NBA 2K10 Patch (360) Out Tomorrow

by pastapadre

The patch for NBA 2K10 is scheduled to be released at about 2am PT for the 360 according to 2K Sports. As to the PS3 there is nothing new to share there so it seems likely that will happen sometime next week. The patch is supposed to alleviate framerate problems among other fixes that can be found here.

The ironic thing about this is the 2K10 patch will arrive just 10 days after the NBA Live 10 patch, which had drawn criticism from 2K for how quickly it had been completed. Both companies obviously were working on aspects of the patch before release and both clearly included input from the community.

Pasta taking a quick jab at 2K with his nut swab of EA. You are pathetic bro. Just call this website PastaPadreblowsEA.com

You are bias and pathetic. Don't sell a website as an unbias sports game site when you receive free games from EA and blow them all the time.

Guru i agree. But we all no thats nothing new. I have both games and actually like but but my goodness live i thought one of the main things you guys would have added on top of other things you fixed, would be fatigue. Do you not realize how much that makes it a arcade game.

What he said was true. Both were working on the patch before the release. 2k is the ones who said what they did about Live. Don't get mad at him. He's just basically saying, 2k is making an excuse for being late on the patch.

So just because he pointed out irony makes him an EA fanboy?

And also if he is pathetic then why are you wasting time commenting on his site?

LOL its getting tiring reading the handful of people who just post here to take shots. If anything Pasta was giving 2K credit for a relatively quick turnaround on the patch, but at the same time how they felt the need to speak out against Live's quick turnaround.

I'm still skeptical of how they're going to solve the post-entry passing…

Either the level of sensitivity by some is remarkable or those people just want to read into things a certain way so they can complain. That's all it really is.

this is why P. Tagliabu gave EA the exclusive license to NFL, to unite the community…now you see all the bickering competition has created. Look for David Stern to sell the rights to 2k so we can unite the community.

He's taking a shot at them because of what they said… if anything those guys over at 2k should have said that they were also working on a patch before the game, but live was working on it before they were lol.

Not taking a shot, just pointing out that 10 days later is not much time at all. Basically they were completed within a week of each other.

True, it takes a bit more time to create and test patches so they have to have been working on this for a while, Live just beat them to it first to put it out.

you can change the quarter length before you start your career if you download a player from the draft combine….otherwise it won't work

Monopolies don't benefit the consumer. That's the whole point of competition. The NFL didn't give a license to EA to "unite" the community. I won't even get into the business explanation of why.

"All this bickering does nothing for the community we need to unite…"

Sports gaming communities have become really immature in my opinion with only a few people showing reasonability due to "fanboi warz" and also people's nostalgia (saying certain games were perfect even though they had problems… problems that would be criticized a lot about by these "youtube" guys and others if recent games had them). I really don't spend that much time on sports game forums anymore because of it and now only go to them just for info.

Anyways, really can't wait for the patch. The framerate issues are very annoying and effect gameplay.

Pasta I totally agree with you. Both EA and 2K knew their basketball games were not finished by the release date so both companies were working on their respective patches even before the product hit the store shelves. Unfortunately this is the way sports games are going to be handled from here on out so I guess we all have to get use to it. I'm happy that the Patch will be out tomorrow because now I can start playing 2K10. Thanks for the update Pasta.

we all know pasta prefers playing EA Sports games more than NBA 2k games, but there's no problem with that. I can see why he likes live (i play it and i think it's a pretty good game) i just prefer nba 2k. The irony part of his article was not taking a jab at nba 2k, you should blame the 2k game designer who came at nba live, not pasta. glad to see that nba 2k's patch is finally coming out though, can't wait bro!

You know something @Bgamer90…I never played a perfect game but maybe that's because they will never be able to satisfy everyone's tastes. I think both basketball titles have their own pluses and minuses and it's up to the consumer to find the right product for him/herself. Unless you have a diverse panel that reviews games you will always have basis heck even with a diverse panel you can have some basis after time. I always see one or 2 guys reviewing a game and giving what they should have put in what they need to take out but in reality all they are giving is their own version of an ultimate title in their own mind. I will say though that the one thing we can all agree on is having a smooth title. The gameplay has to be smooth otherwise people will feel cheated with jumpy graphics and uncontrollable motions. That's just my 2 cents (as if anybody will read this lol)

Both patches include things people had been asking for. One specifically for Live is the manual backdown mechanic. For 2K the option of lengthening the My Player quarters.

Is seems that your logic is a bit circular Pasta "it is because it is". Unless we are in the planning room we can not know for sure whether features or fixes were actually included based on community input. Unless on course you were in the development room when this was all taking place.

Understood but its common sense here. With those two examples they were not included in the game because the developers felt they didn't need to have them. When people spoke up requesting them they responded.

to be honest 2k10 is a really good game that needs few improvements …every year they raise the bar …but i think demand is messing up the quality in games …customers are rushing the developers who are also being pressured by their company because the competition is putting their game out first…..we really should be getting more upgrades than patches for game. but i understand that its a business and 2k cant afford to be behind the EA giant…..

but as its shows, 2K slayed the giant even with the problems…and will do so again after the patch…

Okay I’ve been vocally critical of Pasta in the past about bias towards Live but I gotta agree with him on this one. Hey I’m glad the patch is out so soon, but he does have a valid point. Chances maybe being 2K got their arses into gear after everyone starting raving about Live 10 and worked day and night on it. I’m not saying Live 10 is better, to be honest I hate Live and love 2K but I won’t be biased though.
