too bad the onlince franchise is garbage compared to the regular franchise. i would be better off having all my friends come over & do a franchise rather than online. its pretty sad. hopefully next year will be better, but i doubt it because EA wants you to buy the game every year just for a roster update.

I agree misused all the time. But you cant expect some people especially on this site to stop and think and call the "next gen" consoles "current-gen". wont happen. and yes i remember when we went from cartridges to cd's thats a different type of console gaming at the time so yes it deserved the title of next gen. but if the next console add no real new aspect to gaming besides better hardware with higher specs then the title isnt granted. becasue we are basically in the same generation with higher specs.

Sir, I respectfully disagree. While an interesting theory, we've been calling each next new group of consoles a "generation" of gaming. We WILL be calling the PS4/Xbox 720 the NEXT-GEN of gaming... just like we called the original Xbox/PS2 the next-gen while we were still playing with PSones. The PSone was the "next-gen" to us while playing the Sega Genesis. HD gaming was a huge leap this generation (which I still have yet to see 'cause I don't have the TV for it yet), it is still just a great initial feature of this current generation of gaming.

I get riled up because the consoles have been out for 4 years and people just can't let go of the obsolete terminology. As soon as we get official word of the next consoles and the magazines/websites start getting info on the great technology/games that we have to look forward to, we'llbe hearing about the TRUE next-gen again. As far as I'm concerned... the "next-gen" moniker can drop on the day the console releases. If not then... at least a year into the new generation is should go.

Dude you get so tied up in that its quite hilarious. Next gen is used to descibe High def gaming as a whole. Doesnt necasarily describe a generation of gaming that we are in right now. Will the next generation of gaming consoles be refered to as next gen. NO because the will not add much to what we already have besides beefed up specs and probably ore concentration on "Wii" style controls. high def gaming will be the format for a long time and as long as its that it will be refered to as next gen.
