Week Seven Ratings Change Suggestions

Having no roster update for Madden 10 last week most of those same suggestions apply. Some teams have shown they deserve more in how they are represented in the game such as the undefeated Broncos, Saints, and Colts. Other teams like the Rams, Bucs, Redskins, Raiders, and Titans probably will never be rated as low as they should be.

For individual players it will be taking into account two weeks where many have displayed they are deserving of a boost. In addition to the week six thoughts those players include Sidney Rice who has become a big-time target for Brett Favre but is only rated a 77. Miles Austin had another outstanding game and has become the #1 receiver for the Cowboys. He should go up to the low 80s from where he is now as a 76. Matt Schaub leads the league in passing yards and TDs but is only rated an 84. Cedric Benson should see another leap as he leads the league in rushing and will move from his 86.

On the way down there are a handful of QBs to choose from. JaMarcus Russell is too high as a 68. He was benched this weekend, has a 2-8 TD/INT ratio is only completing a dreadful 46% of his passes. Jake Delhomme has been picked off 13 times already and it appears he will be getting benched as well. The 76 is too high when there are competent QBs rated in the high 70s and low 80s. Shaun Hill has been a decent game manager but now that he has been replaced he should see a drop as well. One more player to consider is Roy Williams who has clearly lost his stance as #1 receiver in Dallas and has not performed up to the level of an 84. He has only 12 catches and 1 TD on the year.

This update will move Alex Smith into the starting role with the 49ers. While it would be premature to judge him based on a single half of football against a team that didn’t gameplan for him he should see a slight move up. He is currently a 70 and could move to 74 with Shaun Hill maybe sliding down to a 73.

Injury wise look for players such as Kris Jenkins, Leon Washington, Will Allen, and Antwan Odom to hit the IR. The trade of Will Witherspoon to the Eagles will also be reflected.

I wanna point out something that makes no sense to me. In Madden 09 49ers players Vernon Davis and Jason Hill had spd ratings of 92 & 94 respectively. They are now 88 & 87 respectively. I know the gameplay was slowed down which is why the spd ratings were supposedly toned down. However Devin Hester, Chris Johnson, Fabian Washington, Deangelo Hall, etc etc etc didn't have their spd ratings toned down. In essence they were made even faster because other players were hindered I just dunno what the whole idea with these ratings are!!!! I know i'm gonna get called a homer blah blah blah but its a valid point hell LT didn't lose spd from 09 to 10 & he's stayed hurt & gettin older idk a change in the ratings system has to be made!!!!

Ricky Williams is all messed up in the game, he doesn;t look at all like him, way too skinny, take a look at him this year, he's probably just about as jacked as he ever was, he's too slow in madden, even though in real life he's way faster than Ronnie Brown, Ricky needs a huge increase, and maybe a little more size EA, it would really help his power running game IMO

Kyle Orton deserves a bump and should be around an 85ish. He's been quaterbacking an undefeated team and have a great win/loss percentange as a starting QB in his career.

Richard Mendenhall deserves a boost as he is now the Steelers' starting RB. I'd bump down Willie Parker as he is just a shadow of his old self anymore.

Ricky Williams deserves around a 90 rating as he looks like he never left the game before. He's as good as he ever was in his career right now.

Vernon Davis – Finally showing that athletic ability as we all thought he had went drafted out of Maryland, deserves a good increase.

Brian Dawkins/Elvis Dummervil – Both deserve around a 90 rating as they have been the two keys for their D, other than Champ Bailey.

Sidney Rice – I attended the game this weekend and this guy is a flat stud, always has been just never had a good QB to throw to him. Should be around an 84-85.

Kenyan Fox – Deserved a little boost, as he is a very solid special teamer for the Steelers and can step in when needed and ILB for them.

Ahman Green – Add him back to the Packers.

I wouldn't be too baffled to see a Will Witherspoon boost. I know it was just the redskins, but he played that game like a man completely and utterly REJUVENATED. You can tell each tackle, that returned TD pick, each hit on the QB was a big thank you to the Eagles for getting him out of St. Louis. He could've chased down Santana Moss that night.

It's very clear Bernard Berrian is just keeping that spot warm for Harvin right now, and Sid the Kid was my big pick to break out this year. There's something I've always liked about him, and with a good QB he's just crashed out. He catches all-hands, kinda like Fitzgerald, only he seems to have a better second gear. So what we're looking at here is a slightly faster Fitz. Woah.

We need some Bengal love, too. Chad Ochocinco is not old, has not slowed, and is not a bum. He was a victim of Fitzpatrickism last year, and with Palmer back, he's an all-star again. Cedric Benson is a man possessed. And I wouldn't mind seeing a slight overall increase for Dhani Jones, Ray Mauluga and Keith Rivers. They're not getting much credit this season and not making any highlight reels to get themselves boosted, but if you keep an eye on them during the games, they make plays. Way more plays than their low ratings suggest.

Wtf padre, Shaun Hill should go down? What stat are we dropping, the one that makes his offensive linemen forget to block? What part of his performance are you criticizing? He got no protection at all. Smith came in and got some protection – lo and behold, he does alright. If you're arguing that Hill did something in the Houston game to deserve the benching you're just further proving that you have no idea what you're talking about, but what should we expect from the same guy who wrote,

"While it would be premature to judge him based on a single half of football against a team that didn’t gameplan for him he should see a slight move up."

hey dude what he did to get benched was not give the niners any chance to come back with his inability to put up points which has plauged him his whole career, which is why he'll never be a true starter. He does need better protection, but other than the elite QBs, that can be said for just about every so so QB.

Wtf padre, Shaun Hill should go down? What stat are we dropping, the one that makes his offensive linemen forget to block? What part of his performance are you criticizing? He got no protection at all. Smith came in and got some protection – lo and behold, he does alright. Brandon Meriweather should go up to 85. Aaron Rodgers should have been 91 since Preseason. Sidney Rice up to 79 and Berrian down to 79. the Bengals defense needs updates across the board and same for the Texans. Miles Austin to 81 and Roy E. Williams down to 81. Matt Shaub to 86. Carson Palmer to 92. Fix the Depth Charts also. Derrick Johnson does not start for the Chiefs. Heyward-Bey and Louis Murphy as the 2 starting Wr's for the Raiders and Ricky Brown is their LOLB.

SHAUN HILL HAD 2.8 Seconds before the pressure got to him… thats errible from an O-line standpoint…

ALEX SMITH HAD LESS TIME… 2,75 SECONDS…. so ur wrong about the protection there buddy… the only reason alex did better than hill is for his quick decision making….

shaun hill was/is too undecisive on his throws…

where alex smith lets the ball loose once his back foot plants… look it up dude…

basically i agree on alex going up because he gets the starting job… if he gets the job means hes better than hill means he should go up… 74 smith 73 hill is good.

think the SAINTs running back Mike Bell needs a boost in the spd department…

Colston is always open… need a boost in spd and rte runninng

Darren Sharpers spd needs to be increased

The Saints linebackers need to see an increase also…

The offensive line needs an increase

the defense needs to be increased period… think their in the top 3 if not no. 1 or 2 in the league.
