First Madden 11 Blog Coming During Super Bowl

For the second straight year the first news on the upcoming Madden will arrive during halftime of the Super Bowl. A blog posting will go up with discussion about one particular aspect of the game. For Madden 10 that was the “procedural awareness” and included details on what it was all about as well as a few videos showing off the technology.

Earlier today lead designer Ian Cummings posted on Twitter that the idea of having a blog at halftime of Super Bowl XLIV for Madden 11 has been approved. Prior to that he had questioned what area of the game people would most want to hear about and included options such as gameplay, presentation, franchise and online. Though it seems likely the blog will end up being gameplay related you can still send a message on there or leave comments on this article with your thoughts on what the blog should concentrate on.

Personally I think I would most like to hear about new authentic touches, atmosphere enhancements, or improvements to Online Franchise. I guess I’d just like to have something fun instead of something heavy at this time. It’s important to keep in mind that the information that will hit the blog will either be vague or very specific like it was last year. This won’t be a blowout of information but it’s still pretty neat to get something over six months in advance of the game’s release.

I think gameplay would be a great focus, but I'm an offline franchise player, mostly. That needs the most attention, in my opinion. Highlights from other games would be crucial – this was in NHL '94! And it was one of the best additions to a franchise mode. All the shortcomings aside, if you would get highlights from other games in progress, it would FEEL like a season that plays out around you. Adding a clip package to the extra point is also a must. And network-specific broadcasts (you know, the ones in a much lesser franchise, NCAA Basketball 10) should be a must.

I want the flats fixed. This game would be sick if so. Half the time the Running back runs right passed a flat zone and the CB's just let him catch the ball. especially on a roll out. Very frustrating.

I wanna hear about gameplay!!! Blocking & tackling needs to be addressed too many times a blocker or defender is right there to make a play & nothing happens its like the players have 1 foot long arms & have to be right on top of some1 to make a block or tackle which is lame!!! Don't care about offline franchise its not a challenge unless offline franchise turns into a head coach type format it can be eliminated from the game completely if you wanna play offline franchise turn on ur PS2

better catching!! sideline and endzone catches are non-existent and they happen every game in the NFL, you couldnt do a fade to the corner of the enzone if you had manning an moss for fuks sakes

a lot better blocking.. so many times your lineman will be the lead blocker, a saftey or corner will be coming and he'll turn the other way an not even block the guy right in front of him, blockers also run around in circles thus missing a block too…

I just dunno. I don't see anything critically wrong with the game play. It can always be better but not as bad as people make it out to be. As for the flats, learn to stop them. It is easy if you look for them every play. I think the presentation can use work and the "N64 sidelines" fixed would be nice. Offline franchise changes would be great, nothing new there in years.

Please make madden sick. on online you cant see the other peoples records when they are ready so you should be able to see there record at all times. and the franchise needs major improvement starting with stats and ratings going up. If they get 2000 yards rushing they should actually go up alot no matter how old they are. The ratings should go up accordingly and make the presentation on franchise better. Like actually talk about the players and there skills. Talk about future matchups and when the superbowl is coming. Things like that make it better. Talk about whats actually going on in the league during games.

I'm an offline franchise guy—EVERYDAY…if I can. Would love for the EXTRA POINT segment…to be expanded…They could do wonders with that… Would also like more, or continued REAL throwing motions for QB's…what a great touch…..Love it. Also, the cut scenes were fantastic…more of that please….Madden 10, was by far the greatest game I have ever played…The draft class stuff is pretty good, could be touched up though….Maybe my fav. part of the game…Last four drafts top 5 picks as follows… 2010-Terrance Cody 2011-Gerold McCoy 2012-Matt Barkley 2013-Bryce Brown

id like to see an atmosphere thing like they have in NBA Live 10 with the playoffs and finals having more intense crowds and more noise…kind of like the way the vikings were wearing ear plugs because of the NO crowd…thatd be pretty cool

We definately need in game updates from around the league in franchise. Scores & highlights from games in progress would be awesome! It goes without saying that they need to make the halftime show a lot better. 2K5's halftime show with Chris Berman kills Madden's & that game came out 6 years ago on a last gen system! WTF?

Also once a player goes on injured reserve remove him from the game completely so he can't be used anymore. Its unfair when you play teams like the Colts and people are still able to use Bob Sanders, Marlon Jackson, and Tyjuan Hagler. They have been on IR for months!
