The weekly series of blogs for NBA Live 10 continues with a focus this time around on upgrades to the presentation. Several areas are touched on including playoff atmosphere, authentic sounds, new replays, removal of cut scenes, and storylines in dynasty mode. Presentation was a big focus for us this year and encompassed a lot of different things: The broadcast look (overlays, screen wipes, replays). The broadcast sound (Marv Albert and Steve Kerr). The arena life (crowd, bench players, referees, dance teams and cheerleaders). The arena sounds (crowds, PA announcers, sound effects and ditties). And, stoppages in play (player emotions and reactions, player interactions). Our goal was to make every game unique and authentic this year by taking all of these into account. In addition, we wanted to make sure the regular season was different than the playoffs.

Never trust EA, if it is about screenshots.

But I like the details of the arms, You can see every little muscle, thats cool. But the body is still not correct, players do not have real legs, and the uniform is just hanging on them.

I used to suck Vince Carter's dick for free front row seats at New Jersey Net games when I was in Jersey. Now when I go to Florida, I will have to call VC and let him release his anger by fuc#ing me up the a#s. I love how it feels. I will be getting Madden 10 the first day it ships at a Mom&Pop store, however i will give mad bjs and will catch to get it for free instead of spending 60 plus tax on it. It doesnt bother me since i love the big fat smelly hairy hard pink black yellow di#k. My favorite is swallowing the white salty stuff.

I would hope that EA knows that the Orlando Magic are one of the NBA teams that does not allow headbands to be worn, Courtney Lee being an exception with his facemask. That shot also shows the absence of Jameer's "All Eyes On Me" tattoo across his shoulders.

The article was interesting, especially the chants. I switched to the NBA2k series with the release of 2k for Dreamcast and have stuck with it since, and would like to see 2k to add some more of those features.

Feel free to actually improve the gameplay while you're at it! Until they get that right, the window dressing that is the rest of this stuff is pointless. They can add all the bells and whistles they want, but if the gameplay stinks (which it has for years) what's the point?

Last year was the first year I gave Live some real playing time. The DNA system was great, the game itself still lacked in simple basketball mechanics making it just a step behind 2K. I'm hearing a lot of great things this year not only about presentation but about the gameplay so I'm very excited for the coming season. One minor detail Live needs to address is coaching changes. Sorry, but in my opinion it's just not a next gen sports game if you can't fire the coach and their staff two weeks into the season.

We go through this every year I used to defend live but now Im wondering why we even discuss it! Live has been a second class game for years now and now I am supposed to believe it is going to be so much better come on! Game play is issue not facial expressions or crowds or player dna,

Just a fyi for some of you who say things like this. When you build a video game, you have more thatn 1 person on the team. We don't just sit in a room and say "we're only working on this this year." We have a lot of people on our team that specialize in specific areas. We have more resources put towards our gameplay than any other area (Front End, Online, Presentation, Visuals). We know where the importance is, trust me…

Another FYI — when we release information, it's just that, nothing else. No reason at all to infer, or question whether we worked on gameplay because frankly, that doesn't make sense. Naturally we have PR calendar of when we can release information. If something comes before gameplay, it's ludicrous to think we didn't do anything to gameplay because we had facial expression and player DNA that we happened to discuss first. We had such an overhaul to gameplay that PR wanted to speak about it later to build some sort of anticipation. If we (the dev team) could, we'd tell you guys everything right now…
