Madden 10 Roster Update #4 Details

After taking a week off the Madden 10 roster updates have returned with the fourth of the year which came out this morning. This update includes a slight upgrade for Darrelle Revis to 93, a 10 point upgrade to 85 for Antwan Odom, a five point decrease for Jake Delhomme, an11 point increase for Mario Manningham while Drew Brees has become a 99. Those were all players that I thought would see adjustments based on their performance early this season so it is encouraging to see that the ratings are being actively adjusted for the players that need it.

The update also includes several transactions and depth chart changes. Chief among them are Brian Urlacher, Jamal Williams, Randy Thomas, and Jermaine Phillips to the IR and the complete removal of Michael Crabtree from the 49ers as he has yet to sign.

The Flacco thing is bogus. He wan't bumped at all last year really until they were 11-5 and going to the playoff's. But if Romo has a good quarter he gets a bump. The Ravens are one of the most dis-respected teams by Madden year in and year out.

I have to disagree there man…. the Ravens are pretty amazing in Madden. They are an 83 overall… That's a pretty decent rating and I can beat any team online if I'm the Ravens. There are a lot of other teams that get shafted even worse. The Saints being one of them. Sure we got a few upgrades but we are far far far from being the team you see on Sunday. The highest scoring team in the NFL right now is only a 75 overall……. tell me who has the shaft now.

Some of the statistics are way off for RB's and WR's. I see a lot of starting RB's averaging less than 2 yards a carry and speed WR's averaging 10 yard a catch. Is anyone else having this problem? Does EA know about it or plan to fix it within the 2nd patch?

The problem with this, is that it happens every year, there is always something wrong with the statistics in every version, it used to be a problem with the rushing yds, where almost 5 guys would achieve every year, and when they fixed that, WR with 800 yards would go to the pro bowl and nobody would get more than 130 tackles, so with EA, when they fix one area, they mess up another, next year every QB will throw for 5000 yards.

Why did only Leon Hall go up? Jonathan Joesph should have gone up also. He's actually the Left CB for the Bengals. If Leon Hall is 83 then Joseph should be 84. Elvis Dumervil should have gone up to about a 78. I think that Revis should have also been upgraded more. 93? 95 would be more acceptable.

DeSean Jackson on that punt return looked like the fastest man alive lol. If he is a 98 then I wonder who gets a 99? A lot of people run fast on a track but under pads they don't have the same ability i.e. Heyward Bey

Jason Avant run good routes but what makes him special is that he catches anything that touches his hands. He has a hard time getting to balls but if it hits his hands he will bring it in.

Here's my take on some of the ratings:

1) Mario Manningham has become the #1 target for Eli so his rating should go up but an 11 point increase is a bit much I think 3-5 is more in his range.

2)Antwan Odom is a good end but not a great end. He got his 5 sacks because the 2nd most important man on the field got injured. Most teams only have 1 legit LT and if they go down the passing game is basically screwed. GB had to move the entire line around to fill the void and had 4 people playing out of position.

3)Drew Brees & Darrelle Revis are very deserving of their upgrades as they have dominated the early part of the season.

4)Hakeem Nicks shouldn't have a drop in ratings as he has barely even played yet.

5)Patrick Crayton I think we all saw this a mile away as EA love them some Cowboys. This guy dropped about 3 ball last Sunday but somehow is entitiled to an upgrade.

6) Dallas Clark should have received a bigger upgrade as he looked like Usain Bolt out there on Monday running by himself

7)Where is the downgrade for Tony Romo? At what point will EA put their feelings side for the Cowboys and adjust that team with a decrease in ratings in bad defeats like they do when they adjust their ratings higher after huge wins?

Good point on Newman he should have received a huge decrease as he is basically letting WR's score at will. The entire secondary of Dallas is among the leagues worse. I'm not just saying this as I go by the film that I am required to watch daily. He has WR's who are not even known for speed running past him.

The whole Dallas defense should get a downgrade as they have a total of 0-sacks, 0-interceptions, & 0-fumbles recoveries in 2 full games against a bad TB team and a NYG team without any true WR's.

Yeah, but you can choose the pants and jerseys individually before each game so really nothing needs to be fixed in that regard…HOWEVER…

I wish they would fix Seattle's classic helmets. First, they look gray, not silver. Secondly, the logo doesn't stretch all the way behind the helmet and the stripe tapers off when it gets behind the helmet…Looks aweful.

I wish EA would add more classic jerseys…Seattle's 1990 jerseys (home and away) with the logo on the sleeve); The Oilers 1990's uniforms (home and away) with light blue pants; Cleveland's orange pants and helmets with white face masks AND Philadelphia's 1990's jerseys….To name a few..

Yeah, but you can choose the pants and jerseys individually before each game so really nothing needs to be fixed in that regard…HOWEVER…

I wish they would fix Seattle's classic helmets. First, they look gray, not silver. Secondly, the logo doesn't stretch all the way behind the helmet and the stripe tapers off when it gets behind the helmet…Looks aweful.

I wish EA would add more classic jerseys…Seattle's 1990 jerseys (home and away) with the logo on the sleeve); The Oilers 1990's uniforms (home and away) with light blue pants; Cleveland's orange pants and helmets with white face masks AND Philadelphia's 1990's jerseys….To name a few..

Also, I heard Chris Berman state that Seattle is wearing "throwback" green jerseys this weekend against Chicago….Anyone have screen shots of these jerseys?

Not bad, but Dallas' raings should have gone down. Why are they rated so highly? They haven't won a playoff game in how many years? There is way too much of a Cowboy fetish in Madden. Particularly for Romo.

Also, Jets got screwed, a lot of guys should have been upgraded on their D.

EA you dropped the ball on Flacco, Avant, Celek, Rivers, 49ers D (both Corners need big upgrades and pass rush should be improved) and a few others. All should have seen a substantial raise.

Also, while it pains me to say it, Asante Samuel needs to be dropped, he was burnt toast against the 'aints.

Most improtantly, lets see a drop in Dallas shall we. They are rated as about the 5th best team in madden. In truth they will be lucky to be 8-8.

Whats up with Elvis Dumerville only going up to a 74 rating and the guy had 4 sacks in his last game and is in second place in the league for sacks. He should at least be a 78 or 80. Since Odom went from a 75 to an 85 holding the 1st place spot for sacks in the league.

Anyone know why we can't load new rosters into our current franchise? The only way to have an updated season is to keep starting new franchises? Can anyone weigh in on this?

It would be realistic/fair. Lets say in your franchise (whether online or offline) you are tearing it up with your QB but in real life he's playing poorly–would you want to see him go down? Or what if your the bears and now Urlacher is hurt so he disappears on your team-would that make sense? It'd be nice for the CPU teams, but wouldn't make sense for users teams. IMO.
