Second Patch for Madden 10 Now Available (360)

Last week the long awaited patch #2 for Madden 10 arrived for the PS3 and earlier this morning it went live for the 360. As long as the console is connected online when starting up the game a prompt will automatically appear to download the update. Continue on for the list of changes once again and leave your thoughts on the patch in the comments!

Improvements in covering of the flats

Improved pursuit angles

CPU takes sacks more often instead of the last second throws while getting hit

Worked on eliminating various exploits such as with the RB Direct Snap

Fixing of problems caused by first patch such as black squares for numbers on some helmets

Addition of Seahawks alternate uniforms

Tribute sticker for Steve McNair added to Titans helmets

Tribute sticker for Defensive Coordinator Jim Johnson added to Eagles helmets

Doubled the length of replays

Increased frequency of auto-replays especially after touchdowns

Reduced the number of times the chain-gang measurement scene occurs

Extended time in post-play to allow those scenes to fully play out

Stats tuned for franchise mode

Decreased chances of injury for players with high injury ratings

Included each player’s draft info to be viewable in franchise

You can definitely notice the changes but with the wait its really confusing as to why it took so long I kicked a field goal & the chain gang cut scene played for some reason I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the run game but I haven't had any problems I don't run the wildcat often so Idk how it was affected cool update just the amount of time it took is whats got me lost bc there's STILL issues all & all satisfied now

jeez u people are un happy with everything EA tries to do.
the running game is fine and ur acting like a couple RB getting over 2000 yards is messing ur franchise up.
i think whats happening is some of you are getting shut down when u run and ur expecting to get 150+ yards a game.
if the game is to hard for u then lower the difficulty.

Franchise is fine? Just because you don't care about stats doesn't mean that many of us share your opinion. Accurate stats are important to me, they're part of the fun of playing the game. When you have a great RB its fun to try and go for the rushing crown – it adds backstory to the game. If not, why not just Play Now.

I care about accurate stats but instead of focusing on just the truly broken things people whined that their RB's weren't getting enough TD's, now look what happens. Look at the real NFL, on average only 6 get 1000+ yards and only a few get double digit TDs. It was closer to the real thing before.

And it doesn't matter if you're happy or not, nobody gives a shit about how upset one guy is over another. We all have issues with the game. You don't have to thank them, but your STFU's provide nothing but annoying whiney filler.

im talking about online play.running is alot harder now because theres a delay with the qb handing the ball of and sweep plays seem in slow motion now.before they seemed quick.player ai is to high now also.i noticed player awareness really dont matter every player can cover flats now no matter how bad they are

I can't figure it out either lol. I just enter the draft and check out what round the guys i want are supposed to go and exit before the first team picks in 15 or so secs. I do this repeatedly until i can figure out a draft value strategy with my pics. So many shortcomings in a 3rd gen game. What about when you sim your offense or defense only to see the stamina of your players didn't change even though 4 to 5 mins ran off the game clock? My offense was still gassed even though I scored a td 5 mins ago?

Wow from what im seeing there is a great improvement in covering the flats good job EA I never thought I would say that.. Also the seahawks jerseys are pretty sweet. The QB does take more sacks now so dam thats cool.. I just simmed a franchise and the 4 running backs had 2,000 yards and a ton of other running backs had 1,800 so im okay with that they did a good job. ummm the top passer (Peyton Manning) had 4 thousand yards and 36 touchdowns most of the other passers had 3 thousand and a average of 30 touchdown so good job there. The leading tackler had 120 tackles thats a little high but still okay. The pancakes are still messed up the leader only had 12 so thats a downer. The top punter had 100 punts wich is okay because last time almost every punter had like 160 punts so overall REALLY GOOD JOB EA! FOR THE FIRST TIME! lol =]

Wow from what im seeing there is a great improvement in covering the flats good job EA I never thought I would say that.. Also the seahawks jerseys are pretty sweet. The QB does take more sacks now so dam thats cool.. I just simmed a franchise and the 4 running backs had 2,000 yards and a ton of other running backs had 1,800 so im okay with that they did a good job. ummm the top passer (Peyton Manning) had 4 thousand yards and 36 touchdowns most of the other passers had 3 thousand and a average of 30 touchdown so good job there. The leading tackler had 120 tackles thats a little high but still okay. The pancakes are still messed up the leader only had 12 so thats a downer. The top punter had 100 punts wich is okay because last time almost every punter had like 160 punts so overall REALLY GOOD JOB EA! FOR THE FIRST TIME! lol =]

the screwed up the steelers end around with the wild cat. The back doesnt hand it off to the wideout, he keeps it.
Thats the only, or WAS the only end around we had. Wallace was great with a hand off from Ben. EA blows.

1st of all I don't know WTF you ppl are talking about power O is just fine. Also the wildcat still seems fine to me to I can't see a difference. (Playing with the Fins to BTW) I find if anything running plays are easier now. Also I simmed a season, and I had 2, 2,000+ Running backs in the NFL Turner, and AP. 11 running backs had 1,500+ yards running. 16 running backs with 10+ TDS. So pretty crazy numbers there I must say. Also Frank gore would have had 2,000 but he got hurt. he had 1960 yards. So really would have been 3 2,000+ yard runners. Here is something else to had 5 Defensive players get 20+ sacks. Bosch got 22.5.14 players with 15+ sacks. That's just crazy. 43 players with 10+ sacks. 1 good thing tho OLB's where getting more sacks so I liked that but, damn a lot of sacks.

Yeah me too. It's kind of fucked up that the A.I. QBs can throw a perfect ball while being hit, when everytime i'm hit when i'm throwing the ball goes like 5 yard or is a lob that gets picked off.

Okay, so with the stats tuning in Franchise mode has anyone else noticed this? At least one major record is broken every season. I simulated about 7 years into a franchise to see how the stats were tuned and I like it for the most part. More TD runs for Halfbacks, which was supremely low, QB ratings are down just a little bit which is more realistic, and pancakes are down. Things that have gone up a bit too much are rushing yards, In my first season simulating Micheal Turner ran for almost 2500 yards which is ridiculous, passing TDs is way up, I had a season where Drew Brees and Tom Brady both threw for 55 TD passes each, and sacks are up too much as Jared Allen has had 5 years in a row with 25 sacks. Has anyone heard or read about someone telling the EA guys about this? I mean Im happy with the gameplay fixes but the stats need a bit more tuning in Franchise mode for sure. I dount we'll be seeing any more patches for this game so hopefully it will be fixed for next year. Thanks for the update Pasta
