    0:06 WTF lebron

  • Pokerface

    NBA 2k11 + MJ = sold.
    Elite 11 + spastic Live 07 gameplay + daley7199 crying on every NBA 2K11 thread = fold.

  • XBOXLIVENETWORK.COM

Looks just like 2K10 to me. My main problem is, where is the crowd. I remember in 2K10, it would go dead silent in the arena at times.

Looks nice can’t wait to the Demo to get a better feel for it instead of videos

  • Anonymous

At some point in time graphics stop improving and you have to just check gameplay dude. the game is never going to mimic real life

  • http://twitter.com/amassicott alex massicott

It looks too much like 2k10, even the created player faces are the same. I’m passing on basketball this year.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/2X22HNEJT3XTGRFKEGK7V5423M John

    lol good idea

  • http://pastapadre.com/ pastapadre

Hes talking about audio, not graphics. Which I agree with. One of the things I really liked most about Live 10 was the atmosphere. Still dont get that in the 2K games.

  • Tom

im really torn on which game to get this year. 2k looks better overall, but I want nba jam!

  • juan de leon

I think you can buy jam solo thru the psn, i also think that version will have the boss battles.

  • Corey

While it may not come our at the same time as the NBA games, you aren’t getting the full version of NBA Jam with Elite, even though with how crappy that game looks, maybe they should give away the full game HAHA

  • JohnZapp

totally agree with you pasta. the chant mvp, vince carter getting booed at raptors. good times

  • http://pastapadre.com/ pastapadre

What is the full version of NBA Jam though? The Wii which doesnt have online play?

  • http://pastapadre.com/ pastapadre

You should be able to get NBA Jam codes on Ebay. I’m guessing they’ll go for about $20 or so.

  • Stan Van Gundy

These 2k videos still show that theres no repercussions for dumb plays like cross court passes and random spins to traffic and defense with guards. and sumthin bout the passing on this game is funky it always looks akward. They also have to do sumthin about making sum of there moves situational and the defense has a close out problem for sure

  • Haveamazing

will their only be historic teams from this era or will kareem magic and worthy be playable

  • kdarnell

this game may be far from perfect…and im sure daley could give us 1001 reason why it isnt, but no one can honestly say that this doesnt look better than ELITE

  • Pantera4Life

just like in real life haha. i understand the annoyance but dont act like the nba has packed arenas of screaming fans every game. it isnt college

    • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/2X22HNEJT3XTGRFKEGK7V5423M John

      wish lol

  • http://www.facebook.com/vicsib Victor Sibley

yeah but the crowd doesn’t mean anything if the game is unplayable.

  • Anonymous

See man, that’s what’s so amazing with video games. People have legitimate complaints that others just don’t see. I don’t doubt for a second that you guys experienced poor crowd reaction, but I vividly remember games in the playoffs (while the wifey was gone) where my surround sound was teetering off the charts as I balled up with Memphis. I want the following…

Dynamic Crowd Attendance: Shitty teams should have shitty crowds

Deeper Association: It’s good now, but this game gets boring very quickly, when playing an 82 game season (Though I usually play about 20 per franchise year and let sim handle the rest. that way I get more injuries and such which force me to adapt to different scenarios for trades etc.

  • Blindpug

Is it me, or is the commentary really good? Honestly its like listening to a telecast. Im sure at some point you play it long enough it will get a lil stale but first impressions are its quite smooth and doesn’t seem at all cut and pasted like other sports titles.

  • Sammy

New Videos??? They’ve been in the network for 2 days now…

  • Anonymous

Watch out Pasta you mentioned something positive about Live 10……………I hope you have your waders on. LOL

  • Sammy

No, the player faces have changed.

Nash has long hair, Nowitzki is fixed now, James has changed a lil bit, Bosh has short hair….

It doesnt look exactly like 2K10. It definetely looks better this year.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/2X22HNEJT3XTGRFKEGK7V5423M John

    those are all obvious changes

I have mixed feelings about these videos. A lot of the animations have been cleaned up and look great. Hopefully they are as responsive as they look. On the other hand, the straight dribbling looks very awkward. Whenever the ball is brought up the court, the handler just looks off when he’s dribbling. It looks like the on-ball defense has been improved, but the AI is something I’ll have to wait and see when I play for myself. The one real complaint I have is the commentary. It still doesn’t flow at all with the game. The side topics are nice, but they are not executed well at all, and they don’t seem to really be reacting to the game at all. Jordan had a nice And1 that wasn’t mentioned. The Bulls turned it over 2 or 3 times in a row, yet they made no mention of consecutive turnovers or anything like that. There are also just too many recycled lines, and neither Kevin nor Clark sound like they were really invested in their recordings. All in all, it looks better than 2k10, aside from the commentary. Hopefully it plays as good as it looks.

  • Bullitt_711

#1 Jordan looks like he’s 6′ 2″ in those vids. I’d rather play as the Blazers, I prolly won’t be able to do that. We won’t have access to old teams except for anything attached to jordan in the playoffs? Bummer.

