Madden 11 Gets Online Quitting Fix

EA Sports released an update yesterday that changed the way wins and losses are reported online in Madden 11. One of the big issues so far with online play had been the ability for quitting to take place in the first half of ranked games and at any point in Madden Ultimate Team games with no penalty in the way of a loss being tagged to the quitter and no win being presented to the person quit on.

Now quitters will receive a loss no matter when they depart a ranked game and those quit on will receive a win. In MUT coins will be issued on a prorated basis when an opponent quits with the quitter losing a game of contract eligibility on their cards. This should resolve what had been an epidemic of quitting in both game types.

Though EA has not stated if the ability to play friends or challenge from a lobby room for ranked games will return they are now referring to it as a “bug” so hope is there that it will get switched back on. Reducing the lag effect that is hampering gameplay primarily as it pertains to the kicking meter would be the other big online problem that needs addressing and it appears is being looked into at least. Getting the quitting issue fixed though certainly took precedence for good reason and hopefully it is a sign they’ll continue to improve the online experience.

- Generally making pass defense more effective
- Reducing number of broken tackles
- Fixing user blitz exploit(s)
- Tuning injuries
- Tuning CPU & GameFlow play-calling logic
- Improving play action blocking
- Improving kick return blocking
- Improving online connectivity issues with kick meter lag, media streaming, etc.
- Random stability improvements

its happening to me, every time i go to play a exibition game It goes through kickoff and i kick or recieve and then it says madden momment failed, i click b to retry madden momment it goes back to kickoff and my players randomly change positions i cant play online it says i automatically lose conection after reaching coin toss. this started happening right after i started my online franchise

Seriously.. this all just describes how little you understand the game.

You probably dont take a 5 step drop and throw the ball. You hold down like every scrub right on hike, and throw off your back foot or off balance. That is why you are overthrowing balls.

Pass defense requires you not to play a defensive linemen. Every person that bitches about pass defense just has no idea how to manually cover or carry out their defensive assignment with a line backer or defensive back. I shut down 7 opponents with the Oakland Raiders at the gamestop tournament.. are you telling me that the Raiders pass defense is superior??? No.. its because I manually cover my opponents favorite routes so when he has to look elsewhere he has too much pressure to make the pass/i switch to the defender thats covering who hes throwing it to and i deflect it/make the tackle.

I’m going to have to make a series of youtube videos describing the fundamentals of Madden so that people realize nothing is wrong with this one and they are just not understanding execution.

My biggest problem with franchise mode is the way players progress. Last year I forced the ball to Heyward-Bey for every touchdown on offense. I think he was rookie of the year, and offensive player of the year. He progress +2 overall when I won the superbowl..

Because my friend and I were so curious we started another franchise and benched heyward bey, and won the superbowl. He was +2 overall after that as well.

I havent played a franchise yet, but I hear they made no improvements so I assume its sill around.

same shit happened to me.. and I went from 32-6 0%DNF ranked 230 on PS3, to 32-8 5% DNF, ranked 700 somethin.

MY FAVORITE PART is that I cant play people with 0%DNF anymore and I never had any intention of quitting, im getting disconnected from EA Servers then i can hop right back on it makes no sense. But all the bum hunting bitches who wanted a win in the first half when shit like this happened go their wish!

I guarantee you are trying to strip, holding turbo, or trying to hitstick. People never break tackles against me unless I do one of those things which you have to try to do occasionally but it should not be your default.

Try just running your guy without turbo into the opponent and not touching anything but left stick toward the guy you’re tackling and you will only have broken tackles when your guys are tired (use a diff package and substitutions to avoid that).

Fyi I play with the raiders, obviously not the best tackling team in the game.

With the exception of the quitting I could not disagree with you more. I don’t think gamers should be able to play friends in rank games because it kind scuse the ranking. You guys just playing the same people over and over again. The way it is now if you want rank you have to play peolpe you don’t know. You can’t cherry pick anymore.
