every mode in 2k10 is broken on the pc. The "my career" mode broke in the playoffs for me twice and franchise mode is riddled with bugs that make it unplayable. exlusive license has ruined this genre and is probably the worst I have ever seen it. I will not buy The Show since their support last year sucked. You can't send your devs on vacation if the franchise and rtts modes didn't work for more than a year. I will never buy either game again until they have at least one stable release (and i don't mean 2 months later after the first patch pulls it out of beta). Paying $60 bucks to do their testing is UNFORGIVABLE.

I completely disagree. They might have always had the technical issues with video and/or sound, but never released unplayable franchise modes (or now my player and RTTS). These issues have nothing to do with the complexities of endless computer configurations that make some bugs understandable. They clearly released these games in BETA state and we were asked to do the testing for a $60 fee. Having a mode be unplayable for the majority of users because of the game logic is not an oversight, it is blatant indifference that will continue to get worse if we continue to buy these POS games. I will admit that The Show (viewed at Best Buy) has amazing graphics and great gameplay in Exhibition Mode, but invest time in the other modes at your own risk. We really need a one year boycott of both of these crap franchises. MLB 2K and The Show can only be considered games that support Exhibition Mode and nothing else.

It's virtually the same damn game every year, how is it even possible that they continue not fixing these stupid issues from year to year? Bring MVP back because this shit is just tired.

I'm not a developer, I'm a machinima director, but I can definitely see where SCEA is coming from here. When I get to a deadline and I'm working eighteen or twenty hour days to try to hit it, I screw things up and make mistakes. Stuff I'd never do if I was well-rested.

That said, I am a bit pissed off about my RTTS player getting benched for a month because I successfully executed a hit and run while I had the red light for steal attempts (actually supposed to be benched for a series, but it never kicked in because I kept coming in as a pinch-hitter). But at least it wasn't during the World Series like in '09 when my MVP-winner had an 0-4 appearance in game 5 of the NLCS and rode the pine for eight and a half innings a game while my team lost the championship.

I started my "season" last night. Set all trades and injuries to manual so I'll make it happen along w/ force trade.

For the draft, because it's a season, I'm content just letting it fly w/ a random draft. And then I can force trade to get the young guys i want - (There's no complicated minor league w/ season, thank god)

That's another stupid thing, is how the minors and majors are all meshed together in Roster Management. They couldn't put a damn line inbetween them? Or am I miss some menu?

Plus, the season never froze. Tried it a few times.

But anyway, so far so good w/ those settings. I may have to "make" a few things happen, and off-season is annoying cuz every team can pop up w/ necessary moves, but I'm a happy player for now.

Pasta, you still haven't mentioned all the bugs in the online portion of the game. This game in a little over a week has "locked up" my PS3 more times than i care to mention. Even after completing an online game fully, when hitting "exit" to go back to the lobby, the game constantly freezes requiring a manual shut off of the PS3. Other times there are disconnects and wins/losses not registering. Forget about online leagues. After 3 games in, we cant even access the league, get stuck at a screen saying "Initializing league office", which also causes us to manually shut off the console.

This game is VERY buggy. I'm really hoping they can fix all of this.

Pasta, you keep mentioning franchise being very buggy, but online is a complete mess. Specifically, games played wins/losses not being recorded, online leagues being completely broken from not being able to even get back into them once they start(my league is stuck at "Initializing league office", to stats and records being messed up. But the worst part is how many times this game completely locks up the PS3 console.

Even after completing an online game fully, when you press exit to go back to the lobbies, it freezes up the console. This game is VERY BUGGY and needs to be looked at.

Thanks for the updates, Pasta. I'm not online much and just happened upon your site. Good info.

When I bought MLB10 The Show, I immediately tried Franchise Mode and noticed so many bugs I had to stop. For now, while we await a new patch, I'm limited to RTTS play and a few online games. I'm enjoying the RTTS improvements. Question regarding the RTTS "Calling The Game" feature: Have the developers mentioned why Training Points are not rewarded for this? It's a really nice, impressive feature (save the omission of a pickoff signal), but after calling a great game, it was a let-down not to see any Training Points rewarded to my RTTS player.
