Week Six Ratings Change Suggestions

Now that six weeks are in the books the undefeated teams have established themselves as legitimate contenders and may be deserving of some more attention in the ratings. The Saints, Colts, Broncos, and Saints have all proven they are for real. On the other end of the spectrum there are teams like the Titans, Redskins, Bucs, and Rams who should take a hit in their ratings based on their performance this season.

Looking at specific players maybe it was premature to slide Tom Brady down to a 96. He shredded the Titans and broke a record in the process throwing for five TDs in a single quarter. Brett Favre has undeniably been great this season and probably will move up from the 85 he currently has. Elvis Dumervil added another two sacks and a forced fumble and should go higher than the 83 he has now. Mark Sanchez may just be an 81 but after the last three weeks he should drop some. In the three straight losses he has thrown just one TD while being picked off eight times. The Titans threw for negative yardage against the Patriots so Kerry Collins and Vince Young are probably still overrated at 74 and 71 respectively.

This update should also see some injury movement with Antwan Odom and Kris Jenkins out for the season and Lofa Tatupu out for at least an extended period of time. As always leave your thoughts in the comments on what players are deserving of either a boost or a drop in the ratings in the upcoming roster update.

Favre needs some ratings boost, T.O needs to drop in ratings more, Sanchez definitely needs to be in the 75 range, Flacco and Rice should stay the same( i mean come'on without that 4th quarter defensive breakdown by the vikes then statistically both played awful that game)Sidney Rice needs some boost on his catching , big ben i think is way way way overrated in the game, but i don't expect his ratings to go down since he passed 400 yards against the "vaunted" browns defense. We will probably see some Oakland love this week too, those stat boost for the jets last week should be taken back. And how bout some love for my boy Matt Shaub. Dude is leading the league right now in TD.

I mean lets face it the steelers running game has bee sad for several years now. I wouldnt give him a boost though. I think he is pretty accurate right where he is. They dont throw deep all that much really.

None of his passes have been completions and one has gone for a pick. If you don't think throwing a pick 20% of the time you attempt a pass is evidence of failure at the QB position then you're an even bigger moron than you make yourself out to be – but then I'm sure that's just the "statboy" talking, there must be some way Vince deserves a good rating even though he's done less than nothing right? Kyle Orton needs significant accuracy and awareness boosts. 124/194, 1465 yards, 9 TDs, 1 Int (which was on hail mary to end first half, picked by Randy Moss). For his career in the red zone, he has thrown 30 TDs and 2 Ints. He should at least be an 85 OVR. In the fourth quarter this season, Orton leads NFL QBs with 142.1 passer rating, 25.3 points above #2 Joe Flacco. He probably deserves a tad more credit for throw power as well, as he is #11 in yards per pass attempt, ahead of guys like Ryan, Flacco, McNabb, Warner, Brady, Cutler, and Palmer.

Dumervil naturally deserves a boost, but the entire Broncos defense needs at least some awareness, play recognition, and stamina boosts. Team statistics for the second half of games this season: Opponents have scored only 10 points on the Denver D all season, Denver D has not given up a 3rd down conversion in the second half for FOUR WEEKS (against Russell, Tony Romo, Tom Brady, and Philip Rivers).

Denver Offense deserves stamina boost. In the second half of games, they have outscored opponents 76-10.

Tony Scheffler probably deserves slight boosts in receiving attributes, specifically route-running and catching.

Agreed. I think the game last night proved that Dumervil needs a boost again. He is dominant as a pass rusher. Also, the team looked so much better with Dawkins in. He needs to be boosted. I also think both O and D lines need to be boosted, with the exception of Clady and Vonnie Holliday.

i gotta say the lost to Oakland is embarrassing.. but some needs to go down while others need some deserving boost.. lemme break it down..

OFFENSiVELY
RB B.Westbrook shud get his speed up to atleast 94 also he ran 6 att for 5Oyrds(8 yrds per carry) and caught the ball 9x for 91 yrds!
WR D.Jackson 5 catches 91yrds! and also he was maned up by N.Asomugha(1 of the best CB)
TE B.Celek 4 ctches for 75 yards althought lost to Oakland
LT K.Dunlap shud be lowered as well as RT W.Justice!

RE T.Cole 1 sack for every game (maybe a point or two is deserving)

CB A.Samuel 5 int, 2nd in the NFL behind D.Sharper

Royal actually isn't terribly fast. 93 is above average and about right.
Clady is a 98 for sure and the rest of the line should go up too.
I like Marshall a lot, but his rating is fine where it is.
The defense does need to be boosted a lot. I agree there completely.

Doesn't DEDE DORSEY play in the UFL now? He is still a free agent in Madden. The Bucs QB situation needs to be fixed, Josh Johnson isn't the starter. Drew Brees saw a decline after a bad game. He should be an 99 rating again. Raiders D-line needs a boost. Giants D-line needs see some type of decrease, the Vikings O-line, except for a couple plays, dominated the whole game.
