Your Top Game of 2009

While the final four games in my countdown will be revealed this coming week here is an opportunity for you to express what your favorite sports game of the year was. I’ve narrowed the choices for the poll down to the 10 most likely to be cited however feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments whether your game is on the list or not!

2) Fight Night Round 4 — A game that looked good and forced people to box, not slug….

3) Madden 10 — A game that people love to hate but Madden is finally back on track

4) NHL 10 — I love the NHL series but the game didn't make huge leaps over NHL 09 except for board play…Still, easily could be #1 in any list

5) NCAA College Basketball 10 — The multiple presentation teams is the wave of the future…The game play is solid….

I haven't played FIFA, which I know is an excellent game based on gamer feedback….

cant agree about fight night. maybe after patches but at first it was just a stick mashing fest and fatigue meant pretty much nothing

Madden was great this year definitely my favorite. I'd put UFC second cause of how new it was made it fun.

I played most of the games on the list. Me and my friends were addicted to UFC for awhile but it wore out. I played NBA 2K10 for awhile but My player is impossible for me. I didn't like Fight Night at all. I liked NCAA Football but I couldn't stand them movements after awhile. I play MLB 09 the show but not a lot cause it freezes to much for me. My dad plays Tiger Woods a lot. So I had to go with Madden 10 because I still play that game. Never have I played a Madden game so much since I got it.

The poll is not for sports game of the year, it is for your favourite game of the year. Favourite does not mean best. It means the game I enjoyed more than any other game. and thats mostly based on sales. there was no way either game was going to get more than a couple votes against those up there. wouldve been interchangeable with tiger woods I guess but far more people bought tiger than those two games.

i think if you take out the glitches youll see that the creators really tried and did make a great game. people bitch too much

Madden 10 this year is the best football game EVER made. Its not just me saying it, the review say it too. I initially liked NCAA 10, but when Madden came out, I realized you can play a football game and it not be like work. My hope is that NCAA keeps the new feature of season showdown, but makes gameplay like Madden. And make the graphics look like Madden.

Madden is much improved, but no where as polished as FIFA or The Show. Especially in the herky jerky animations and low frame-rate department.

My vote goes to FIFA. Im not a soccer fan, but the game is just great. The controls are awesome and so are the graphics and gameplay. It represents the game very well.

Second would have to be Madden. Although I still think NFL 2k5 is better (except for the graphics, considering it was on the XBOX) Madden showed great strides for the future. They just need to work on the physics of the game of football a lot more.

Third in my opinion is NBA 2k10. I know I know the online play stunk, but the if you just play an offline game it represents the game of basketball phenomenally. They have a myriad of animations which gives it the authentic look and feel. If this games online play worked it would easily be the best sports game of the year. But, since there are problems I bumped it down to number 3. Also, the My Player Mode is outstanding. Its as if you are playing in an actual game. In my opinion the game plays and looks 30 times better in the my player mode than just a quick game or association game, it is more authentic, and the AI is awesome.

Well first of all, the title should be changed to "Your Top SPORTS game of 2009". But my 'top game' is Gears Of War 2…….That game plays pretty good OUT THE BOX….Madden, 2k10, and live have way to many issues out the box to be taken seriously. Madden is good but the lack of Man to man defense and poor zone coverages really kills the realism in this game IMO.
