Week Nine Ratings Change Suggestions

Despite EA taking three weeks off from Madden 10 roster updates I wanted to keep this going since it makes it easier to track performances as the weeks go on. Now halfway through the season there are only two undefeated teams though the Colts appear vulnerable due to defensive injuries. On the other end of the spectrum is the Giants who have now lost four straight games and should see that reflected in the ratings when the time comes.

Cedric Benson has now rushed for over 100 yards against the Ravens in both games this year. He is the only RB to rush for 100+ on Baltimore in the last 43 games. He has to be considered one of the best RBs in the league now and deserves a rating in the 90s. Matt Forte is rated an 88, just one point less than Benson, and he has only gone over 100 yards once this year. Clinton Portis is rated a 92 and has only crossed the century mark once as well. Chris Johnson has been unbelievable with 491 yards in just his last three games. He now has the rushing lead ahead of Benson. He should be moving up from his 90 rating.

David Hawthorne has played great in place of Lofa Tatupu and he legitimately could be the best player on the Seahawks defense. In the three games Hawthorne has two sacks, recorded 33 tackles, and has picked off three passes but is only rated a 71. Vince Young hasn’t been great statistically but he has done well enough to help the Titans win their first two games of the season. He’s sure to receive at least a small bump from his 71. Meanwhile Matt Leinart can’t even be trusted in mop-up-duty time and is a 73.

Injury wise from this weekend the next update will include Chris Henry, Thomas Davis, Marlin Jackson, and Bob Sanders hitting the IR. Chris Chambers was released and is now with the Chiefs and Edgerrin James has been released. Larry Johnson has been sent off as well and may be with a new team by the time the next update arrives.

-GMcRath should see a little increase, he started against SF and filled in quite well.

-JFord should be moved to RE while WHayes (should see bit of a increase, he started past 2 games and played well with 1.5 sacks against SF) should be moved to starting LE
-DBall should see a very small increase (been active and played quite well) while JKearse should see a drop along with NHarper (stunk even when healthy) and KCollins(enough said)
-KVickerson should see a bit of an increase, he played very well and is getting consistent penetration but no sacks
-Add APearman, signed to take over KR and PR duties, release CWilliams
-VY should see a lil accuracy boost while CJ should be mentioned among top 2-3 backs in the game
-LHarris should have a slight increase, started at RT and CJ ran for 135 yds against a good SF front 7

EA needs to do something to where u can't play with injured players on the game. That would make it more realistic.. If its in the game… Also they need to bring back fair play settings. 4th and 1 on your own 30- No NFL team goes for that one… just my thoughts

And its very weird that i can still stop the run online with out really even trying. If you are going to make player ratings changes they shouldnt just be on the positive side. Seems like one good game will grant a player a decent boost but performing badly needs to happen several weeks in a row. Now I know it sounds weird that i want my team to take a hit on defense but i treat Madden like a football sim and it really doesnt work when my line lives in the other teams backfield. When in actuallity the last time i remember a HUGE play in the backfield was Ray Ray Lewis blowing up sproles in week 2. Also i think Chris Johnson should be a 100 on speed. fastest time at combine history to this day and Separates from pursuing defensive backs like nothing ive ever seen before.

Packers: Ahman Green up just slightly, looked good on a couple plays (shotgun draw.) Grant dropped another screen pass, I think that's the 3rd in 4 weeks. DROP HIS CTH AND BLOCKING ALREADY. The idea that Donny thinks this guy can catch or block is beyond laughable.

Beyond that, pretty much the entire team needs to take some kind of hit. Rodgers is still holding the ball wayyyyyyy too long and he's getting even worse about forcing the ball downfield into coverage. (Witness the ball he tried to force to a triple-covered Jennings, which led to a tipped INT.) At the same time he showed off some nifty moves as a runner. Lower his passing and raise his running ability (which has been a problem thru his entire Madden existence. He's slower, less elusive and can't juke as well as Flynn? Is this satire?)

Beyond that, basically the entire team played poorly. Kampman in coverage is excruciating and he seems to be a lot worse at rushing the passer as well. Bigby continued to demonstrate that he is a liability in coverage. Special teams were atrocious.

Coverage of the TE was horrible- Kellen Winslow makes big plays in a game where Chillar is out with a broken hand, which I'm sure will lead to a boost for Winslow because Donny doesn't know a thing about football. Hint: Chillar is an exceptional coverage linebacker, not just an acceptable backup.

Oh and it's time for Chris Johnson to be rated at or above AP's level. More yards, less carries, almost 2 more YPC. AP is not the best back in football atm and I'm hoping SportsCenter will tell Donny to adjust the ratings accordingly.

Donny that is, not Orton. I do agree that Orton has demonstrated he is a solid QB but it has nothing to do with stat projections. The one stat that's most key to Orton's role in McDaniel's offense (3 ints in 8 games, and 1 in 6 at the time the video was made) didn't even get mentioned.

Note to Donny: Orton is important because he protects the ball and makes good decisions, not because he's going to throw for such and such yards. The "on pace for omgomgomg" guy was Cutler. Remember what happened to him?

Vince Young's stats are not gaudy but he has been acurate and made some great throws so they should add so points to his passing ratings for sure.
William Hayes of the Titans should also get a ratings hike,he has played very well since entering the starting lineup.

Oh how i love these ratings suggestion post and the response they get. I bet pasta sets back and laughs at all these redundant comments we all make. out of 100 comments 90 of them are homers that want to see thier whole team boosted, mostly cowboys fans from what i see. and 10 guys that have it right and want to see a spread of guys boosted.

the reason your team isnt getting boosted is becasue come december they are going to have to downgrade everybody right back down because of the cowboys tradition in december with romo at QB i wouldnt want to make more work for myself either.

I bet pasta sets back and laughs at all these redundant comments we all make. out of 100 comments 90 of them are homers that want to see thier whole team boosted, mostly cowboys fans from what i see. and 10 guys that have it right and want to see a spread of guys boosted.

the reason your team isnt getting boosted is becasue come december they are going to have to downgrade everybody right back down because of the cowboys tradition in december with romo at QB i wouldnt want to make more work for myself either.
