Stanley Tucci Cast in Captain America

While there is still maybe some trepidation concerning Joe Johnston directing Captain America the same can’t be said about the cast. Academy Award nominated Stanley Tucci has signed on to play Dr. Abraham Erskine. The character creates the super-solider serum that turns Steve Rogers into Captain America.

Tucci joins Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, and Samuel L. Jackson as confirmed for the film. Captain America is set to begin filming late this month and has a firm release date of July 22nd 2011.
