As always it is a difficult process to arrange a community based initiative or event. There is a huge amount of interest which is great, but it also inevitably means I won’t be able to involve everyone who wants to be. Thanks to the people who took the time to sign-up in the forum for consideration for the Pastapadre Madden 10 Online Franchise. Continue on to check out the roster of owners, waiting list, and some basic details of the league.

Details
Settings will be on All-Pro difficulty with either 8 or 9 minute quarters utilizing accelerated clock. If accelerated clock is not an option then quarters will be either 6 or 7 minutes. The franchise will advance every Saturday and Wednesday night. So one “week” of games will be completed within the Sunday-Wednesday night frame, and the next “week” is done in the Thursday-Saturday night frame. Anyone who is not actively communicating on the forums will be at risk of replacement. All trades must be approved by the commissioner or could be struck down if 20 of the 32 owners vote against it. The structure for how to handle free agency has not yet been determined. The franchise will be set up immediately after game release, with week one of the season opening on Wednesday August 19th.

Updates on the franchise will be posted about on the website and will also take advantage of as as-of-yet unannounced website feature here that is currently being constructed.

Waiting List
For those who didn’t make this initial list of owners don’t lose hope. I fully expect there to be a couple new people in by the start of week one. It is likely due to whatever reasons that a few of the current owners will drop out by then.

The waiting list will work as follows. Any time an opening comes arises I will post about it in the forum. After a few hours or up through the end of that day there will be the opportunity to express interest in the thread. If one of those people is from the list original signups below they will be chosen. If not I will look at various factors in making the decision.

Got a few dudes at work and on the FD so we are thinking of doing a FD vs PD league. Prob advance once a week because of schedules but we plan on have all FD in AFC and all of PD in NFC with a Fantasy draft. Waiting to see who all actually buys the game first.

Free Agents. This is how my league has agreed to handle it. We will use it like a draft in the first season. Before the season starts we will pick free agents from the lowest rated team to the highest. Once we are done it will be on a need basis. In following seasons since there is no salary cap I think Free Agents will be rarely used because no one will get rid of good players.

We're thinking of a way to force teams to have free agents every year. It could be something as simple as you have to leave one 90+ player, two 80-89 players, three 70-79 players, and so on "unprotected" and into free agency. Then its just a matter of finding a way to distribute them. Maybe a bidding process.

I would love to have Free Agency more active but just can not figure out how to do it. My leagues have been pretty successful in the past and I have found the more complicated I make it the harder it is to keep everyone happy. So finding a simple way to do this is tough.

Or you could just put these players in a pool and conduct a draft during the free agent period. Much like keeper leagues do in fantasy sports. Keeps the bidding process out of it.

BOTH the bears and the packers have franchise qb's and the viqweens have a piece of shit list of qb's …

the vikings are really called the viking because the team sucks balls but A.P. is the only player making it possible to be called competitive …. the bears have a RB the doesnt fumble everytime he fucking gets called on …. he can catch too so i am not saying we have a better one but we can count on him and not worry about him fumbling…

the vikings suck way more a recivers than da bears for da truth because we have allot of fucking tallent and you dont know that yet but just watch …

the tight end position doesnt do much for you but i think that the chicago bears have one of the best tandoms in da league … suck it fuck face…

the offensive line … u guys win by a small margin but you guys are just a one man team …. cock suckers …

the deffensve line is pretty fucking good but they do take drugs so i dont know

the linbackers are overrated as hell and the bears and packers are way better than the viqweens
