Madden 10 Roster Update #2 Details

Here are the full details of the roster update released for Madden 10 earlier this morning. This is the second update since the game has been released and includes the high profile additions of Brett Favre to the Vikings and Michael Vick to the Eagles. At this point it is unknown if updates will continue each week through the preseason or if the next one will come after the rosters are finalized for the regular season. Continue on for a look at all the changes in this update.

Chris Simms – 70 OVR (was 68)….+2
Kyle Orton – 73 OVR (was 74)….-1
David Harris – 79 OVR (was 74)….+5
Aaron Brown – 67 OVR (was 64)…+3
Haloti Ngata – 92 OVR (was 90)…+2
Kelly Gregg – 83 OVR (was 77)…+6…(Gregg recently named Top 10 Overall DT in NFL according to Scouts Inc. – #8 overall.)
Darren Sproles – 83 OVR (was 85)….-2
Leon Washington – 80 OVR (was 79)….+1
Ryan Harris – 85 OVR (was 74)…+11…severely underrated OL, Denver actually ranked as #3 and #1 against the run and pass.

R.Gallery a 79? The guy is an 83 at least at LG! McFadden 79, lower than K.Moreno? Did anyone, anywhere have Moreno ranked higher while both were in college? I'm not saying D-Mac should be in the 90s but at least 82!

And Gallery as an 83 is just stupid…He struggled at LT his whole carrer and got pushed inside to guard just to see if he could actually peform better. He sucked at LT, but those that have followed his career know he's played LG at near a pro-bowl level the last 2 years. Which is quite an accomplishment since his LT's playing next to him were friggin' Barry Sims and Lame Harris. Even mentioning his play at LT when evaluating his play at LG is ridiculous. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

That's like us racing cars, you have a Vette and I have a Hyundai, but you blow out two tires and I beat you. Then I say, I have a better car than you do because I had a better time in the race, giving no mention of the fact that you blew out 2 tires. I hope you guys don't seriously think Gallery is any good. He's a bust, big time. He was considering one of the greatest NFL tackle prospects ever coming out of Iowa, now he's an average left guard. When a guy is drafted that high at tackle, it's fair to bring up his awful numbers at the position he was drafted. He's just not good.

He was a bust at LT but he's turning into a very good guard. He's not the first player to do so…ever hear of the name Tony Mandarich? He was one of the biggest busts ever at LT…I'm sure you've heard of that story. However, what you don't hear is that he became a probowl guard. So what did his play at LT have to do with his play at LG? NOTHING. Totally different skill set. It's not quite apples to oranges, but it is apple to at least pears.

Gallery, since switching to LG and playing in the zone blocking scheme has flourished and become a very good guard. If you only listen to hype, you wouldn't know that. If you've watched him play, singled him out in games and focused on him, you'd see a damn good guard. Last year, he had only one penalty called against him, which is one of the barometers you use for O-Linemen. He's a good run blocker and was one of the reasons the Raiders have had a rushing attack in the top 6 the past 2 years. He was also the Raiders best and most consistent lineman last year, (outside of the great performance that Mario Henderson displayed after he got to start at the end of the year).

So…If he sucks so badly, can you at least explain WHY you think he sucks?

I hope you guys don't seriously think Gallery is any good. He's a bust, big time. He was considering one of the greatest NFL tackle prospects ever coming out of Iowa, now he's an average left guard. When a guy is drafted that high at tackle, it's fair to bring up his awful numbers at the position he was drafted. He's just not good.

He was a bust at LT but he's turning into a very good guard. He's not the first player to do so…ever hear of the name Tony Mandarich? He was one of the biggest busts ever at LT…I'm sure you've heard of that story. However, what you don't hear is that he became a probowl guard. So what did his play at LT have to do with his play at LG? NOTHING. Totally different skill set. It's not quite apples to oranges, but it is apple to at least pears.

Gallery, since switching to LG and playing in the zone blocking scheme has flourished and become a very good guard. If you only listen to hype, you wouldn't know that. If you've watched him play, singled him out in games and focused on him, you'd see a damn good guard. Last year, he had only one penalty called against him, which is one of the barometers you use for O-Linemen. He's a good run blocker and was one of the reasons the Raiders have had a rushing attack in the top 6 the past 2 years. He was also the Raiders best and most consistent lineman last year, (outside of the great performance that Mario Henderson displayed after he got to start at the end of the year).

So…If he sucks so badly, can you at least explain WHY you think he sucks?

Hopefully that is a typo that Terrance Copper was added to the Chiefs instead of Ashley Lelie. I think Copper was already on the roster if I am not mistaken.

DE/DT Vaughn Martin added to roster. Backup for DE Luis Castillo or Cesiare/Bingham.
DE Andre Coleman removed from roster.
DE Jacques Cesaire starting over Ryon Bingham.
FB Jacob Hester moved to #1 FB on depth chart.
WR Buster Davis INJ rating lowered tremendously. If LT is a 77, then this guy should be a 50.
SS Steve Gregory added to roster.
RB Darren Sproles RET rating increased. How his return rating is in the 70s I'll never know..

I could not agree with you more….they have failed to address Sproles return rating when he is one of the best in the lg/ Also missing key players on defense is bad. Gregory is competing with Hart for the starting spot and Martin is likely to be starting for Bingham while he is out. Bingham was the starter BTW, not Cesaire.
