Madden 10 Roster Update #9 Details

Following a three week absence the next Madden 10 roster update is slated to release on Friday. This will be the ninth of the year which puts them about a month behind the pace that they were delivered last year. Madden 09 had 13 roster updates out before Thanksgiving.

There is a lot of significant movement in this update considering there has only been one in the previous five weeks. Included are changes to the team overalls. Jay Cutler surprisingly drops only four points to an 82, Jarius Byrd leaps from a 78 to an 85, JaMarcus Russell has been benched and falls to 65, and Brett Favre is now up to a 91. Chris Johnson has also shot all the way to 96.

Damn Idiots…. it's an update… what they missed this week will be updated on the next…. they're humans…. can't get every damn thing in some shit changed last minute… I read these damn comments and everyone crying… be happy they updated the damn thing… some of you cry about silly shit and can't even play the game worth a fuck… Update the shit your self.

we waited 3 weeks for this crap Kevin Ellison still rated 66 overall he took over clinton harts job for a reason. Antonio Cromartie should of gone up he has been playing very well now also a int in the last two games Mcnabb didnt even wanna throw to his side. Bradon Siler took Burnetts job and is still rated 61 and is 4th MLB lol. Why did palmer and warner go down?? Patriots lost last game and still got more upgrades sure they lost by a little to the colts but so did half of the teams that played the colts like 9rs and phins.

Have you seen the last two games? QBs have been throwing to Jammers side instead of Cromarties. Has he always has the deep covered well. Jammer has been better and reliable but cromartie is really starting to improve.

Dont be surprised to see Cason take over the starting spot soon. tully banta-cain and derrick burgess are the 2 best pass rushers on new englands defense. in my opinion, banta-cain (who now starts @ strong side linebacker) should be an 80 AT LEAST and derrick burgess should be a 75. Wilhite needs a boost too, hes a STARTER and is a 68… booo

Looking at the saints, 2 of our starters went on ir(One 3 weeks ago, and the other 2 weeks ago, I believe) yet neither are in the game, and we still don't have our new fullback.

Looking at other teams that appears to largely be the case, also.

It seems some of you are confused at how long it actually takes to get a roster update from EA to use via download. Here is a mini break down. Ea takes thier sweet ass time watching highlights from each week where they make their adjustment decisions. Now i say highlights because they simply can not watch every minute of every game and who actually does? But it seems to me as though they watch some complete games of the high echeolon(and i use that term loosly becasue popular would be more accurate) teams like the Cowpokes, and the "Everycallgoesourwayburgh Steelers". Thats why u see more detailed ratings adjustments for those teams. then they submit these changes to Microsoft and and Sony for approval which can take a week to two weeks.

So when you guys are saying that these changes seem like they are two weeks old then they most likely are. Now as far as the patch, who knows maybe they found a bug in it, or maybe they are just slow and lazy. But you will never hear EA admit they were or are wrong EVER. But all these madden followers will wait as long as it takes becasue we have no where else to turn to for a football fix and they capitalize on that.

Madden 10, although flawed like any sports game, is not "broken" as the idiots on here say. It can be improved through a patch, which is why everyone (including yourself) is whining. You said it yourself that it's working, and my point about PC games was that those problems arise because they can't possibly test everything. There are limitless scenarios and different system specifications on the user end that can't be reproduced, which is why some glitches will ALWAYS remain in any game ever made. With consoles everyone is on the same hardware, but there are still a lot more open-ended possibilities in sports games than other things, like say a linear RPG.

My point is, 110 nights seems like a long time to you, but in reality they had to spend time finalizing what was going to be in it, actually do the work on several facets of the game's coding (both regular gameplay and franchise by Josh Looman's crew), and then test it. After all that, it gets submitted to MS and Sony, and takes two more weeks. They have not been working on this patch since the game's release, so 110 nights is also an exaggeration.

I honestly never said you couldn't make assumptions, but when your opinions are based on baseless facts or pointless statements like "I think that when i pay that $60"…sorry, but no. Buying the game doesn't mean you know what you're talking about, doing your research or having actual knowledge of the gaming industry does.

You seem like a nice guy but sorry, you’re wrong. EA Sports makes a ton of money off Madden since it is the only way to play virtual NFL football. Hell, they have an entire studio devoted to nothing but making Madden. I really don’t think it is too much to ask for a roster update for each week of the season. They did it last year and there is really no reason they can’t do it again.
As for a patch, EA is being sluggish. As a company, it is EA’s job to support their game. It isn’t fair to the people that bought the game to have to put up with a less than top notch game. If it were a smaller company making a game that sold less, I’d say you were right but that is not the case. It’s fucking Madden. It will top the sales charts for sure and I think, as a customer, I deserve a little Quality Assurance.

They spend 50 million+ for the license every year, and even analysts slam them for that because it makes the game tough to profit off of. That is why, despite sales rising 5%, the head of EA was not happy with Madden's sales this year. They supposedly spent more than ever on Madden development this year.

They also market the hell out of the game, and that often costs more than the actual development, just like some movies. Sure they profit, but enough to do what exactly? None of you are actually backing up what you're saying, you're just saying I'm wrong despite the fact we know they worked on a patch and submitted it a while back. Like I said, some companies don't tell you anything, large or small. Many of them also benefit from having much longer dev cycles.

And just because it's the only option doesn't mean EA made the right choice in paying for exclusivity…yet, ironically enough, it's not like they have a choice, right? They are required by the deal to make a game every year.

I never said anything about weekly roster updates by the way…they started with it and should have stuck with it.

We are witnessing before our very eyes, the destruction of a once great a heralded video game sport franchise, because when you have your mind made up to do what you want to do and you have the power to do it. Then guess what, you are going to do it, and by that these people can give a flying fruit roll up about this game there aim is to make two teams good on here. The Cowboys and the Pats. There heart is so set on it and they are so consumed by it that if they can't have that Pats and Cowboys Superbowl in real life then they will jsut make it like that on the game. Roster updates have been bad, patch is taking forever. just getting to be some real Bull Shit paying 63$ (With Tax) for this.
