Next Madden 11 Roster Update Coming Soon

It appears that the second roster update for Madden 11 will be coming sooner than anticipated. According to Donny Moore the next one is being targeted to arrive this weekend. This update would likely attempt to position rosters to be in better shape before NFL teams set their final 53 after the last preseason game. A roster update is still expected in the days leading up to the start of the regular season that incorporate the final rosters.

So what could be expected out of the upcoming roster update? Probably not so much in the way of ratings changes but instead expect it to be primarily transaction based. Injuries such as those to Elvis Dumervil and Sidney Rice should be reflected. Just a few of the bigger changes as of late include Greg Camarillo and Javon Walker joining the Vikings, Brian Westbrook to the 49ers, Seahawks getting Kentwan Balmer, Lions getting Lawrence Jackson, Torry Holt IR/release from the Patriots, and Tra Thomas retiring from the Chargers.

The update could deal with making Vincent Jackson, Marcus McNeill, and Darrelle Revis inactive given their holdouts and suspensions in the case of the first two. Matt Leinart losing his starting spot to Derek Anderson could even make its way in.

You mean to use when starting up an OF right? Probably not right away. They seem to lag behind a few weeks on OF updates for some reason.

Leinart hasn’t really lost his starting job yet. Coach Whisenhunt said that he wants to see how Leinart and Anderson handle it,but that doesn’t mean that Anderson will be the starter when the season starts.

Yes that is what I meant. Last year they updated it once in the fall and then once in the spring. And that was it. So I was hoping maybe this year they would do it as regularly as they do for the real roster updates.

I think Anderson is too inconsistent to take it from him. But it depends on how both of them look on Saturday and the final preseason game next week. I’d wait until I see who starts on Week 1 until I change it on the Madden 11 rosters.

Leinart has been tentative, but he isn’t making mistakes. Anderson has a Touchdown, but he also has two picks, and he can make one nice deep throw, then miss an easy one to a wide open receiver.

i wonder the reasoning behind not allowing us to use our own rosters when starting up an online franchise…especially with the lack of attention paid to updating those rosters…i would even take having them synced with the online roster updates…just a curious design choice…

also, do you know if Danario Alexander will be put on the Rams and Brooks Foster cut, Hovan being on IR etc…

agree completely, Donny Moore is a fucktard who is ridiculously incompetent, the fact he refers to himself as the Czar shows how he spends more time on twitter sending messages to players who don’t care who he is than watching their tape and rating them correctly.

also, talking about Twitter, does anyone else feel EA head honchos should ban Cummings from using it? talk about PR suicide, the dude is slating hardcore madden fans and likening forum posters to hill billys?

they definitely have an ‘elitist’ attitude going on over there…funny thing is they haven’t really accomplished anything other than taking over the reigns of an already monster franchise…their egos are through the roof…they forget this game is successful do to a legion of followers who have been with the game for 10+ years…they are clearly resting on their laurels and haven’t done anything remotely progressive with the game in years…the game gets solid reviews from critics because everyone and their mother is afraid to piss off EA because they will lose their free swag and early exclusives…but meanwhile the people who ACTUALLY play the game more than a week are ready to gouge their own eyes out…and how does EA handle the people who complain? well, delete their comments from the forums and block them from Twitter or any other media sites…actually responding to problems and making efforts to fix those problems would clearly be the better choice…

I wonder if they will fix the contracts of player who got new deals like Nick Mangold, Ferguson(Jets LT), Kyle Orton, and others who got new contracts. I hope they do because that is important considering in the game you can’t get them to agree to the real life deals no matter what you do so it will suck if I can’t re-sign Mangold at his new shiny contract he got in real life.

any idea when a patch for some of the issues such as it being way easy to beat defenses or the storylines and the kickoffs suck as well. Just some of the general bad things?

Yeah…sometime around mid-August 2011. The patch will be called Madden 12, and it too will need a patch.

yeah $50 mil guaranteed Sam Bradford has an identical contract to Stafford? and players such as Kolb who have big new deals get cut after year one. this needs sorting as it really adversely affects the overall franchise experience, of course, saying this makes no difference, as Franchise is ALWAYS ignored and neglected…

What about a patch? Sliders are to sensitive. Fumble animations show one team recovering while it actually the other recovering the fumble. Then a line shows up stating that a member of the team that didn’t recover the football, did recover the football. Broken CPU tackles are rediculous. Where’s the old method of changind assignments and hot routes at? Too much hesitation during a game when going in and out of the menu screen. Have you heard anything about this Pasta?

