More Details on Madden 10 Patch #2

EA Sports has released a blog detailing what will be found in the second patch for Madden 10. There is nothing further provided on when the patch will be out as it is just awaiting certification clearance from Microsoft and Sony. Release of the blog though likely signifies that it is going to arrive very soon. For a while now we’ve been working off this list of items expected in the patch. However as stated in the blog we know in addition to those things the patch will be providing the following.

Tribute sticker for Steve McNair added to Titans helmets

Tribute sticker for Defensive Coordinator Jim Johnson added to Eagles helmets

Doubled the length of replays

Increased frequency of auto-replays especially after touchdowns

Reduced the number of times the chain-gang measurement scene occurs

Extended time in post-play to allow those scenes to fully play out

Stats tuned for franchise mode

Decreased chances of injury for players with high injury ratings

Included each player’s draft info to be viewable in franchise

Eric Berry comes in lower because he is considered undersized. Simple remedy that makes him an automatic Top 5 pick involves making him an inch taller and more ideal size at 210.

It's not so much a flaw within their logic as it is their system, because college players often gain more weight at certain positions in the transition to the NFL. QB's for example get up to around 220, which is actually the weight class that is considered "ideal" by the import draft logic as well. The problem with NCAA is that it doesn't simulate it well, even though it has in years past. Players would gain several pounds to aide them instead of them going 5 years (RS included) and only gaining 1 or 2 pounds like in NCAA 10.

@Rogue_Scientist What the fuck are you talking about? EA promised that this 2nd patch would be out the 1st half of November & here it is DECEMBER still no patch. "Just don't buy the game anymore"? Are you fucking kidding me? So it's wrong for someone who paid $65 to want to play the game they were promised? If I buy a game in August I don't want to have to wait until DECEMBER to be able to play it. A lot of people haven't even started their franchises because we're waiting on this patch. We still don't have a release date & all you can do is kiss up to EA and make excuses for them? This company has made millions off of false promises, false advertising, & flat out greed. If you have a problem with people voicing their frustration then DON'T COME TO SPORTS GAMING FORUMS!

Good point Ron. I've been wondering the same thing. If EA didn't tone down the over the shoulder catch then what does that say about their developers? It's like they rely solely on the public to find flawes in the game instead of them finding them themselves. It's like they're getting rich off of releasing flawed games year after year but the public is doing the job that should've been done by the game testers before the release. Man you gotta love EA!

I have been a loyal EA supporter but this year has finally broke me. I have owned every madden since madden 89 on Sega…I have always doubted EA naysayers and have always backed and stood behind EA. This year, has been utterly ridiculous. EA's management or producer needs to send all users and customers a clear and concise plan of action, and STICK TO IT next year…what is up with the weekly roster updates and then no update for several weeks? Especially after Larry Johnson was released…just wow.

Don't hold your breath for this new patch, or any roster update for that matter. EA needs new management, period.

Chain gangs would probably be a lot better if the animations weren't so predictable to what the call is and if it had a skip button for the animations.

I agree that the patch is probably going to be a let down, but how do you figure that EA is benefiting from delaying it? It's not hurting their numbers and pockets when you've already shelled out full price for the game if you trade it in. In fact, it should help them turn an even bigger profit because they will have double revenue once some poor sap goes out and buys it used a few months from now.

I'm hopeful that the patch will improve the game, but some people are just too unrealistic. The patch is not suppose to be Madden 11. Some of the stuff that people are bitching about can't be fixed via a patch. I just hope that the gameplay is improved enough to make the game enjoyable offline so I can play in franchise mode. I'm not asking for a reinvention by way of a patch, but I expect an improvement.

LOL, I love it when people just tell other people stuff. Like you dont like strawberries, or it doesnt take a month to go through certification so you must be lying. I dont care one way or the other if you like pasta or whatever, I just think its funny to be like I know someone told you something and that its the only way you could know about it, but I know way more even though I have no contacts or information so you are full of crap. Epic Fail. If you dont think the POS list of "fixes" matters than why on earth does it matter when the patch comes out? You obviously arent interested in the changes being made one way or the other.

Thats it, after all the waiting, that better not be it, what about Rb's route running. I spent exstensive time giving them idea's for this patch they didnt even get close one of them. If this is it I am glad I didnt wait and EA did screw us all. I know damn well if this is all there is they didnt listen to any of the fans. Come on now!

In fact many developement companies have been contemplating making things like online play or certain other features coded in some way so that only one user gets to use them for each disc therefore causing people who want to whole experience to buy the game new instead of used (this hasnt been put into effect yet its just a talked about strategy). Only the sale of new games have any effect on EAs sales numbers or holiday sales or whatever.
