Madden 10 WIP Broadcast Camera Angle

I would prefer a 3/4 camera angle like the old "Play Action Football" game featured more than a broadcast angle to play in.

This LOOKS good from a standpoint of what they are trying to achieve but playing on it would be a little disorienting. I like it…but don't know if I would play on it but maybe one or two games JUST to change up the monotnony (sp) of playing on the regular camera…..

Lol I cannot see anyone playing on this camera angle. They should spend their time on working on something that people would actually use.

this is great news IMO. I'm the type of player that always disects plays after a big one so this is very much welcomed to me. I will play with this camera angle during the season no doubt.

I agree with Pasta. The camera needs to follow the action… not keep the ball centered. The scoreboard on the bottom needs to fade out too.

It reminds me of Joe Montana Football for the PC. Anyone remember that game?

I could seeing playing the game that way BUT I think it would make running even harder. You would not be able to see the holes open up at all.

I doubt most people will use this mode to play with. Personally, I think this is a good mode for coaching your team or watching a game simulate. I would definitely use this camera in those scenarios.

It also makes keeping an eye on the pressure put on your QB harder while looking down field for an open guy.

I would like to see this as a REPLAY camera angle but as a gameplay angle? not for me. I have allways wanted them to make replay cameras from the stadium seats, like anywhere in the stadium you can drag the camera there and watch.

FA's should be just fine in the game. My OF's is going to be doing it draft style should work out just fine. What do you have a problem with FA's tho? I'm just wondering if you know something I don't about it.

I love it! Yes, it would take some getting used to, and I don't know how they will adjust for downfield passes, but it's looking great so far. Really shows they are listening to the community and that's good no matter how it comes out. At least they are trying to please the fans that want to see this.

I agree on that, but we're talking about different areas here. The guy concentrating on the camera angle isn't who would be spending time working on those features for OF.

hey pasta, sorry to jump off subject but do you think there is any way a patch for ncaa 10 to allow the use of a free number edit. (double jersey numbers) alot of teams have players that switch numbers. it would help make rosters more accurate. thanks pasta

this angle would be perfect for a spectator mode for online franchise. how cool would be to watch other owners games like a madden broadcast channel

Ya, they should move the camera angle more behide the quarterback at a angle. Then you could see more up field and it would be more easy to be able to judge distances. That would be sweet!!

That might actually be one of the reasons they made this because I did remember them say that they're working on ways to look-in on a live game.

I still have a question about regular franchise mode. Will CPU teams offer my team trades? And will they trade with each other? It makes franchise mode very odd if there are no trades going on throughout the league.

I dont think it is realistic to play on this angle. They may be wasting thier time with this effort. I would actually like to see a broadcast option as an alternative vidieo. Lets say I am playing against someone in a public tournament. I would like to be able to broadcast the game, without broadcasting my tactics.

Im a 2K fan(imoved on), and madden 10 should be the best madden made to date IMO… ilove this angle.. if they can & do fix it to where it is more playable that would be great… 09 IMO was the worst madden game I played do to continuous freezing..

what a waste of time, money and effort by EA to work something only a handful of people would use. i'm losing more and more interest in madden. use more time on improved gameplay instead.

My first thought was NO WAY, but with the right touch I think this might actually work. Who says classic view is the only way to play? One suggestion I would make is to zoom the camera in a little before the snap, then zoom out only if it's a pass play.

extra pts would have to stay as the classic camera…also the kick off return the camera should follow the ball down field so it keeps the same sided angle to see more of the field… and having the stat bar fade out when the ball snaps will help

Two things i would like to say: 1st; kicking field goals with this view will be horrific for USERs, especially if there is wind. 2ndly, I believe with this camera angle added, we as decent players will be in for a world of glitches!!!! mark my words. Just clean up what you have right now EA. I would suggest having a "Roam free" cam when you are making your highlights (like NBA LIVE 09) would be IDEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your replay Value would just go up 10 fold. let's do this DEV-Team.

Nobody plays at that angle. I'll just watch the computer play at that angle, like on PS2 & Gamecube.

this would be great for showing off the game to someone. it really looks just like a fox or espn broadcast.

I love this angle! I think best solution for everyone would be a user defined custom camera. Great job though madden way to go above and beyond finally!

Still negative comments…? Madden 2009 didn't even have more than two camera angles. I do know those people who speak ill of Madden prefer ESPN 2K5 but one thing that made 2K5 great was the extra camera angles (even one similar to this one). Madden 10 is by far looking like the best football game for the 21st century.

AWESOME! Even if you dont play on it, to watch a game or see replays from this angle would be an outstanding option. Like Padre said if it could be adjusted to see further downfield instead of having extra space behind the QB I think it would work great!

Do we know why they chose this camera angle to add instead of Long View? How hard is it for them to also add Long View? I believe this was the most commonly asked for camera view that was left out of the game.

Although it will be hard (for most) to acustom to this new angle, many (including myself) have taken the past games and have crested a side-custom view if alloted by the the game makers. It will add I think the ‘finishing touch’ to what some would consider finally the “COMPLETE MADDEN GAME”
