2K Calls Out EA on NBA Live 10 Patch

The mods there are just volunteers but in a way they still represent the company. I don't care what that guy thinks about me though lol

I'm amazed that Ronnie, who is so often the public face of 2K to the community is allowed to have that role. Again and again the man loses his cool and goes off on these childish insecure type rants. 2K really needs to re-think their community strategy and adopt the "We're #2, so we try harder" type philosophy instead of the churlish resentful attitude that seems to drive their public stances

It seems that since online gaming has picked up and patches were made available, games are not being completed and they just rush a game out knowing they can fix it with a patch in order to meet their Release Date. Gone are the days of a game being delayed so they could get it right. Games are getting sloppy as how could you honestly release a game and saying it is great when there are so many obvious flaws for both EA and especially 2K compared to last year? Do they not play and test the game prior to release? No excuses for either party! The problem is competition and having to release on the same day, but the end products for both were very poor at best!

Pasta, is it not ridiculous on your part that you are making this a story? Who the fuck cares about this shit? I find it hilarious that you do not have a story about the failed Live 10 patch yet, but take every chance to bash NBA 2K 10 and its need for a patch. Live 10 is now far more broken than 2K ever has been, yet you fail to mention any of this. PLEASE DO A STORY ABOUT HOW FUCKING BROKEN LIVE 10 IS NOW!!!

Instead of calling out Live for getting their patch out on time, how about getting the 2k10 patch out and making that game even better? There you go Ronnie now nobody has to argue anymore. This dude is just wasting time calling out a company who has their gameplay patch out already and dont have boards yelling at them for problems that should have been adressed while the game was being tested (coach settings not saving, framerate issues, games freezing or going black in the third quarter, music completely shutting off, my player freezing, cloning players) 2k is falling off big time, it started with MLB 2k7 where you couldnt advance past the 3rd season in the franchise mode and now their games problems have lasted up until now with mlb 2k9 rendered unplayable, NBA 2k10 seeming unplayable from most fans. All i say is stop the BS and get the patch out for 2k10

Look I said it in another post there are more NBA Live 10 fans happy they finally got a quality product, but its still not good enough a good enough product to make the hardcore 2k fans switch the sales numbers show that.

We all get that Live has sent their patch out, 2k has not. 2k online play is broke but the fact remains if you understand basketball and the physics of the game and how 2k has incorporated it into the game vs how Live represent the game 2k is still the best bet. Live is better I will admit but not to the point where its going to sway people to change stop all the belittling and name calling and really take a look at what most in the basketball community is saying both game were broke at release day but no one I mean no has complained about the overall experience of how 2k plays vs Live or vice versa.

EA has put out 4 broke games that I have played in 2009 Madden 10 ,college football 10, and Live 10 and that god awful Godfather. One thing about EA it puts out more marketing propaganda then any gaming company on the face of the earth because hype sells. Being in marketing myself its human nature for you to really over look a products flaws because that brand is branded in your mind as a quality product.

We can go on and on how well Live is vs how bad 2k is, but overall 2k is still a better product minus the current flaws when it comes to visuals and game play, period. 2k just doesn't lose what it has developed over the years and Live becomes the clear cut winner in a matter of one gaming cycle.

The product shows that when EA has competition, i.e. basketball its major flaws are evident vs not having anything to compare it to like, i.e. football so it looks like a great game but that's all we have to compare it to so EA knows we are forced to take what they are selling and live with it . EA is about putting tons of money into their marketing and out spending other companies with quality products but not enough finical backing to compete.

These things has cause 2010 series of EA sports games to suffer in game play and they try to hide it with hype (different feature that wasn't present in the previous years version) and we fell far it. Support your product this makes for good debate but truly look at what your supporting and really evaluate whats really going on.

As far as Ronnie goes he was unprofessional in his approach but, his thoughts were correct in that don't be fooled into thinking that this all happened in a 6-8 week time frame they knew the issues with the game as well as 2k did. Again, the EA hype machine is at work playing on "we were listening to the community" that BS and they know it.

At the end EA and 2k have issues but EA has trumped 2k in putting out broke products this year. I am a 2k fan when it comes to basketball an EA fan when it comes to football and this year both companies have left a terrible taste in my mouth to the point the 2010 series of games may force me to not purchase any in the future and only play back date products that work until they really listen to the sports gaming community and fix their problems.

Its so bad this year that I really think that the Sports games need to be on a 2 year cycle to get it truly right and just send out add-ons in between year to subsidize the lack of sales of the down year.

LOL at Lives patch not being about community input. Several of the things in the patch were specifically asked for either after the demo or after the game had been out a few days.

they sell the games they talk the shit. simple as that, ea would throw a shot if they could but all they can say is that EA has been 2nd rate for the past 4 years when it comes to live
