Madden 10 Patch #1 Now Available

The first patch for Madden 10 has now gone live for both the 360 and PS3. Details on what this patch addresses are below. A second patch taking even more community feedback into consideration is currently in the works.

Added Super Bowl and Playoff field conditions in Online Franchise

Fixed false start griefing issue with online games

Fixed video player issues (sometimes video would hang) in Online area

Improved quality of uploaded video highlights

Switched ranked online games to seven minute quarters

Random stability fixes

Added playable broadcast camera angle

Tuned slider effectiveness

Made fatigue affect ratings more

Tuned broken tackle chances

Reduced/removed holding on kick attempts

Improved-toe drag catch logic

General pursuit improvements

Man coverage improvements

Fixed double pass online exploit

All & all I can definitely see a difference. When a running back goes to the flats my linebacker is right there. There's still some issues but I see progress being made thats all I can ask for now just hit me with the roster update and GET IT RIGHT!!!

Hey Pasta fatigue injuries areno longer a factor. I just played two games online and and no one came out due fatigue or injurie. Does that ever happen on Sunday or Saturday? I understand the reduction in holding calls on field goals but it shouldn't be totally eliminated. Why did the time need to be increased to seven minutes. Where is the bucs retro road jersey, you know the white jersey with orange letters and numbers. Due to the fatigue and injurie change this patch sucs. It alot of strategy and realism out of the game.

Its not like players come out of the game that often .
Besides u can change ur sub in sub out stuff

I would say that DT's and Linebackers do change often WR not as often unless there is a specific reason why, RB's change alot though so if this patch shows that, that is great.

they needed to increase it to 7 min, maybe even 9 min next time.
When it was 5 min, i used to control the ball for almost the entire 1st half. Thats not realistic at all.

THE BEST UPDATE IS THE RB DOWNGRADE.. I hate this because I run 70/30 but now I cant use FRANK the TANK GORE to run through an entire team!!! Which means AP can be controlled now..

Number one the 7 min play clock– uhhh Im up in the air about still.. The game takes much much longer.. I just blew someone out and it dragged on and on…

The Injuries– I agree this has no impact on the game… The only thing I want to see is if someone is at high risk and they get hit or tackled.. Season over..

Less Holding– AMAZING

Clock running after going out of bounds is still a factor…

I am all about user catches but I am very glad they toned down the rocket catches.. I started getting really good at it.. Trust me it has made a big change..

backfield pass still seems to be a nightmare and allow anywhere from +8 yards to a TD on every play.

TE is still open 80% of the time on man or zone coverage

For accelerated clock, what about when it's 2:20 left at the half or the end of the game it still shoots it all the way down to 2:00 after picking a play. You should be able to use the 2 minute warning as a time-out, just like in the REAL NFL.

I mean, just fix the little issues and this game would be so much better.

I have the same disgruntlement. It is very very bad. When there is a blitzing defense I rely on the running back slant. Now its an idiotic trot. PLEASE EA PUT IT BACK

Why does the hot route for the running back now have some lazy jog over hte middle and then a hard cut when I would like him to do a slant to the right. The patch changed that much to my dislike. When you see a rush coming you want that running back shooting toward the sideline for the easy 7 or 8 yards or more. Now when I go to that hot route option he takes a jog up the middle and THEN cuts hard after four seconds or so have elapsed and as a quarterback FOUR SECONDS IS DEATH. FIX THE HB HOUT ROUTE EA!!!! PUT IT BACK TO THEE WAY IT WAS!!!

That running back hot route slant right has completely ruined my offensive strat. I stop playing very soon if it isnt changed back. This is rediculous. THE ENTIRE DESIGN OF THE SLANT OF THE RUNNING BACK WAS TO COMBAT A BLITZ D. THIS IS REDICULOUS!!!

My GAMERTAG is ABOMB320. I will officially stop playing starting today 9/24/2009 and will even sell my game if necessary unless this hot route situation is not changed back to the way it was. The running back should be able to shoot right towards the sidleine like before at an angle that he is given space. Why oh why was this changed?! PLEASE RESPOND ANYONE! I want to play again but will not until this is fixed.

agree it's not an offensive problem it's a defensive flaw! A check down or swing pass to the running back should not work every single play! It's rather ridiculous! I want to know who in the hell is testing these games before they hit shelves or a demo is dropped? I figured this ish out in the 1st hr i played the game. How this wasn't delivered to Ian before the demo dropped beats me.

Everyone crying about the RB hotroute are the EXACT REASON they changed it, I’m guessing. I mean, it’s one thing when you’ve got some slow LB on Reggie Bush, but when some scrub FB can outrun your nickelback to the sideline on that play, SOMETHING had to be done.

i believe the RB coverage to the flats is supposedly getting fixed in the 2nd patch right? Because I'm still having the same success. My Running back is still catching the ball 30 times for 250 plus yards per game. Also had two plays where the cpu player did not attempt to drag or keep two feet in bounds when catching the ball near the sideline… if someone knows more please let me know whats up.
