Week Three Ratings Change Suggestions

Yesterday the man in charge of the Madden 10 player ratings Donny Moore tweeted that this year the philosophy is results on the field will be what determines ratings changes with no excuses. It doesn’t matter who the player is, if they aren’t producing or if they are outdoing expectations they’ll see their ratings move. With this in mind here are some potential changes to look for this week.

Terrell Owens saw his play drop off last year and he has not produced for the Bills with only five catches through three games. His 91 rating is no longer justified. On the other end of the spectrum is Joe Flacco who was largely ignored last year in the ratings changes and so far has been stuck at an 81 this year despite other QBs seeing movement. He has a 101.4 QB rating with 6 TDs to 2 INTs and 839 yards for the undefeated Ravens. There are some terrible QBs in the league (JaMarcus Russell, Brady Quinn) and a 9 and 10 point difference between those two and Flacco isn’t reflective of a big enough spread. The Titans have been good against the run and pressured the QB but their defensive backs have been the weakness this season and could see some drops.

Some other moves to expect will be Chad Pennington to the IR and the benching of Byron Leftwich in favor of Josh Johnson in Tampa. As usual leave your thoughts in the comments on what players are outperforming or disappointing compared to their current ratings.

I agree that Elvis Dumerville's rating is way too low. Broncos run blocking needs a boost and so does Knowshon Moreno in the speed and trucking category. I think the Bears top 3 wide receivers all deserve a boost. Hester has not had many drops at all in fact he has made some pretty nice catches in traffic and his route running is much better. Johnny Knox speed is too low. He ran a 4.3 at the combine which was faster than percy harvin and he looks that fast on the field. He should at least be a 97-98 speed with 99 acceleration. Just watch the way he made Aaron Curry whiff while juking backwards. Danieal Manning at FS also needs a nice boost as he has played very well and tackles very well.

VINCENT JACKSON from the CHARGERS needs a big time boots he is been averaging 107.8 yards per a game in the past 3 games. He also had crazy season last year where he caught 50 something catches for 1000 yards. The guy is good give him some credits

I know Chad Henne hasn't done anything in the NFL yet, but he's only rated a 67, now I'm not sayin he should be in the 90's, but he could use a boost, I understand he hasn't done anything yet, and after a few games he'll probably get a boost , but 67's horrible, I'll be happy in the 70's

The Dolphins havent looked too good on offense or defense as of yet, but if they're good on one aspect it's a strong run defense, this also happens to be their weakness in Madden, which makes absolutely no sense, their front 7 is way better than their secondary, yet on Madden it's the other way around, EA, you mind looking into this?

How about boost the whole Broncos team they're rated 70 and are 3-0 and everyone says they played bad teams but Cincy is 2-1 they got kept to 1 td. The Chargers who are better rated barely beat the Raiders. Denver kept them to 1 fg. So either the other teams need to get lower ratings or the Broncs need to go up.

You need to watch the games to make the adjustments, not stats. It is not Owens' fault his production is down. It's Trent Edwards….he is afraid to throw to his WR's. If anyone should be lowered, it is Edwards, not Owens and Evans.

maybe some Ray Rice and Willis Mcgahee love? Also maybe the 49ers O-line. 1 sack allowed against the Vikings. Also Shawntae Spencer. 71 is still kind of low for a starting CB who has been solid. Make JaMarcus like a 68 or something, he just sucks. Maybe the Bengals CBs.

Where do I start? While I'm not the biggest Shaun Hill fan, his rating should go up to at least 81 or 82. All he has done is put the team in a position to win. Manny Lawson has become a run stuffer and is passrush skills have gotten a lot better. TKO had a nice ratings boost so thats good to see. My biggest gripe are the ratings for the secondary and really the defense all around actually. SF's defense held it's two opponents under 100 rushing with an average of 53.7 yrds and it held AP to 85 yards. That direct correlation to Dline play. Abrayo Franklin has surprisingly done a really good job of holding the POA and getting penetration. He should at least be a 75 and not a damn 67. Ray Mcdonald has been playing lights out. 2 sacks as a 3-4 defensive end and also a blocked punt. Not to mention he has been getting tons of pressure on the QB. Back to the secondary. Shawntae Spencer has been playing lights out, shutting down some of the most prolific WR's in the league. Boldin, Fitz and Housh. Also Dre Bly has been a ball hawk. I believe both should be around a 78 to 80. Dashon Goldson has shown great range with multiple pass break ups. The Flip side of that is Mark Roman who should be dropped to a 30!! All in all the 49ers defense should be upgraded.

the giants need an overall boost in the team rating! they get shafted every year. how is the number one team in the NFC rated in the 80's?? the giants should be a 93-94 rated team. Eli Manning is also underrated! has EA watched the giants for the past 2 weeks?? we murdered the bucs this sunday and beat the cowboys in their home stadium last week. and we also beat the redskins and killed them in all the passing yards statistics. We are 3-0 right now and looks like we aren't turning back anytime soon. this team is going to be in the top 3 in the NFC for years to come as long as Eli is running the show. EA needs to higher the giants rating ASAP!!
