NBA Live 10 Demo Now Available

The demo for NBA Live 10 is now available for the 360. It will be out for the PS3 next Thursday the 17th. The demo entails two, four minute quarters with a rematch of the NBA Finals as the Orlando Magic visit the Los Angeles Lakers with adjustable difficulty levels. There is also the “Hangar” where you can shoot around and practice the controls.

Feel free to leave your thoughts on the demo in the comments. Check out the blog from EA which features detailed listings of the controls and features that can be experimented with in the demo. I’ll be posting up impressions and HD videos this evening.

I haven't bought Live since it was on the old Gen (Carmelo on the cover) and I gotta admit. This game is insane. NBA 2K7, 2K8, and 2K9 have absolutely nothing on this. The videos online don't do this game much justice. It runs alot smoother and the player control is crazy.

Also, the game plays in proportion better than any I have ever seen. The player models are proportionate to the court. The verticle height on dunks is realistic (everyone who dunks isn't looking eye-level with the rim), and the game "feels" great..

And the contexual crossoverS, behind the backs, etc. with the left analog has ISOMotion CRUSHED! Throw in the right stick and it's OVER!

I'm no fan boy and I just want a great game…I can't see 2K10 beating this.

Hey man, I am on the same boat… except it might have been long since I bought an EA Basketba;ll game. 2K has really run things in the past.

But this one has had me thinking that this is the year to make the switch. I havent played the demo yet, but will when I get home later, but it is good to see someone who is similar to me (in that you have been a 2K guy for the past few years) really digging this game…

Ultimately I will make my decision based on how each demo feels, and on the word of those game journalists whom I often agree with, but Live is defitinely in the lead and hit mini review helps cement that for now.

Well said and agreed. It's the control that is so amazing and the gameplay feels right and this is just the demo. So can you imagine the full version. I think to will be good but Live is great and for the first time in years I'm happy to just purchase Live rather than 2K .

I have bought 2K for as long as i can remember and playing the Live demo has me sold. This is a great game. i expected EA to put out another claymation piece of crap but they have truly put together a great game. It flows so much smoother than in past years and i believe it's the first true simulation of a basketball game ever.

I was kind of skeptical about live 10 but after playing demo, Live has totally revamped their engine and seems to be on the right track. I do have a problem with the shine on the players (Lebron, Kobe for example) looks like they are white other than that it's a great game. 2k10 is still the game I prefer however, Live 10 is no longer a rental but I will purchase this game as well. Finally both NBA games will be amazing. Let The Battle Begin!!!!

In this day and age, if you have a quality product you want to show it off so as to get people amped for your game. 2k continues to keep their sports games in secrecy. My thought is that like all there other sports titles, NBA 2k10 won't be that special and most likely will be the same rehashed game as its predacessors. 2k makes a quality basketball game but who wants to pay full price for a game whose biggest innovation is a roster change. NBA Live Series has demonstrated that greatness is a process and they continue to build on there previous successes instead of resting on them like 2k. Live 10 could be the proverbial straw to break the 2k camels back. Basketball is the only sports game they have left and its looks like IT won't even be the best one this year.

nba live 10 is awesome being as though i been palying 2k for the last couple years,the controls are a bit confusing.but i suggest if live really want their fans back then they should give an option of using 2k's controller setting so people wont have to readjust,but other then that live is back baby

Well, I'd say keep ur own controller setup. It could be a sustainable competitive advantage. As most users prefer R-Stick control over Iso Motion.

yeah that doesn't make any sense really considering Lives control scheme is WAY ahead of 2K, it's layered nicely. You just have to adjust to the direction live is going with the controls which are the tightest I've ever played in a basketball game.

But also, in 2k you can feel the players weight. and the player's bodies are better proportioned. I played the demo for live, and derek fisher looks like a skinny twig PG. in real life, he is short and bulky. same with jameer nelson, he has the same body type as fisher, but in the game, neither of them look like they do in real life. I am mostly going to buy 2k, even though live is finally atleast fun to play. the last few years, live was basically unplayable.

Live was out long before 2k has been and it was 2k who changed the control scheme from the standard, which was live. If anyone should change 2k should revert back.