STEPHEN TULLOCH, Titans MLB, deserves a major boost. Tulloch received a rating of 77, why? Tulloch had 121 tackles last year, ranking him 13th in the NFL in combined tackles. But yet he’s the 42nd best MLB and the 87th best overall LB on Madden. That doesn’t make any sense to me, how does a guy who is in the top 15 in tackles become the 87th best overall LB? Just to name some players who Stephen Tulloch (77 overall) had more tackles than: James Laurinaitis (85 overall), Lance Briggs (92 overall), Jonathan Vilma (90 overall), Karlos Dansby (90 overall), Nick Barnett (87 overall), and the list goes on and on. Not only that but Tulloch only started 13 games last year, he had some minor injuries and didn’t play at 100% for 3 games and saw very limited playing time. So he could have had another 15+ tackles last year. With the departure of Keith Bulluck, Stephen Tulloch is now our defensive leader and LB leader. Right now it’s a toss-up between Griffin, Tulloch, and Finnegan for defensive captain. But yet, Tulloch isn’t even our best rating LB on Madden – Will Witherspoon is a 82 overall with 92 tackles and 16 starts and David Thornton is a 79 with 59 tackles in 11 starts. So now this year Tulloch will take it to the next level with the departure of Vanden Bosch and Bulluck – he will have to become a captain and a leader and will be even better than last year. So the question remains, how does a guy get a 77 rating that makes him the 87th best overall LB rating wise, but was 13th in tackles last year? I seriously believe that Stephen Tulloch should be at least an 85 overall, he’s one of the best young LBs in the game (only 25). Other than this rather large rating mistake I’m 100% happy with the Titans ratings. So please Madden gods – give Tulloch a rating he deserved!

Rented this game for 2 weeks and I’m already bored as expected nothing dramatic has changed with this franchise. quicker! simplier! NO! similar ! to the last garbage they’ve been putting out for next gen! tumble weed tackling! meaning once a run animation starts with one tackler the rest of the defenders start rolling around the runner and tackler! no double hit tackles! and don’t tell me its protak! madden on ps2 still has a better franchise and better gameplay and yes LOCOMOTION! was in madden 05 WOW! So next year with madden 12 they will implement the features that were already in first gen maddens and make it seem like its all new franchise options just like they did with locomotion this year! but this is what you get with complacency and no competition just look at the battle between nba elite an nba 2k11 both will probably be solid games because of it

already had to deal with a team like this in a team play game, a friend of mine and I were the Texans and about 95% of their plays were scramble 20 yards back with Smith and lob it deep Vernon Davis or dump it to Gore, so with Westbrook in the mix it’ll probably be worse

Thank God, there’s a lot to fix, especially on the Patriots’ roster. Derrick Burgess (starting OLB) was missing from the start & Brandon Spikes starts at ILB & is a little faster than the 70 Speed rating he was given. And WTF they moved Ron Brace to DE when he hasn’t played there is beyond me. There’s a lot of rookies/players missing from the team (Welch, Cunningham, Deaderick, Larsen) & Marques Murrell who’s been playing VERY well so far. Damione Lewis who was signed way back in April & has in Madden since he was drafted in 2001 is removed from this year’s game without explanation. I was looking forward to using him especially after Jarvis Green left for Denver. I hope they get it right.

They have several players they need to add/remove. It would be nice for them to add in all the equipment and get players appearences right. They need to add the helmet that Big Ben, Palmer, and Cutler are wearing this year. They also need to add dreads to DeAngelo Williams and others. And why does Brandon Marshall look mexican?

I hope Donny addresses both Mike Williams and Donald Penn of the Bucs. Rookie WR Mike Willaims is the Bucs best receiver and the starter at the X. On Madden Mike Williams is the Bucs 4th receiver.

In addition, something has to be done about Donald Penn’s 85 rating. Jammie Dukes former NFL offensive line men and current NFL Network Analyst says Donald Penn is the top six offensive linemen in the league regardless of position. Eighty five is not good enough. Thanks Donny for finally getting Buc line backers Jeno Hays and Quency Black in the their right positions. Best Madden ever. Go Bucs.
