Release Day Problems for NBA 2K10

The official forums for NBA 2K10 are currently in an uproar over issues being seen with NBA 2K10. Primarily the focus is on the framerate dropping in games and in My Player mode, along with poor online play performance or the inability to play online at all.

The framerate and online issues should not come as a surprise to 2K or consumers. Framerate slowdown has been pointed out in previews, reviews, my impressions, and user impressions across the web. Even 2K9 had trouble with keeping a consistent and smooth framerate especially in certain camera angles. Online play performance has been troubling with many 2K Sports titles the last two years. NBA 2K9 was sometimes playable oftentimes terrible, as the heavily promoted Team Up mode never even worked properly.

It is discouraging that problems in these two critical areas persist. Still it is only the first day and there is a chance that things will be cleaned up online wise and through a future patch. Past issues in these areas have not been completely fixed though which is certainly reason for concern.

There really isn't any debating that and little reason to believe in the coming days that would change for this year. I don't tell anyone they should be a certain game, just important to point out the online experiences of both games (which reviewers are ignoring for whatever reason). I'll have full writeups in the near future (assuming I can get games in on 2K10 online)

Yet, you dont knock Madden, when every single phase of that game is broken. offense, broken. Offensive line broken. WR's running routes broken. Defensive backs knowing the WR"s routes and running them before the WR, Broken. Pursuit angles broken. Jostling, Broken. So why have i never seen any of this stuff posted on your website good sir? Why, because NBA2K is still better? Live had no real choice but to get better. It pretty much had to get better, and good for them. They should take pride in their work. I just wish the EA football Dev's gave a shit about their work, cause they got no talent.

everyone know graphics are much better in 2k but im not feeling the in game lag right now and the fact i cant play online but when i look at the leader board some dude has 89 wins already and 8 loses like wtf is that. Im sure a patch will fix all this but for now not too pleased

I've seen the frame rate problem in the post. Seen the inbound problem. Don't care about online play. All in all it's what I expect from a sports title these days. Madden 10 had its problems, still does, and needed a patch. Live 10 has its problems which I'm sure will get a patch. 2K patched last years frame rate problems and here's hoping they do it again this year. If you want a game that you can play online go buy NBA Live 10. The game is still playable and to me very enjoyable. I laugh at these people who think that a sports game is going to be perfect. Thanks Pasta for the update.