  • Anonymous

yea and I even tipped Pasta yesterday about the Heat Suns one..

  • Anonymous

you can probably “choose side” while in the Jordan challenge and play as the opposing team.

  • Sean

Looks like a another winner !! Cant wait to play in Oct…if online issues are dealt with, this will be the best basketball game out there-easily.

  • Trmiller23

whoever playing both games sucks, first mia will beat the heat by more than 8 in the first half and the dude playing with jordan is terrible. great game though a couple of problem that hopeflly will be fixed

  • Anonymous

Presentation looks great but I am still seeing a very soft defense especially in the paint. Any penetration into the paint results in no help defense and the defense basically being flat footed. That first score by Lebron was rediculolus. Defense just watched him score.

In the Bulls game its alot more of the same. Poor defensive rebounding, no defense in the paint and what is with all the steals. Looks like every time Jordan goes to the basket the defense just gets out of the way instead of committing the intentional foul. Fast breaks resulted in zero defenders getting back each time also.

  • http://www.facebook.com/inkpimp Jonathan Glapion

it’s the same thing every year though, not sure why people forget as soon as the next year roles around. These vids are not likely on any type of sim lever. typically things are set to the easier level to show off the game and curve frustration.

  • Weaverlynn

watch out pasta daley is trying to butter u up and act like your best friend lol

  • Weaverlynn

first thing on the lebron score i this person is playing on the rookie level and please tell me at what point was there no help defense bc i have now watched this 5 times and i dont see it. as soon as they get into the paint the help comes

  • Weaverlynn

for people talking about the crowd. i have been to numerous games and almost all the time everybody is just sitting there till late in the 4qtr. or it is a playoff game

  • Anonymous

Look I am not a 2k fan and you all know this. I am really telling you what I see. You people cant be objective because you want this game to be so great, and thus you lose alot of your objectivity.

I have no stake in this game. I am not going to buy it and so I have nothing to gain or lose by commenting truthfully. I commented on what I saw in the videos. You don’t have to agree with me but I am giving you my “honest” take of what I am seeing.

  • Anonymous

Since its the Jordan challenge, why would you be able to choose sides. The object is to complete the Jordan Challenge not stop the Jordan Challenge. Now perhaps those classic teams will be available to play in “play now” games and maybe once you complete the 10 Jordan Challenges they may unlock the other teams as playable but I can’t see them doing that right from the start. It would defeat the whole intent of the game mode

  • Anonymous

Seems like you are coming down from the 2k high……….LOL

  • http://www.facebook.com/makin.edwards Makin Edwards

What do you think about elite ?

  • Samkaveli

R.I.P NBA Elite all that needs to be said.

  • http://www.facebook.com/makin.edwards Makin Edwards

Yea seems like no game has ever got the commentary down, i guess its hard to really get in detail when you playing a video game, think they should just keep it general until they are able to perfect it

  • http://www.facebook.com/makin.edwards Makin Edwards

Didnt Realize Heat Was CPU controlled

  • Shit Aint Real

same goes for live or elite or whatever you call it post play blows in both, especially online, in both games online is just pass into post and score over and over again ive played both a bunch for years same crap both games, highly doubt either will be changing that up

  • Chunkybeffer

Looks solid. Kinda strange how most of the wide-open shots miss, and the contact/contested layups seem to fall more consistently than in past titles.

  • Nphillyk

This is often the case with user controlled players. Mis-timing the release on a shot can land you a brick.

  • Nphillyk

Don’t bother arguing with the 2K haters man. These past couple of years, there has been plenty of CPU help defense (at times too much). Unless I ran an isolation play or my opponent manually turned down his help defense in the coaching settings, there was ALWAYS help. They would switch on pick and rolls and contest would be open shots. People just search for any reason not to like the game. I think some wish that it was more of a pick up and play type of game, but it is not. 2K has almost never been that way. The thing I like about 2K probably the most is that a skilled user will almost always beat a novice user. The game just has too much depth for someone to just be able to pick up the sticks and be good right away. All of the subtle elements of the game have to be mastered in order to become a good 2K player. So if you’re playing against someone and Lebron scores 50 on you, maybe you should look at what you’re doing wrong instead of the CPU or the game engine itself. Once I learned how to defend, no superstars could single handedly win games against me. They might go for 30, but it would be on 9-25 from the field.

  • Nphillyk

So if you’re not going to buy it, then why check out EVERY article on the site and comment 50 + times??? Seems like a waste of time if you already have your mind made up. Which, for the record you have pretty much stated that no matter how good 2K11 is, you will still not purchase it for the simple fact that it is not made by EA. On the flip side, I bet you give that POS Elite a buy won’t you???

  • Anonymous

i’m sure it’s possible. what if you want to play 2 players? You can just switch controllers and try the opposing team.

  • http://www.facebook.com/makin.edwards Makin Edwards

No its a one player game mode. You will only be controlling jordan
