Madden 10 Player Ratings

After responding to a ton of Madden NFL 10 player ratings requests in the previous posting I took on the task of putting them all together in a document. Included are the full rosters, overall ratings, and at many positions the speed and acceleration ratings. You can download the spreadsheet here.

I am really looking forward to seeing how the spread out ratings affect the game. It makes the strengths and weaknesses of each team apparent and depth becomes more important. Users will have to strategically consider each team’s personnel. It should really open things up with the games better resembling what would be seen in the NFL.

You also gave to take into consideration Game Speed as aposed to 40 speed. I coach Varsity Corners in Texas a pretty darn good 5A program. I have a Corner who will be playing for OU (:() next year. Now 40 time he is only 4.55. But he’s so technically sound and good with his hands. He plays so damn fast. Faster than any other kid I’ve coached.
Terrance Newman- 4.31 I’ve seen him get beat deep multiple times and I love the Cowboys.
40 times don’t always mean anything.
Terrel Owens- 4.5 He stretches the field very well as many of us have seen.

My comment was to make a point that I'm sure these players who have slower speeds can make it up in other areas!! What I was saying is that just because EA makes a player as fast as someone on here wants doesn't mean that they are going to beat a corner deep every throw. Or in Terrance Newmans case doesn't mean they wont get beat deep. Nobodies knocking on T-New. Hell not only do I have his Jersey, but I was at 3 games last year. Already have tickets for thanksgiving day this year at the New (JerryDome) Stadium. Hell i played the position in College, now I coach it. 4.2 guys don't mean SHIT at Corner if they have no damn technique. Read post a little closer next time buddy. Read between the lines. Rookies seem to have a little advantage over veterans…for example Josh Freeman is a 73 and Brady Quinn is a 71….Kerry Collins is a 79 and Sanchez is a 78, and Stafford is 79 too…. i'm not saying Quinn and Collins are beasts but you get the point..same thing happens with WRs and everything…I know that having a 70 overall first round pick is kinda controversial, but if EA changes the rating system, they should do it right!

this only Eagles.. most ratings are 100% spot on.. others are horrible.. this game is done on pro bowls by the looks of it.. i'm disappointed in kevin curtis' rating.. 76? damn.. yeah he was injured but he was better than jackson when he returned.. more catches more yards… more td's. Everything else on offense is fine..

on Defense.. DB's spot on… front 7… completely wrong.. as bleed Green stated above.. the stats are there.. top 3 D and our linebackers are in the 70's? Stewart Bradley was named to the second all pro team by the critics… only 2 LB's ahead of him.. Pat Willis and Ray Lewis.. trent cole and Brod Bunkley are fine.. patterson fine.. jaqua parker.. mayb + 2 , but darren howard has been robbed.. he had 10 sacks tied with trent cole and he gets a 78? come on… 82 at least..

some silly calls on speed and things by the sound of it.. ie freeney and pat willis.. but well done EA

u damn retards look around some more at the exl. at the bottom u see teams like batlmore and dallas. click on that lil arrow thing. it will go to the next one. oh yea kinda gay how some of the linebackers or safeties are faster than everyone else on their team. i wonder how will a guy will jump to a 89 after being rated in the 60s. it also seems like the 96 speed for players b4 is now slower. does this mean the rookie who have speed that fast will be lowered if they do bad this season. oh well time will tell but this spreading out of the ratings might be a bad idea. they should have just redone the speed rating for the players and not care about the ranting of the fans.

There are obviously some people who feel like X should be Y speed and how is X faster than Z but like I said its pretty much par for the course when it comes to madden. I don't agree with a lot of the ratings of Bills players, namely Leodis McKelvin only having 89 speed when he was the top corner taken in last years draft and ran 4.38-4.42 that sounds faster than 89 speed to me. It is what it is guys, take you're roster and modify it to your liking ya dig?

I keep hearing people upset about Darren Howard. Yes he did have 10 sacks but like i always say it's not always about the sacks. He got his sacks in clean up duty and was just a situational player. His rating is just fine. Now on the other hand Bradley's rating is way off. Bradley was solid vs the run and can get to the ball anywhere on the field. He rarely gets knocked down and is a good finisher. He only has 2 knocks which are his awareness vs the pass but he shored that up towards the end of the season and his lack of turnovers. He was a top 5 middle LB last year and I see him getting even better this year.

LT's speed is 90 when just last year he was a 96… I mean yeah he got injured, but hes healthy now so how the hell does his speed go down by 6? Tom Brady was out the whole season why is he a 97 and not a 80? These guys make no sense. And LT runs a 4.38 40yd dash but his speed is 90, compared to Brian Westbrook who runs a 4.57 40yd dash but his speed is 94… explain?

Tom Brady is 97 ovr because a leg injury should not heavily affect his arm and thinking.

As for the 40 times, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE 40 TIMES DO NOT TRANSLATE TO PLAYING FIELD SPEED. If it did, Deangelo Hall would never get burned deep, Donte Stallworth would outrun everyone and Greg Jennings would be a possesion receiver.
