Hopefully the Animations in 2K have slowed down a bit and that you have more user control. I will not make a judgement until i actually play the 2k demo. I have been the biggest critic of live in the past years but they have definitely made big strides this season. It looks to me from this vid that the cpu defense is much easier to score on then in Live. The pick and roll with Williams and Boozer was way too successful. In Live I'm seeing a lot better help side defense… Ran this same pick and roll last season with Kobe and Gasol(in 2k9) and it worked nearly every single time. But like i said earlier I'll wait till I get my hands on 2k first.

You have to remember this was on Pro mode, so maybe at a higher difficulty it won't be a dunk feast. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as I believe the producers said they've worked on that.

I really try to like this games but some things just doesn´t look right.
The passing is weird.
The defenses very questionable.
It would be nice to see some vids on a higher diff.

the cpu FG percentage is way too high. that rediclous not even the Orlando magic shot 71% in the finals against the lakers they shot a high 60 percent. you call this sim ball? yeah right not when the CPU makes everything under the sun at least in Live the CPU has a decent fg percentage

I don't think I've seen any wide open shots missed. Obviously those should be higher %, but there should still be some misses

Thats pretty much the same issue with 2K9 and 8, and 7. They relay to much on slider tweaks. Every vid i've seen it's ether dunks or 3's no midrange game at all.
How responsive was isomotion. Could you actually pull off the moves you wanted to do any easier than 2K9. The thing i like about Live is I know what i'm going to get when i pull a move off on the sticks.

Too many easy dunks in the game, too many shots made, I think I saw one maybe two low post up moves the whole game, too much overhead passing, passing out of shot animations looks WACK, D.Williams was dribbling backwards in the 3rd quarter wtf? The animations were jerky, Graphics are mediocre. The list could go on but for the most part, this looks like 2K9 with new animations. The only thing i like is the commentary and presentation. 2K crew need to step up next year.

this game looks so bland and washed out, i got so bored with 2k9 and im already bored by this game after watching the gameplay… it's the same damn game as last year. at least live feels fresh, looks fresh, looks brighter and players look like themselves. this is horrid and this is like the 7th gameplay vid i have seen and none of it has me excited.

thats what im talking bout 2k looks like its been leading in basketball games in the bast couple years but this year there was so much hype in this game but it was definitely not up to my expectations. Live surely looks better in terms of graphics.

Honestly, I never thought 2K would focus this much on commentary. It's not as smooth as NBA Live's but there is more emotion to it and more welcomed randomness.

okay here's the real challenge. Pasta needs to do a follow up of both games at 3 months and 6 months from release date, thats the tale of the tape. Thats when we'll really know where these games stand. This is where I think NBA Live will standout out as being the game that holds your attention and stays fresh the longest and is more challenging. This is where dynamic season in my opinion will separate the boys from the men, the sim ballers from the fantasy mode guys.

Im a Life fan (videogame fan first) and I agree with you on the commentary. I havent heard Lives commentary yet but I do know that from these videos that has been the one thing that keeps impressing me about 2K. Very nice presentation and commentary, but something is missing for me gameplay wise, I dont know what though? Something just feels strange…overall game looks good though.

Sim basketball..lol…okay. Does it require a two handed overhead pass when your a foot from who you're passing to? When they put the camera on the Coach…who is he talking to?
LOL…all of the players are stiff and robotic…the game is still not fluid. Yeah it's a basketball game, but It looks like Robots playing basketball..while live looks fluid with off the ball movement etc.

The AI is totally stupid. If your running back on a fast break, nobody has a sense of urgency. In the 3rd qtr at the 15 second mark…check out how dumb the AI is. When Roger Mason gets the ball..why didn't he try to bring it up the court? I guess he though he was trapped? So instead of passing it to Tony Parker who is right next to him. Mind you Tony didn't even try to go and get the ball…Roger Mason attempts to pass the ball standing FLAT FOOT the length of the court . WTF? That's sim though right? Okay.
At the 1:27 mark of the 3rd Qtr. You have McDyess catching the ball in the paint and going thru his legs back and forth thru the lane and then he throws a And 1 one handed pass to the corner for a jumper. LOL. Wow..okay. Sim basketball.
Then overall…players go from standing still to a all out sprint. Yep…that's sim. It's a total joke.

No disrespect to NBA 2k10 but this video was definitely not what I expected. There was a little insight on what new features are in the game such as better defensive A.I. but for the most part the game surely looked like NBA 2k9.5. The players look somewhat the same and so did the gameplay but maybe thats just my opinion. But for the first video of a new game it should definitely be something to catch everbodys attention. The gameplay was okay for what was shown but overall it was just like watching a Spurs game in real life… BORING. But overall i was disappointed in the chosen game (the pasta padre community possibly could have picked warriors) but for what was given it was alright. But i surely hope to see better gameplay and better game choices.

Some of u guys don’t know shit about ball, if u are running a pick and roll, the guy setting the pick will go toward the rim after the pick is set, which leads to an easy dunk. And if a big man is on a fastbreak (PF or C) or even a SF or SG if they are able to dunk the ball, they will. God damn some of u are dumbass

Pick and rolls don't necessarily leads to dunks all the time. Pick and rolls are set up to create the switch or make the defense anticipate the roll by the screen setter or the penetration of the ball handler. It's not about getting to the hoop every time, it's about creating space.

