Fox Cancels Dollhouse

Despite mediocre ratings while airing on Friday nights Dollhouse has enjoyed a supportive fan base and strong DVR viewership. It was able to survive its first season and made for somewhat of a surprise when it was picked up for a second season. However recent signs started appearing that it was in danger with the most glaring one when Fox pulled the show for November sweeps.

Earlier today Fox announced that Dollhouse has been canceled. It will however finish its full season 13 episode order and should be able to close off storylines properly. The cult following the show had is sure to be disappointed as it was never set up to succeed. Friday night is not where networks put shows that they are supporting. The DVR and online viewership has been providing a boost but the show was relatively costly and apparently it wasn’t doing as well as it needed to. At least it will be able to finish out the season which is more than some canceled shows have been allowed in the last few years.
