Madden 10 AFL DLC Details

After first appearing accidentally in other regions it has been a wait for official details on the AFL downloadable content for Madden 10. As first reported here last week the DLC would not be free. Instead it will be seven dollars or the equivalent 560 MS points. The content will be available to download on Thursday September 24th for the PS3 and 360.

The DLC pack includes the AFL Legacy jerseys, five new achievements/trophies, and five new Madden Moments. There is also the unique retro-style presentation which sounds similar what the MVP Baseball series did with games played in historic stadiums. Can someone explane to me this "AFL Invades Franchise Mode"? Is it like a new Franchise mode JUST with AFL teams with Classic players? Or today's players? Or is it just play with these teams in normal Franchise mode just with new jerseys? If it's just pretty much that I don't want it but, if it's with classic players, and other cool stuff I want it.

Hah, no money from me for this. Next year they'll be charging for the entire collection of alternates and throwbacks. Soon Franchise mode will cost extra. This is ludicris.

Are they gonna charge for the gameplay patches too? As much as we've supported Madden over the years, this type of stuff should be free. So we're getting this DLC on Sept 24 which probably means that the 2nd patch (which will be the patch that significantly fixes gameplay) probably wont be out til November. By that time I will have already lost interest in Madden because I'll be playing games like NBA 2K10, Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2, Forza 3, etc… Way to go EA!

i was hoping at least the unis would be free and already in the game, but since there is extra content (madden moments, extra presentation) i can rationalize paying for it. excited about paying for it? no. games are insanely expensive anyway, but i'm a sucker. i want the yellow broncos unis and am an afl fan, so i'll do it. also psyched about the orange ref unis.

You know this is EA's way to help pay for that NFL exclusive license. With Madden sales slumping(btw where are the updates for that? I know NPD drops on Thursday) dont be surpised when Madden 11 drops and youll have to pay $10 because they didnt include the ball next year.
Ill pass on paying for uniforms. I dont see NBA Live charging for throwbacks when they included those free… If you buy this DLC, you are just showin gEA they can get away with this.

Of course thats an exaggeration but all the sports games have different DLC elements to help offset costs of development. Live has the 365/DNA that you need to buy new copies to get for free, 2K has the Draft Combine, NHL has a bunch of paid DLC equipment, and so on…

If the saints were an AFL team I would definitely get it but since they aren't and I don't really use too many other teams I'll probably pass on this one. Though the retro style might be interesting would like to see a vid of that if you get it pasta.

Hey pasta any news on the 3rd roster update, looking forward to it, seeing as there has been a fair bit of change to the seahawks roster compared to what they have on the game atm, theyre gunna have to add guys like, reed, bennett, walker and teel to the game.

THESE JERSEYS should already be in. Same with the madden moments. Stadiums should be unlocked by gameplay rip off $7 bucks. There are 1000 different types of scenario things i can get with that $7.

They've had this for a while, or at least had it in the works for a while. In the pictures they show Derrick Burgess playing on the Raiders. He was traded back on August 6th.

I will buy day 1. This adds so much replay value to the game. I spent 80+ on it and will spend more to make it last. Great idea EA! I love when they hold back stuff from the main game, then release it later to keep it fresh. Great thinking!

I'm a little torn on this. I was anticipating the extra commentary, but they didn't mention it at all. Won't they HAVE to add commentary… or when you're playing as the Oilers will they be saying "Titans" all the time? I like the new sepia presentation. That should be interesting.

It would also be nice to have rosters from back then, perhaps best player at each position for each team over the time of the league. But I realize that would cost a lot more money.

7 bucks is not that much. That's basically the cost of a lunch. Im not getting Madden until the end of the month anyways. I think I'll get this when it comes out.

if the titasn werent included i would probably pass but since it has the titans well oilers ill have to get it. As long as the roster is fixed, why they took out william hayes is beyond me, same with stanford keglar. accurate rosters and ill get it.

Ridiculous… well time to sell Madden and wait for nba2k10. I gave them this year to wow me and what they do is give me a game with a bugged franchise, watered down online franchise, and the BIlls all white jerseys if I'm willing to pay $7 for it (only jersey I was looking forward to). They wonder why so many ppl buy it used and sell it, it's because of bullshit like this. I'm hoping and praying their sales drop dramatically again next year because I'm sick of this.