The nerv of the guy who said 2k9 with updated rosters, hey well let's see if this is 2k9.5 then hell Live is 2005.1(just now getting back to being competitive.) Let's see whats In 2k9.5 ummmmmm Presentation huge upgrade, good ass dynamic commenttary, problems that held 2k9 back from being great have been fixed.
It's going to be a blast come Oct.6 when 2k9.5 beats out NBA live 2010, just check all the review sites except this EA love fest of a site here.
One more thing I grew up on Live and I'm not a fanboy of any means but damn some of you dudes are, if your getting Live why the fuck are yall coming to check out 2k10 just to say your getting Live and talk shit about a game yall haven't even played yet smh at yall dudes.

the truth is only what you perceive to be the truth, which means nothing to me. I can only speak for myself and I can't assume you've read everything i've posted on this website. I've been purchasing NBA 2k since it first came out, in fact NBA Live 09 was the first time i've purchased a Live title in the last 3 years. So when you see people commenting on the 2K post it's possible they've been doing what i've done which is purchased both titles in hopes that one of the companies finally get it right. Instead you get all twisted and uptight when someone comments about NBA 2K and go right to your hater card.
Let me correct you on another issue of false information you want to throw out. Go to youtube and you can look at gameplay of NBA Live on ALL-STAR, the first round of vids were on pro but it's common knowledge for some of us that the ALL-STAR footage is available to judge. These vids aren't by Pasta, go to operationsport.com since you want to question Pasta's knowledge.

I don't realize why people don't understand this…Live HAD to make major improvements, or fall to 2K once again when it comes to sales. Live is much, much improved this year, and I am considering buying it, but it pisses me off when i see stuff like "aw this is 2k9.5 blah blah LIVE GOT IMPROVEMENTS". 2K didn't have to make as many radical changes as Live did, so your not going to see any glaring improvements in the game. This isn't a fucking first person shooter where you're like "Oh they added the P90!!! You can play co-cop with friends now! Capture the Flag now yay!!!" It's a basketball simulation.

The underlying issue is that 2K basketball was heavily flawed as well; however, 2K was the lesser of mediocre basketball games. 2K's success depended on Live's short comings. The last 3 iterations of 2K basketball has taken on a conservative approach which can be frustrating for some consumers. Now from a business stand point, it's practical to take the conservative approach until they are forced to do an overhaul of their system, because they do not have the unlimited budget of EA.
I think next year will be their overhaul year, especially because Live will implement Synergy DNA on the defense side of the game

Yo real talk im disappointed…im a 2k fan…i havent copped live since 05 wit mello on the cover. i was
always high ranked in the 2K basketball games.So yall should hear out my opinion as im not biased at
all. Yes 2k has had a solid better game the past few yrs…but i think when Mike Wang the lead gameplay
designer joined EA that was a HUGE gain for NBA LIVE. I watched these videos and i have to say it
looks like the same game as last year with some tweaks i agree that u shouldnt fixed whats not broken
but at the sametime i wanna throq my 60 bucks on a game that feels somewhat new every yr. First off
that turbo bar thingy is real lame makes me feel like im playing or watching NBA JAM theres no turbo
bar on tv when ur watching a NBA game they could of easily just made the player slowdown or get real
noticeably tired…it takes away from the realism somewhat. Next it still looks like its gonna be a
cheese-fest online where ppl throw the ball down court or just dunk all day with kobe or lebron.
Overhead passes are still an issue…i use to think 2K AI was real smart until i played live 10 demo it
makes 2K AI look like 1st grade. Live u have to play real ball…or else ur gonna get a turnover. Live
made it so u have to know the strengths and weakness of the team and individual player ur playing
against…which is NBA. Matchups size speed defense all matter in NBA live. For example i know alot u
guys were fustrated with demo and prolly gave up on it after the first few tries because u couldnt score
or kobe and artest was just stealing the ball from u when u trying to dribble. I did too…but then i
continued playing and said to my self…why the hell am i trying to size up kobe and artest two of the best
defenders in the league? Live makes u think and run plays like the NBA u have to learn to take
advantage of openings and weakness…thats what players and coaches do in the NBA. With rashard
lewis i would iso alot and use the dribble stick and shake him everytime and go for the lane or jumpshot
thats because gasol cant keep up with rashard in speed…i would also notice gasol would stay in the
paint sometimes and give rashard too much space since he has to defend the rim and the player and i
would just pop that shot every chance i had…thats real ball. I think im coppin live this yr but i still wanna
play that 2k demo. I just wish live had that steal where u could time and snatch the ball on a fastbreak
or when some1 is driving to the rim imma miss that lol.

That Dynamic DNA is a BEAST i was impressed with it last yr but still hated live…but all they needeed was
the gameplay to match and they finally did.I remember i played this match on 2k9 1 day and i played this
dude he was like ranked 80 and he pick the cavs…all he would do is full court press and double team
and then on offense lebron would be cherry picking at the other side of the court all day…then when
sczerbiak came in the game he would do that silly shot i think its when u press the dunk button from to
far and would do that spin around hook shot from the 3pt line and make it all the time…the cheesing kills
me. very few games on 2k where u actually get to play sim. From what i see those issue still appear to
be possible…and is it me or 2Ks commentary is real annoying Clark Kellogg voice kills me…i like how they describe a player in depth
tho sometimes when he scores but i like lives commentary better after i played the demo.

lol this my last comment..I also like how live has a lot of authentic shoes tats jerseys and gonna celebrate the NBA holidays with jerseys and etc. Also how u have the option to select the person u want to do the pick and decide if u wanna make him pick and roll or just stay…if anything the DNA pick the best person for the pick. I appreciate the little things more as they add much realism to the game but i still havent FULLY made my decision yet when i play that 2k10 demo then i will know.
