The Book of Eli takes place in post-apocalyptic America as a man played by Denzel Washington travels across the country protecting a book that holds the secrets to the future of humanity. Some of the images from the film that have been released have led to comparisons with the Fallout video game series.

For what appears to have blockbuster potential The Book of Eli is releasing in a usual dead time for big budget studio movies. It is slated to be out on January 15th 2010.

Looks awesome. Kind of surprised it's coming out in January, but without any competition, it could dominate the studios for a few weeks.

Seeing that Paul Blart: Mall Cop was the #1 movie last January, I think this is gonna pay off huge in terms of box office revenue to release it them.
