MLB 2K10 Team Ratings

While everyone waits for the first gameplay videos to arrive for MLB 2K10, Game Informer has been posting a running blog detailing the experience with the game in My Player and Franchise. Just added to the blog earlier today are the overall ratings for every team with the default rosters.

Keep in mind that these team ratings are likely reflections of rosters as of January 15th which is when the roster cut-off generally takes place for MLB games. Updated rosters could alter the team ratings when the game is released. Continue on to check them out and leave your thoughts in the comments!

I love how all you people claim to know what teams should be rated months before the season starts. People who do it for a living (outside the gaming world) can’t even predict how good a team is going to be, so what makes you think a video game company is going to do any better?

Not that I’m defending 2k or anything, because I’m a MLB: The Show player myself, but team ratings are the last thing the 2K series needs to be worried about right now.

Red Sox have no bats. How the heck are they a 97 unless these are just pitching staff ratings.

and that screenshot tells me all i need to know. The Show looks so much better and so much more lifelike. no need to even spend time worrying about these ratings when i wont touch this game.

Yet they are projected to score over 800 runs this year, which is far from sucking. But the kiddies at home know more than the professionals.

They were 4th in the league in runs scored last year, and are to have upgraded slightly in run producers. But yeah, keep on with the uninformed tirades.

im a yankees fan and i do respect the red sox they are a great team but no way should they be even @ a 97 they should be like a 90 and the phillies should get like a 94-95

The dumb thing is that these rating are good except for the Red Sox and Angels. The Rangers have a RIDICULOUS lineup and good enough pitching to support that rating. The Mariners pack a great 1-2 punch their offense just isnt that good Chone Figgins signing with them just doesnt win the division. Otherwise the ratings are great. How us anyone complaining?

You losers do realize that these statistics are from STATS inc. professional ratings guys, they dont just rate video game players, they have player ratings for all players in every major sport. So how come you dont spend sometime on their website, bitching about overall team ratings, are you serious, player ratings is one thing, but team overall ratings has got you girls overreacting? I guess Hannah Montanna is in re runs so you girls have nothing else to focus on

The Orioles are where they should be based on the teams ahead of them in the AL East. Baltimore would have been a contender in the other AL divisions last year alone, just not in the East with a schedule featuring 20% of their games against NY, Boston and Tampa.

It’s funny because most sports announcers believe the Mariners have a great shot at the post season, but I guess hype and team morale has nothing to do with this game, it’s purely a stats game. There are several players on the Mariners who we’ve gotten cheap because they didn’t play much last year but in years past they produced very well, such as Ryan Garko, Eric Byrnes, and Milton Bradley. Not to mention King Felix and Cliff Lee dominating the top 2 spots (coincidentally they have more starts against AL west teams than the rest of the Mariner’s pitching staff (I looked it up)

heavy on the balls of the 2k game. every year, more people can be found commenting negatively in 2K articles than positevely in Madden, Live, theshow and fifa articles. Its amazing how people can come together to be negative. gotta love the life lessons you teach here pasta…look thru out his website and check any article more comments left on all his 2k shit, and barely a pulse on the games he supports. what happened to facebreaker? lol.

Giants are not overrated, they had the 8th best record in baseball last year and they are tied for 10th overall in these ratings, I would say that is rated about right. Typical east coast bias from fans of east coast teams that are asleep by the time the west coast games start. You don't watch the Giants and obviously you didn't know how well they did last year but you feel like you should proclaim them overrated. By the way, the Mets SUCK.

Although being a Boston fan, a 97? Really? The Ov. is averaged from Batting, Pitching, Defense, and Baserunning.

Pitching: should be a 98
Defense: should be a 96
Baserunning:should be a 89
That would mean batting would be over a 99, and THATS not happening

The Sox should have a 95 or a 96 ov

Those aren't loses. Figgins can't stay 100%, Matthews was around the 5th best hitter on the team clearly behind Morales, Hunter, Vlad, Abreu, Rivera, and maybe Kendrick, and Lackey has been overrated since 07. The guy is a career average 11 game winner. Shields is back, they picked up Rodney, and Fuentes is the next Rivera. Seattle is good but not better than Anaheim. That Bullpen is WEAK
