing this for a while at 60fps also whats up with the PILON? can it be knocked down? and can helmets come off with jarring hit like madden 02? long as there is a decent amount of user catches and better controls im sold but from what i seen it looks like madden will finally be better than 2k5 after all these years
June 13, 2009 at 3:43 am
why is kicking the same? Its so awful
how come they cannot change the plays in the playbooks. ex nickel d were both lb blitzes is the exact same drawup thing for the last 10 years. add some kind of flare to it for godsake.
and the game looks like the same **** as last year.
June 13, 2009 at 5:47 am
Looks the same as last year?? Are u kidding me?? Get another pair of contacts buddy!
June 13, 2009 at 3:52 am
Why does it say "Cassel threw for 3293 yards during the 2008 season" They never display that on games. It's usually like this:
Matt Casell : 32 TD's 18 INT's
T-1 AFC
That bothers me that it's displayed like that.
June 13, 2009 at 5:44 am
I for one think that these new videos look great. Madden has come so far and I want to thank Ian for doing what he has done and listended to the community. Now I know they dont have a Salary Cap/FA on online franchise. Oh well, the rest is awesome. The few things that I want to point about the videos that I hope they get corrected are as follows:
1. That run defense needs to improve so more or else everybody is going to be rushing for 2,000 yds plus
2. Two referees running down the same sideline on TD's (This video and Chiefs vs. Falcons)
3. Wrong team cheers on recovered fumble.
4. D-Line pressure on QB
June 13, 2009 at 5:46 am
Damn looks so good August 14th can't get here any faster.
June 13, 2009 at 5:52 am
I don't believe anyone mentioned this but did any of you guys who watched the videos notice that all the presentation is done the way NBC does there TV presentation with commentary, stars of the game, and even the scoreboard. I thought EA was supposed to integrate ESPN. Anyone else have a thought on this?
June 13, 2009 at 9:43 am
Yeah, I've noticed this as well. I think the style is probably the best Madden has ever used, but it does seem weird considering the whole ESPN integration thing.
June 13, 2009 at 6:09 am
MADDEN FANS WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS??
HOW ABOUT JOE BUCK AND TROY AIKMAN DO THE COMMENTARY?
June 14, 2009 at 1:41 am
wITH TONY ON THE SIDELINE….I WOULD LOVE IT. ACTUALLY I HOPE IT GETS TO THE POINT WHERE YOUR AFC GAMES ARE CBS AND NFC GAMES ARE FOX AND ESPN IS ON MONDAY NIGHTS……BUT THAT IS WISHFULL THINKING.
JOE BUCK HATES DOING COMMENTARY FOR BASEBALL BUT HE GETS PAID. MADDEN WILL HAVE TO PAY HIM A BUNCH OF MONEY TO GET HIM IN A STUDIO. TROY WOULD BE VERY EXPENSIVE ALSO…..IF THERE WAS NOT MONEY CAUGHT UP IN AN EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH THE NFL THEY MIGHT HAVE THE EXTRA $$ FOR THAT.
June 13, 2009 at 1:33 am

June 13, 2009 at 2:59 am
in one of the vids where pasta was playin vs the skins he gets cracked on a kick off return and we (the REDSKINDS babyY!! lol) pick it up without a button mashing game and scored…so i dont think that it will always pop up maybe if there are just alot of ppl from both teams
June 13, 2009 at 8:19 pm
Nah im pretty sure i remember reading somewhere that EA didnt want it to happen to many times in a game so it didnt lose its appeal to quickly, so they said it might happen maybe once in a game? depending on the type of fumble i guess and how the players react to it.
June 13, 2009 at 8:19 pm

June 13, 2009 at 9:32 am
After hearing the commentary in a few videos, this is definitely a game where I'm going to be listening to music while playing.
June 13, 2009 at 2:56 pm
Agree 100%. Even if he is a former Bengal I cannot stand Collinsworth and I don't know of anyone who can stand him. Plus the only thing I've seen Hammond commentate on before the ARZ-ATL playoff game was horse racing. He is even more annoying.
June 13, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Pasta, I have a question regarding this year's Madden that I don't think has been answered yet this year: do they still have the dynamic difficult levels? (Madden IQ) I loved the idea and even though it wasn't that great last year, it usually takes until year 2 for a specific feature to be as good as expected.
