More on the MLB 10 Pre-Order Bonus

As first noted last month the classic stadiums being advertised for MLB 10: The Show are actually being provided as downloadable content and won’t be included in the game. Not only has the pre-order bonus of a code to download the six stadiums reappeared on Gamestop but the same offer is now being made on Amazon.

No word on how much these stadiums will cost otherwise or whether they’ll be available individually or only as the full group. Generally I wouldn’t see anything wrong with extra stadiums being offered as DLC except that the the marketing for the game so far has implied that the stadiums are a part of the game.

Shibe Park – Opened April 12, 1909 in Philadelphia, it became the first steel-and-concrete stadium in baseball.

Forbes Field – Opened in 1909, was home to the Pittsburgh Pirates and was witness to a World Series-winning 9th inning homerun in 1960.

Polo Grounds – Opened in 1890, was known for its extremely deep center field (483 ft) and unique bathtub shape.

Crosley Field – Was the home field of the National League™ Cincinnati Reds™from 1912 through June 24, 1970.

Sportsman’s Park – Was built in St. Louis in 1902. Left-handed power hitters loved hitting here.

Griffith Stadium – Stood in Washington, D.C. from 1911 to 1965, measuring over 400 feet down the left field line.

A developer (Russell_SCEA) said last week on Operation Sports in a thread, that everyone will have access to these. So I assume this isn't just a pre-order thing, and they will go on the PSN. Timed exclusive or not remains to be seen.

Someone said that this year we will finally have the ability to transfer (import) previous franchises into MLB 10. Can someone confirm this because that would be awesome! I am 2 years deep in my MLB 09 Franchise and I really dont want to start all over again

I would like to see Ebbetts Field, but Shibe is so similar, so it's not that big a deal. How about a classic Yankee Stadium from the '50s when the monuments were in CF and it was huge.

Based on those oldtime stadium pics, they need some more classic ads too. Check out MLB 2K7 and their classic stadium DLC. They did a great job on it.

People are writing 2k off because of how horrible the games have been the last few years. Graphically the game has always been nice interms of player models but I could care less about player models. I didn't buy this game last year because you couldn't edit players stances and windups which is a complete joke and I bought 2k's games every year up until last year so you can say I've always been a 2k fanboy. I love the Show even though player models aren't up to par with 2k they still look great and the game playes wella nd captures baseball in it's true form I can only hope 2k does the same and if so it'll be a day 1 buy for me if not then it'll be one game for me this year again.So I am staying optimistic we'll get two good games this year.

Random question, but is the cover that's showcased on the likes of Amazon the actual cover? It looks like it came straight out of 95. Not a fan. 09's cover looked better but alas I sold it. I wanna start over with the "new" Royals, haha.

I know 2k was horrible last year, but it's a different year and you don't know what 2k is bringing to the table this year. It could be a good game. You never know, but people are so quick to write it off and say it's going to suck which is premature because the game has yet to come out or show any gameplay videos. When people say that they sound like kids.
