Madden 10 Demo Now Available

The first set of demos for Madden NFL 10 have gone live for the 360 and will later this afternoon for the PS3. The Gamestop preorder codes will unlock the five minute quarters demo for the 360 and PS3 and XBL Gold members also have access to the public one minute quarters demo. The extended one features the Super Bowl rematch of Cardinals vs Steelers with the short one offering the Cowboys vs Giants. Next Thursday will bring about the arrival of the public demo for the PS3 and XBL Silver members.

After playing the demo (or possibly both of them) leave your thoughts in the comments! I’ll look to get some videos up this evening and compare to the E3 build. The demos will likely have been from a post-E3 build though not from the final one meaning there may have been some slight improvements or changes made for release.

man coverage is a little better than 09 and corners still jump higher than receivers a lot of the time but overall better than 09

I like the demo. The only thing that I wish EA would fix is how the sideline players look like cardboard cut outs. The sideline cutscenes are great but with all this technology & the power of the Next Gen consoles, why can't the sideline players look like they do in the cutscenes during gameplay? I hate to sound nitpicky but it took EA 5 years just to get refs & chaingangs so I hope it doesn't take another 5 to fix the sideline players. Also just to add to that, it's about time we get some collision detection for the sidelines as well. It's almost 2010 and we shouldn't have players walking through players on the sidelines after a play. Hopefully these things will be on the top of list for Madden 11. Other than that I can't find much fault with the game (other than the game speed being a little too slow for my taste but at least we have sliders). Good job EA.

the demo is great so far (the 5 min one) but they should seriously fix the running game via patch, and if they can't, put Adrian Peterson on the cover next year and make that their main focous, but overall it has to be an A

I had this problem with last year's game and I have it with this year's as well: When playing a real-life opponent who passes on every down (aka my little brother) even when using cover 4 in the quarter formation EVERY DOWN I am unable to do ANYTHING against long passes. Unbelievable, does anybody else have this problem???

you need to apply pressure when someone does that to me I go dime strike 2 deep ..2 corners blitz and I cover thwe routes myself with one of the subbed in LB from the line…so its still just a 5 man rush but 2 of those are corners..not enough time for someone to get deep….most of the time

The thing that impreses me most is the improvement in the run game. The blockers are a little smarter than they were and if you are patient and follow them you can get rewarded with big runs. Sweeps work like they should. last year the running game still felt out of control and clumsy. The running back controls feel right in this version.
Using the right stick for the defensive manuvers is awesom as well. rushing the passer is fun again…
I used to be a 2k fanboy because it just felt more like real football and i have to say this has that feeling now..Its not slow ..once the guys get a head of steam its fast they just cant accelerate to thier top speed immediatley like they used to .

all in all it has finally put 2k football away in my eyes. Great job EA Im glad I got on board and cant wait…J E T S running all over you

You Madden Sheep see cut scenes of the NO FUN LEAGUE and cream your shorts..Madden look like 2-D sprites running around on a oversized field….Don't buy Madden 2010…Show some common decency…..

APF 2K8 is leaps and bound more realistic then this crap….but the majority of consumers are just mindless automatons of the combined marketing influences of EA, The NFL and Pop Culture…
Logos and Flash is all you sheep care about..Oh I forgot TARDCHISE also….it makes me puke…..

Overall the game looks good and the speed is a little slow but, I will reserve my judgement on that until the final release. Didn't know that you had to use the right thumb stick for defensive line moves that will change my experience the next time I play. The fight for the fumble…I've played the 5min demo three times and that has happen one or more times in each game (3x in one game) I think that will get old quick….lets wait and see.

I agree with StLuatic I won't be getting this game either. The game doesn't live up to the hype. A bunch of giddy Madden fans keep saying this will be the best football game ever, but it's not that great.

BEST Madden, letters on the back, Romos throwing motion, Witten's backwards hat, the way Brandon JAcobs ran into the saefty head down, and kinda fell into him in the snow, the accel is great, coachs look great, and I think I liked the cut scenes the most, made it exciting…for once, I've been a Madden fan since I maybe 92', this is badass!!
